I have a couple of the the T-Motor AM40 combo's. Even has a reversible esc if you want to use it that way. I use them on RCFactory/twisted hobbys foamies. Amazing quality. The t-motor T8044 props are great but are hard to get, so I also use & love the Sunnysky EOLO props. So much good stuff bleeding over into fixed wing.
I have had my AM link for more than 1 year and I could not find out where the down load for the software anywhere . Finally you showed me where to get the download for the AM link software thank you .
Hi. This might a ready dumb question but do you have to solder the connector bullets for the ESC connector to the motor? I watched another vid where it looked like they bolted on the provided bullet connectors.
If you look at th-cam.com/users/liveZh5KSrwSJXA?si=ottbZOYKQua_NgKA&t=361 You can see out of the box the bullets are already installed on the motor and esc. They are pressure fit bullets. I've never heard of 'bolted on' bullet connectors. Every bullet connector I've ever used has been soldered on.
This was really helpful. ON my AM600 combo , The Motor is pulsing or Jerking with the default settings the esc came with. It's almost smooth with the Timing set to 5 and Max. Acceleration set to Maximum. Is there a specific number for the 600 motor or it can vary from motor to motor of the same make ? I did verify the AM link is at 120(20 pole ). Also I am Using JR PRO Sbus Receiver. What should I set the AM link to 3-,1 3-2 or 3-3 ?
Minimally you need to calibrate it, but yes, it will work out of the box without additional programming. I do suggest looking over the manual and understanding the defaults though. It's usually not wise to just fly an ESC without understanding what options are set. i.e. A lot of ESCs will use voltage cutoff when battery goes below a certain value rather than just reducing power. I'd prefer to lose the battery than the entire model.
@RCVideoReviews Have you been able to find instructions to program the ESC without the AM Link? I assume it's possible to do with just the transmitter, but I haven't been able to find documentation on the process anywhere.
Instructions are in the box. And the AMLink only performs three functions. It’s not like a traditional programmer. The full programming capabilities are available in BLHeli.
Great motors and ESC's ....however one small criticism the ESC fans wear out very quickly... I've swapped it out with a dual bearing enclosed side vented fan...way better design than the single bearing fans they supply...also I couldn't get the AM link open on my pc it connected fine with COM PORT on pc but it would not populate ? ...but it's fine out of the box ...but I have would liked higher servo voltage on my MKS HV servos..
Managed to connect to Android phone and the PC thanks the update worked great however you cant change the output voltage theres no OPTION🤔 Okay you need to solve the USB not connected/found The only way to solve this is to go to 'System' then 'Developers Options' then scroll down to ' Default USB connection ' In this select 'File Transfer' Now remember you need to reset this or it will not charge your phone next time you plug it in 😉👍
That motor ESC combo looks absolutely gorgeous in the box. I'm probably gonna get me one just to put it on my desk as an ornament.😁
LOL I know. It's almost a shame to cover it up with the cowl.

I agree. T-Motor makes good gear, so it is definitely good to see fixed wing options from them.

You're very welcome.

@@RCVideoReviews sorry, I was asking about the leads on the ESC for the battery connector. But I think I got it.
It doesn't come with a battery connector. That's up to you.

What is the purpose of the external capacitor? I've never seen an ESC come with one before.
Reduces spikes on higher voltage connections. I see them pretty frequently with 6s capable devices. Quads, Gyros, ESCs.
Would I be able to connect the ESC directly to the throttle channel my receiver without programming it?

@@megaman590 I haven't found any instructions that supports programming the esc without the AM Link.

The video shows how to program in blheli.

Make sure you're using the latest version of blheli. I wanted my bec output cranked up too.
This is a sweet vid, nice one.
I am going to order the AM600 combo for my 60” EF Extra NG. Should I order the motor that has a KV of 525 or 555?
They'll both be fine. If you want the extra oomph at the cost of higher current get the 555Kv.
Managed to connect to Android phone and the PC thanks the update worked great however you cant change the output voltage theres no OPTION🤔
Okay you need to solve the USB not connected/found
The only way to solve this is to go to
'System' then
'Developers Options' then scroll down to
' Default USB connection '
In this select 'File Transfer'
Now remember you need to reset this or it will not charge your phone next time you plug it in 😉👍
Good tip.
