The people who come up with this rubbish seem to miss the fact that HDMI sends digital signals, and as long as they get through without errors, the receiving device will have an exact copy of what the sending device had.

The problem with that is that it's a digital signal. So yes, while the cable might stand up to noisy environments better, that's a tangible benefit. It works, or it doesn't.

@Mario Even the cheapo £1.00 cables dont do that. I have never seen a HDMI cable garble the image or sound, except ones that a dog chewed. The shielding and wiring in even the cheapest ones is good enough for digital pulses to get through.
@Mario The signal getting processed by the screen is exactly the same though. There is literally no way in which a more expensive HDMI cable can create "better contrasts", "more vibrant colors" or "deeper blacks". It's just physically not possible.
It is a waveguide. As such it doesn't matter much what the conductor does, but how the medium where the EM waves travels behave (ie the *plastic* dielectric between the conductors and the geometry of the conductors). Also it's quite important that the impedance of the cable waveguide exactly matches the impedances of the connectors so you get no reflections. Having better conductivity only helps with resistive losses, allowing for longer lengths.

There's actually a difference between a 5 buck HDMI cable and a 25 bucks HDMI cable, but it mostly comes down to the voltage of the device. For example, the XBox One X and PS4 Pro could potentially have refreshing rate issues with a low-end HDMI cable if used with a 4K TV or a 3D 1080p TV. That's because the 4K and 3D 1080p TV requires a higher voltage and the low-end HDMI cables might have the signal fluctuate enough to affect the display.
Possible effect of a low-end HDMI cable could be:
• Discoloration and darker colors.
(You can use the settings on the TV to boost the color, but this will reduce the durability of the screen's pixels.)
• Drop in the refresh rate.
• Damage to the HDMI cable.
The thing is that the market and manufacturers' products evolve so what I explained might not affect everyone who buy a low-end HDMI cable. It's a bit like the difference between an Ethernet cable 3.0, 4.0, 5.0e, etc. Relatively same principle, slightly different technology and huge difference when it counts.

Honestly everything they've done, from using purer copper, silver and gold plate, to using a twisted wire layout does improve the signal conductivity of the cable. However given the fact that this is still a digital cable, it will give absolutely 0 benefit.
In an analogue cable though these techniques do legitimately improve performance, though that may only be noticeable by instruments and not by personal observation.

As a metrologist, the only time you need ultra expensive cables is for high precision power measurements. You will never see a difference in person with standardized cables like HDMI.
I just realized that the double helix strand inside of it if anything, only makes the wire needed to be at least double the length of the final length of the cable. Which would reduce the signal integrity. Good job Wireworld, good job.

Many expensive audio cables are worse than cheaper ones because they have higher capacitance. Edit: This cable uses the same dual conductor design that causes it. Higher capacitance, but increased immunity to rf, which isn't a problem in digital signal cables.
Every year or so I will read the Amazon reviews of the most insanely overpriced HDMI cables. It's always has some of the best comic relief of the year
