It’s interesting that you bring up Kobe, because Taylor and Kobe actually had amazing respect for each other in their own fields. In fact this past year at the Eras Tour shows in LA Taylor brought Kobe’s youngest daughter out to the show and gave her a big moment in one of her songs, it was super sweet!
When I lost my dad and I had to force myself to get up and go to work, I felt like my work was not as good as it was before then I listened to This is me trying and I realised that showing up is me trying and I just need to keep trying. I love that song so much
That's true, what you said about the challenges, and setbacks, that make you stronger. I love this girl,so much.🧡 "This is me trying", really gets me,emotionally.
I think you'll find the reason Taylor has such a huge loyal fan base is because of what you just said: She's so down-to-earth and human. Consistently! Also there's that whole genius songwriting thing, which is a bonus 😉
As a nurse who worked through COVID I strongly recommend epiphany from the long pond studio sessions with the interview included. It hits me hard every time I hear it. Also My Tears Ricochet from these same sessions is great. It’s about the betrayal she felt when her previous label head who she felt was a second father sold her masters.
@@KingGreatnessKG she has been re-recording her first 6 albums to regain control of her art since she wrote all the songs. She only has 2 left to record but she has been doing the re-records while also being on the highest grossing tour of all time and she is releasing a brand new album next month so the girl has been busy 😂 any song or album that has the name but then says Taylor’s Version after it are the ones she regained control of.
@@psychobetha Covid led me to not being able to work anymore from complications I got from it and it devastated me to not be able to do what I love anymore. I worked in a prison so we had trouble keeping it controlled with that many people confined to one space.
Both folklore and evermore (pandemic albums) are probably the most loved among the fans. She truly took her story telling to a whole different level with both of these albums.
Kobe was a Swiftie. There is an interview of him talking about Taylor and his respect for her and what a momba she is. She still stays in touch with Vanessa and the girls. God I loved him so much and I think they would have created projects together
Folklore is an amazing album recorded during COVID. It shows you how good Taylor is in every respect, songwriting, singing, and her emotional commitment. Perfection!
I genuinely can’t believe they managed that duet in during a frickin livestream when they were a thousand miles apart. Just wild to me. I love how he goes high when she goes low. You might want the Long Pond version of the song for your playlist-or both versions. I do that sometimes. 😂 “This Is Me Trying” is such a personal song. I feel like she fundamentally understands a particular struggle I’ve had in a way that almost no one i speak to seems to get. Every day they (we, I) are fighting. But nobody pats (us, me) on the head every day. People have no idea who is and isn’t struggling, and trying to HIDE that struggle is such a challenge… But not hiding it means vulnerability, y’know? Thanks for the encouragement after the first song, man. I needed that. Best wishes for you, too.
My jaw dropped when I saw this, I wasn't sure you would be ready for the really deep stuff. But I am glad you liked/loved them, especially Exile. Taylor released folklore with only a few hour's notice and she dropped the whole album at one time, not just one or two songs at a time, the way it is normally done. All the Swifties were in shock, then 5 months later she dropped another whole album on us, evermore. These 2 albums gained Taylor a lot of male fans. By these 2 songs you know these songs on average are not for 10 yr. old girls. The media thinks Taylor's fans are preteen to teen girls. If they took the time to listen to songs that aren't radio hits, they would know better. Warning though, in these 2 albums, Taylor started using the F-word, but for some reason coming out of Taylor, it doesn't even sound offensive. On folklore, 3 songs are a teenage love triangle, Cardigan, August, and Betty, Cardigan is Betty's POV, August is the POV of the other girl who is not given a name (Taylor has said she thinks of her as Augustine), and Betty is the POV of James. Most of the songs on these 2 albums are fictitious, but some are personal, but that would be another couple of paragraphs. Taylor calls these albums sister albums, she really helped a lot of people get through the pandemic.
Yes, this is one of my all-time favorite Taylor Swift songs. And a lot of people don't even know it at all. It didn't get much radio airplay at all. (Maybe none.) It's such a great song about the ending of relationships, how people feel like no one listened to the other, no one was able to read the other's mind, and how a person can feel like "home" until the day they no longer do.
