- Is it possible to hit lvl 60 Killing only Boars in Vanilla WoW? I go over the challenge break it down and examine it. I wanted to know if it's possible and I sure did! I can't wait to see if anyone attempts this. I actually think it would be a lot of fun for a while anyways. The South Park Challenge. I'm sure I made some errors in here, but I just wanted it to be more of an estimate and proof of concept idea.

@No you Not really. That's the beauty of Vanilla WoW, the game wasn't entirely focused on endgame, and even the parts that were (which was a lot of it), you could start working towards it before then. Many BiS items to get raid ready you can start farming, some as early as the late 40s/early 50s.

In the show the boys killed boars only in the starting zone. So the number Cartman came up with may be correct, since the lower lvl boars give far less XP. The show still ignores the level cap for obtaining XP from lower lvl monsters though.

No! You have to stay in Elwynn Forest and only kill the boars there to reach 60. I know that's not actually possible but that's how they did it in that episode of SP.

Cartman knew, that leveling is done so 'now we can finally play the game'! When that episode happened it was still in the very classic era of wow where leveling was a journey. But Cartman knew the future! Now leveling is really nothing but a instant rush to endgame, really since WOTLK. Vanilla and TBC were the only expansions where leveling was truly a fun journey. Honestly The Outlands are possibly my favorite leveling experience ever, if not, than only 2nd to Horde Undead vanilla leveling!
I just realized you can pick up engineering and use combat pets and bombs to help you level up. Unfortunately you cannot pick an engineering specialization, and thus you can't fully utilize the profession. Additionally you can craft your own ammunition, but we'll overlook that for now.
Utilizing engineering level by level*:
Level 5+: Coarse Dynamite
Level 10+: Explosive Sheep, Minor Recombobulator, Target Dummy
Level 20+: Goblin Sapper Charge, Goblin Land Mine, Goblin Mortar, Gnomish Shrink Ray, Gnomish Net-O-Matic, Gnomish Cloaking Device, Advanced Target Dummy (2672 health)
Level 30+: Mechanical Dragonling (pet level 35 at skill 225); Compact Harvest Reaper
Level 35+: Mechanical Dragonling (level 60 at skill 300), Major Recombobulator, Masterwork Target Dummy (5228 health), Field Repair Bot 74A, Dense Dynamite, Dark Iron Bomb, The Big One
Level 40+: Mithril Mechanical Dragonling
Level 50+: Arcanite Dragonling
*This list assumes you powerlevel the profession and outsource the required items as per necessary for maximal efficiency. This list also excludes several "unworthy" items, such as Rough Dynamite.
Add a bunch of consumables and other special items, and you'll breeze through with ease. "Special items" would include things such as Magic Candles, Explosive Rockets and the fabled Discombobulator Ray as well as Goblin Rocket Boots which are all usable since level 1.
Me reading title: Pfft they stop giving exp once they turn grey after like 5ish levels under.

Make sure you skin every single one of them and proceed to sell it all on the AH so this self-made quest is worth some money.

i think it would be faster to just kite high lvl boars instead of camping bellygrub and zoning into RFK/RFD. with relative ease, a dwarf hunter can pull the ashmane boars of blasted lands into nethergarde keep and get a little xp per guard-assisted kill. if you deal under 50% of the damage, you won't get any loot, but there will still be xp to gain.
also, would it be allowed to tame something other than a boar?
I kept watching him, as he ran off and shot another boar some then ran back into the guards. This had been going for hours by now; yet I had only stayed to watch for a few minutes when I couldn't resist to ask him:
-"What are you doing?, they wont drop any items if the guards deal most of the damage"
-"I'm trying to level up"
-"Why dont you go somewhere easier?, these are clearly too hard for you to grind"
-"This is my easier option"
And so he ran off to pull another boar. I logged out after watching him for a few more minutes; whatever madness drove that man to doing this I was not going to risk finding out myself.
miskee11 Probably couldn't have a pet bc in Vanilla u had to do a quest to learn to tame it which would give you experience...

Yeah, but in the show they did only kill low level boars and in one place, ignoring the no exp low level mobs rule. thats why the number was 6 mil boars

Cartman got the 65 million number because he only calculated the one type of boar, which ofc wouldn't actually work because boars stop giving xp after u after you outlevel them a bit, but eh that was his logic

I just realized why I like wow classic and feel no attraction to other mmorpgs. The world is quite desolate, sparsely filled with things. Modern mmorpgs seems to suffer from the desire to have everything be filled with excitement, stuff and for everything to cool cool. Wow classic is calm and down to Earth, and I like that.

Thing is, there's literally no way you can solo those elite packs of boars in RFD. 3 or 4 pull at a time and you may not even be able to solo one of them.

I remember killing 10kish Mobs for the Azure Whelpling in Classic (Azshara not Winterspring like now a Days) back in the Day, before they where Battle Pets. Lets say it was boaring at least ;)

This has given me a new challenge for classic TBC, although I am going to put my own twist on it.
I'm currently looking at petopia to see which pets are available from beginning to max level like...birds... Seems to be a lot of different types of birds in the game from owls to buzzards all the way to end game depending on the zone

The idea is that the boys killed so many boars they ascended past level 60. Just like how the evil one could beat admins

this is the bitch way to do it. the whole joke in the south park episode is that they grinded the whole way there off of a low level enemy, never even moving on to new zones or new enemies.
Now do it all over again and only stay in the Starting Zone. You Can't Do it anymore that is.

the short answer without seeing too much of this video is YES but you are going to spend at least 1 year doing this with more than likely it being closer to 5 years to get there.

with level scaling you can kill boars to level 20 in elwynn then 15 to 60 in redridge that is all that is needed
Vanilla has not lvl scaling.
Well, since you will be getting some discovery xp along the way, you only need to kill like 18020 boars and not the 18058, so it's not nearly as bad.

In southpark, everyone was partied up. I believe that being in a party reduced the amount of xp you get per kill. Xp split between five people, maybe it would take millions of boars.... who knows
Well it would take millions, but not SIXTY million. A four-char group would get about 33% bonus xp via the shared-xp modifier, so 4 players * 4M xp needed if solo / 2 xp per boar / 1.33 = 6M kills. Only 10% of Cartman's number. :-)

I'm sure I'm late to this train, but here goes: did you consider exploration experience in your estimation? I am pretty sure that by going around the world, you will be getting free experience you cannot avoid.
There are more boars in TBC and WotLK, I believe there are also some in Cata, not sure about MoP, but for sure WoD and Legion, possibly BoA as well

Me and 4 friends raced to level 70 killing boars in Wrath hes basically correct about the whole trip. you can swap a few zones for a level or 2 if you get bored of the terrain.
Let's hope they enjoy killing them and dont get Boar-ed

Petition Blizzard to have all boars in the game give a minimum of 2 experience points. Regardless of group/raid size and level of character. So that it will actually be possible to kill boars in the forest to level 60.
Until you see bots afk killing boars non stop

Well, you do know that in China. White Collar criminals are FORCED to play WoW and have to farm for Gold. If they fail to reach their quota for their shift...bad things happen. And yes I do mean FORCED to play. Though this was like 10+ years ago when I read this story and I laugh to this day about it.
