This ethernet cable clearly serves a purpose, so comparing it with a gold plated HDMI cable is disingenuous. I didn't put gold in citation marks, because the cables are indeed gold plated. Gold plating is cheap, and the reason why even a 10USD net card will be gold plated, it serves a purpose.

I'm much more addicted to social media than I ever was to Raid. And I would bet that that's the case for most people. Also, the costs of social media are much greater comparatively. But you are probably right, it's probably a negative overall. Raid is a meme that I enjoy, but not enough for me to die on this hill. Still a great meme tho.

That's a great point. If the point of failure that was deigned to be a small plastic piece is now unbreakable, it's definitely gonna be your computer that breaks now. Luckily the only time I've ever broken one was when they were actually unplugged and the clip got snagged on something else, that's the only annoying part about them.
If you use the fancier connector that Linus showed (the one that looks like XLR) then it is pretty unlikley to break there either

@@GB-oj2gt fair points. I would argue that compared to social media platforms and some other games, Raid isn't that bad. Not great definitely, but also definitely not the worst of the bunch. I'm much more addicted to social media than I ever was to Raid. And I would bet that that's the case for most people. Also, the costs of social media are much greater comparatively. But you are probably right, it's probably a negative overall. Raid is a meme that I enjoy, but not enough for me to die on this hill. Still a great meme tho.