PS: Glad you found the video of Taylor, Jack & Aaron discussing the writing of Exile and how Bon Iver became involved. I understand why you were surprised she was worried about asking Bon Iver to collab but as you get to see more of Taylor the person you will get it. Yes she is confident in her abilities but she’s not arrogant or full of ego although the media like to make it seem she is. Like all of us she has people she looks up too and she gets starstruck too. Just because a lot of people see her as the pinnacle doesn’t mean she see’s herself that way or that she doesn’t have deep scars from both the media and people she loved when she was younger. So many told her she wasn’t “cool” enough or too country, too pop and just didn’t give her the respect she deserved for much too long. You’ve seen All To Well and heard about Jake Gyllenhaal, her first real love who kept her hidden because she was bad for his image as a “serious actor” and “cool Brooklyn Indy scene” guy. Once their romance became public and they were photographed together, ironically on the upstate get away in the fall scarf & all, he broke her heart not long after and came back and broke it again several more times (We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together also about him as is I’ll Bet You Think About Me, a vault track with a great music video). It’s funny that some of his Indy heroes who were “better” than Taylor are Bon Iver and Aaron Dressler of The National. Aaron was involved with the whole album, he’s worked with her on several more, is in the Bet You Think About Me video and played with her band on SNL. Also Long Pond is his studio. A real full circle moment for her. If you have Disney+ I would highly recommend watching the whole Long Pond film. If you have Netflix (may be available on TH-cam) I have recommend you watch and maybe even react too Miss Americana, a documentary done at the time the Reputation tour was happening. You will understand so much more about her, what she’s been through and how much she cares about not just her fans but everyone. Her songs strike such a cord because she’s a very empathetic person. Being empathetic is a gift and a curse, it makes you more caring and aware when you can feel others pain but it can also be very hard to not take that pain on yourself and even harder to heal from your own pain.
The video was recorded during COVID ... that's why Justin is wearing the mask. They are actually in different parts of the country as they are recording this.
Justin Vernon (band is Bon Iver) had a mask because it was September 2020; vaccines weren't available, and he had a cameraman in to film his part. Taylor and Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner are in Aaron's studio in upstate NY; they aren't even recording at the same time of day. You can see the difference in the windows. The documentary film was directed by Taylor; the cameras in the Long Pond Studio and the outside cameras were all set up in advance; and everyone there could quarantine together. Aaron and Taylor wrote a lot of her next album (Evermore) during and just after filming these live sessions (so: April to July for folklore; September to December for Evermore). . And working on some songs for Dessner and Vernon's collaboration Big Red Machine album (called, How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last?). Taylor featured on two songs for that, too. Oh, and a couple music videos she put out. Too fast for vinyl, especially since she didn't tell her label she was recording anything! It was months before anyone could buy the actual album
Taylor produced 2 full albums during Covid. She needed to stay productive because after 2 days she was going stir crazy. Exile is my favorite song from the Long Pond Studio sessions. Justin Vernon (aka Bon Iver) has such an incredible voice range that his addition to this song is enormous. He was the perfect choice for this duet. It was like they were having an argument but singing it. So beautiful but heartbreaking at the same time. Neither one was understanding the other. Taylor showed up in England to Justin’s concert, unbeknownst to his fans, and the crowd went wild. He started to sing this song alone and she came in just before her version and it was so beautiful. Two very talented artists. I, too, was shocked that she was too shy to ask Justin to be on this song. His additions to it were absolutely perfect. I also like “Epiphany” for veterans of all ages and times and also the frontline during the pandemic of Covid as well as “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” (her friend, Claire, had a miscarriage. People think she only writes about breakups, but it’s so not true. She’s very versatile. “Only the young” is about the fate of the world being in the hands of the young and how we need them to step up to make positive changes for our country, government and planet. She thinks about so much more than men/boys but her old label wanted her in a small box. She’s now free of that awful 13 year box of a contract (she is still fighting to get some of her masters back. That’s a huge and long story). Fans are eagerly awaiting for her “stolen lullabies” (an important line from “my tears ricochet”) the still unreturned masters, to finally be returned to their rightful owner, Taylor. ❤❤
I’m glad you are getting into these deeper songs. To me the 2 albums she wrote during covid (folklore and evermore) are the best lyrics she has ever written. I can listen to both albums in full with no skips which is rare for me. She released both of those albums secretly with no marketing 9 months apart from each other and both did very well and folklore won quite a few Grammys including album of the year.
Folklore & Evermore is when I really got into Taylor. Of course I knew of her, but hadn't really listened to her in several years. With COVID I had plenty of downtime so I took a chance and got both albums when they came out. I was amazed at how good they both were and that they were very much the type of songs I'm drawn to. I absolutely LOVE Exile and This is Me Trying. There are so many good songs. I cannot wait for Tortured Poets. I'm sure it will be gut-wrenching, but she does those types of songs so well. I've since filled in the other albums (Taylor's Versions + Midnights) but am waiting for TV to get Rep and TS. I think the vault tracks on Rep are going to be next level.
Thank you so much for sharing your story & being so open & vulnerable! It's hard to do for a lot of people, especially men sometimes, so I really appreciate you putting yourself out there, friend! Great reaction❤ PS- You're going to love the rest of the Long Pond Studio Sessions, especially My Tears Ricochet. It's about Scott Borchetta, who owned the label she was with for her first 6 albums. He was like a second father to Taylor & she loved & trusted him. Then he betrayed her by selling her masters to Scooter Braun (who she despises for bullying her for years) even though she had been trying to buy her masters for years! The betrayel was devastating for her & you feel it in this song! This is why you'll see albums & songs that say "Taylor's Version" because she's literally re-recording all of her first six albums to gain back her Masters!
So much of Taylor's mysic is cathartic. It gets you even if its not always your personal story. I persfeel its a coming together ofvthe empathetic heart. It binds us. And helps us. It also helps us enjoy the happy and hopeful times as well.
@@KingGreatnessKG Taylor herself has quite a low register naturally, so it's apparent why she idolizes Bon Iver so much. It's so impressive when people have such vast vocal ranges.
So glad you loved Exile. I agree it’s a gorgeous song! The entire album was made during Covid which is why I think she and Jack and Aaron recorded in the Long Pond studio out in the boonies! And as you’ll read Justin was just being careful with the mask. Folklore is just an awesome record! I wish she had the Long Pond style discussions about her songs with all her albums. You’ll find some of her more poetic lyrics aren’t always the easiest to dissect!
Thanks for doing the videos so quickly and pronoucing my name right (Reny). Great reactions, Exile is my fav as well. The combination of their voices is perfection and I did warn you when I said it was beautiful (those improv notes he hits in the first verse!). All of Forklore is gorgeous, My Tears Ricochet is very special as well. It’s about the hurt and betrayal she felt when her industry father figure sold her soul (her music) to an enemy. She did try to buy her masters but he sold them out from under her. Another song of hers that is both beautiful and heartbreaking is Soon You’ll Get Better from her Lover album. It’s about her own inner struggle to keep a brave face while her mother was fighting cancer. Fortunately her mother made it. Mine didn’t and I feel every word & the tears that flow heal.
Interestingly you mentioned Kobe, Kobe and Taylor are a whole other story, a good one, anyway Kobe's youngest daughter went to the Eras concert and she was chosen to receive the 22 hat, it is a copy of the hat (signed by Taylor inside of the hat) used in the song 22 MV. Taylor does this at each show when she sings 22.
I'm always fascinated how well their voices hamonize. This song is so beautiful! ❤ My suggestion would be Out of the Woods live at the Grammy Museum. It's only her on the piano and she also explains a little bit beforehand. And if you want you could compare it to the live version of the 1989 tour. Same song, completely different experience (but both great). 😉
I love your Taylor reactions. You are very insightful and willing to be vulnerable with your viewers. You’ve earned another subscriber. What’s the music playing in your intro? I need that in my life.
Kobe presented her a banner at the Staples Center in '15 of her accomplishment of 16 shows there. Years later under pressure of the fanbase (fearing a jinx)- the LA Kings tarped over it & then later removed it. Kobe called Swift Killer... Sep 10, 2019 In this interview clip, the incredible Kobe Bryant talks about his admiration and respect for Taylor Swift as both a musician (he's a real fan) and as a creative machine. th-cam.com/video/0KUa_RegHjg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MnbcX0tUw3XP_-qf
Bon Iver does the chorus on Eminem's Fall. One of my favorites, even though they apparently had a FALLing out. LOL Taylor has covered Eminem - she loves him. My Tears Ricochet is my favorite off of this album. Great reaction.
I just read an article about Justin. He hinted that the mask was due to covid, but also gave his voice a bit of a muffled sound he felt paired with Folklore. This is an interesting piece about Justin... Why doesn t Bon Iver show his face? I think that how people look and how their music sounds sometimes go hand in hand, but I am not trying to do that. "And I don't really love meeting too many people, because I don't have time to be their friend. The whole thing," he concludes, "is that faces are for friends only. That's what I think."Sep 24, 2016
If you liked Exile, you would probably enjoy "The Last Time" featuring Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol. It was on Taylor's Red album... just make sure it's Taylor's Version or the music video (recorded live from her Red tour).
just a little heads up - the album version and long pond versions are a little different, i think you added the album version - which is also amazing, but i prefer the long pond over it, it has more harmonisation. am glad you liked the songs! folklore is a beautiful album :)
When I hear Exile, I think about the parallels with the song Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars. Taylor collaborated with The Civil Wars 12 years ago on the song Safe & Sound from the Hunger Games soundtrack. The melody is amazing just like Taylor and Justin in Exile. Justin Vernon is a living legend, already. She’s kinda being humble, but I can assure you that she was intimidated by the prospect of asking him this 😀 The mask is for solidarity… COVID
Awesome! Ever since I started watching your reactions i like you, but not I like you better every time because you notice many factors on each song and you show/express/tell your viewers some points about your personal life which makes you a bit vulnerable just by sharing; and that is powerful!!! Keep it up! Loving it!!! 😃
I’m glad you enjoyed these songs.😊 Seems like you definitely have an interest on the production side of music. If that’s the case, you might want to check out Swift’s Evermore album at some point. (Whether or not you decide to react to it.) The production is really interesting. Like Folklore, it’s elegant and restrained. What’s a little different from Folklore is, if you really listen, a number of the Evermore songs have a more “layered” production. There’s a lot going on but, somehow, it remains subtle, allowing the lyrics to take center stage.
We love YOU! Thanks for reacting to these. I was pretty sure Exile was going to be the song for you. I think you might be interested in Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve (the lyric video) and No Body No Crime (lyric video).
Hey King …. When fear innoculum from tool dropped in 2019 it beat Taylor Swift for #1 album after 13 years without an album!!!!! You have only heard Danny Carey drum cam from Pneuma from that album…# food for though 🤔 lol
Your secrets safe with me 😂 truly spiritual band studied in the arts of opening shakra points with tribal beats, guitar tones and hauntingly chanting lyrics… my favorite band ever ( but I know you were digging the early progressive of rush) which is why o chose dream theater for my birthday…. I like to share and you will dig them ( I think? 🤔 lol…
Interesting how you picked up on Swift being afraid to ask someone for a collaboration. Yes, she’s still got her insecurities regarding her music. (At least she did at this point.) From what I’ve picked up, more than anything, Swift has wanted to be taken seriously as an artist. And there are a lot of people who, unfortunately, don’t consider country, and especially commercial pop, to be “serious” music. To be fair, at least on the commercial pop side, there are reasons for that. But, when done really well, I think they can be Art with a capital “A”. At any rate, I think Swift’s desire to be taken seriously, combined with the unrelenting criticism she’s received from some corners, made her afraid that respected artists like Dessner and Vernon wouldn’t want to work with her.
I love your taylor reactions so far 🫶 Im not sure how you feel about country, but there's a really good song she wrote for her 1st album called the outside and she talks about the song in this video th-cam.com/video/pg9_zhVP3ks/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JAbgUN5ikC7mSA2F

Perfection is a perfect word. Bon Iver is my new favorite male artist.
I always get chills when Justin Vernon goes from his soothing deep voice to that beautiful falsetto like come ON, let's GOOO! lol
Right!!!
@@KingGreatnessKG Taylor herself has quite a low register naturally, so it's apparent why she idolizes Bon Iver so much. It's so impressive when people have such vast vocal ranges.
Those are the best singers to me! Takes me on an unexpected audio journey
There’s a video of her singing this on the piano with the crowd at her LA eras tour show and it was amazing. Exile is such a good song
❤ Exile is my favorite song of hers....so glad you liked it also.
Thanks Shannon ❤️
I love these 🩶 My favorite is My Tears Ricochet. The emotions in her face and the sentiment behind the song are both so relatable.
Stay tuned. Thanks for your continued support. 💙
Both songs Are my favourite ❤❤. Taylor swift is my therapist
She’s really humble so I think she is just over the moon with her features and so grateful.
Pouring heart out to a stranger reminds me of 12 step groups.
So glad you finally got to some of her deeper music. There is so much more. My Tears Ricochet is also amazing on the long pond studio session.
Exile is one of my favorite all time songs. Their vocals together is so powerful!
Ephipany is amazing..the whole album ❤
@@alcap-z5d I concur.
Yes! Download the whole album! Folklore is some of her best work! 💜
I'm always fascinated how well their voices hamonize. This song is so beautiful! ❤
My suggestion would be Out of the Woods live at the Grammy Museum. It's only her on the piano and she also explains a little bit beforehand. And if you want you could compare it to the live version of the 1989 tour. Same song, completely different experience (but both great). 😉
Love your reaction! Thank you for sharing your vulnerable thoughts ❤❤
Thank you for your time Shandra
❤️ 👑
I love your Taylor reactions. You are very insightful and willing to be vulnerable with your viewers. You’ve earned another subscriber. What’s the music playing in your intro? I need that in my life.
It’s an instrumental I produced myself! Maybe I need to release it… thanks for the sub and welcome to the Greatness Gang community 👑 ❤️
❤ both songs hit me so hard every time I hear them. Well done
Thanks Carsten
I really like what you said right before you started the first video. It really resonated with me.
Thank you
Kobe presented her a banner at the Staples Center in '15 of her accomplishment of 16 shows there. Years later under pressure of the fanbase (fearing a jinx)- the LA Kings tarped over it & then later removed it.
Kobe called Swift Killer...
Sep 10, 2019
In this interview clip, the incredible Kobe Bryant talks about his admiration and respect for Taylor Swift as both a musician (he's a real fan) and as a creative machine.

This is me trying hits hard for me.
Proud of you for sticking through your tough times! ❤
❤️ 👑
Love this ❤ thank you yea covid production and collabersted from different places. So great.
Perfection indeed I cry every time I watch it thank you for reacting to these songs, do the whole album
Stay tuned Kathy thanks!
Be prepared to add more Taylor songs to your playlist, she really is amazing, love seeing new love for Taylor and thanks for sharing!
I think sometimes Taylor is a shy girl that forgets who she is. She used to feel like an outsider and seems that fear sometimes creeps in. ❤
Bon Iver does the chorus on Eminem's Fall. One of my favorites, even though they apparently had a FALLing out. LOL
Taylor has covered Eminem - she loves him.

You can also download this version (Long Pond Version) of Exile if you prefer it over the full production one. Both are great
Another great song with Taylor & Justin is evermore which is the title track on the album. Definitely check out the lyric video for it.
Amazing song indeed.
Love this tune ❤❤
just a little heads up - the album version and long pond versions are a little different, i think you added the album version - which is also amazing, but i prefer the long pond over it, it has more harmonisation.
am glad you liked the songs! folklore is a beautiful album :)
TAYLOR SWIFT was shy to ask Bon Iver to collaborate with her because she was afraid of rejection. WTF???
11:08- 😢 Thank You💜
🙏🏽 ❤️
When I hear Exile, I think about the parallels with the song Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars.
Taylor collaborated with The Civil Wars 12 years ago on the song Safe & Sound from the Hunger Games soundtrack.
The melody is amazing just like Taylor and Justin in Exile.

Justin Vernon is a living legend, already. She’s kinda being humble, but I can assure you that she was intimidated by the prospect of asking him this 😀
The mask is for solidarity… COVID
❤
Awesome! Ever since I started watching your reactions i like you, but not I like you better every time because you notice many factors on each song and you show/express/tell your viewers some points about your personal life which makes you a bit vulnerable just by sharing; and that is powerful!!! Keep it up! Loving it!!! 😃
I appreciate that 👑 ❤️
I’m glad you enjoyed these songs.😊
Seems like you definitely have an interest on the production side of music. If that’s the case, you might want to check out Swift’s Evermore album at some point. (Whether or not you decide to react to it.)
The production is really interesting. Like Folklore, it’s elegant and restrained. What’s a little different from Folklore is, if you really listen, a number of the Evermore songs have a more “layered” production. There’s a lot going on but, somehow, it remains subtle, allowing the lyrics to take center stage.
This was during the lock down. Maybe he was sick. Or scared of being sick. This was in like summer 2020.
I’m so glad I found your channel. Love your reactions. Folklore is one of my favorite albums. :)
Glad you like them!
We love YOU! Thanks for reacting to these. I was pretty sure Exile was going to be the song for you. I think you might be interested in Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve (the lyric video) and No Body No Crime (lyric video).
Thanks ❤️
Try Cornelia street live from Paris just her & guitar or 1989 tour out of the woods, or I did something bad reputation don't blame me is Also sexy
This was recorded during lockdown.
Hey King …. When fear innoculum from tool dropped in 2019 it beat Taylor Swift for #1 album after 13 years without an album!!!!! You have only heard Danny Carey drum cam from Pneuma from that album…# food for though 🤔 lol
Another tool reaction on the way. 🤫 don’t tell anyone…
🤔 lol…
@JasonTurner-uk9rk looking forward to that reaction! 👀
The following are fantastic writing and i think you might enjoy them;

He’s wearing the mask because it’s during covid. ❤
I love your taylor reactions so far 🫶
Im not sure how you feel about country, but there's a really good song she wrote for her 1st album called the outside and she talks about the song in this video
