    For the second part of the decreases of the hat, I think we are supposed to continue to do decreases at both sides, so it would be slip knit k2tog knit purl 2 together, turn, knit everything but knit last stitch together. If you do this 6 times you end up with 2 stitches on both sides and 7 in the middle
    Hope this helps! Because the instructions are a bit unclear on that part
    Otherwise it is a very nice tutorial, love the result!

    For the first round of decreases we do on one side “purl 2 together” and on the other side “slip, knit, pull through the last one”, but then the pattern looks different ok both sides. Is there another way to decrease so that it shows as a full garter stitch and does not show the knit stitches?

    • @VitaCrafts
      @VitaCrafts  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Which decrease do you mean? First part when we work just the central part and pick stitches from sides?

    This is beautiful but it's a bit confusing. Okay for beginners, but at the same time not so much cuz theres clarifications needed, especially in regards to stitch counts.
    On 9:00 you said 19 stitches in the middle, but the math won't add up for 55 stitches. That would leave only 18 sts on each side, but then you said it's 18 sts + 1. Then wouldn't that make 19 sts on each side, and only 17 sts in the middle? I did count your stitches on the video and it's only 17 sts in the middle part (tho you said 19).
    I've already started on this part and I realized too late that it didn't add up. I don't want to repeat from the very beginning.

      @@pinkishhaven5158 You should watch all video with attention before starting and make sure you understood everything. If you are beginner and can't understand the construction and principle, maybe you need to practice more 🧶🤗❤️

      I do. I've repeated the video many times and even downloaded it on TH-cam. I've made beanies and gloves on circular and DPNs before, this is just the first time I'm making a bonnet on straight needles.
      Some of the instructions are unclear, as another comment pointed out. Especially on the decreasing part...the verbal instructions not matching with what's on the video. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh.
      Still, it's a nice tutorial and a very cute bonnet. Hope you make another one (if you do decide to make another one, please make a slow mo, repeat and close up). I'm excited for the pattern of this when you make one.

      @pinkishhaven5158 Thank you for feedback. This is quite old video and I am not professional designer yet, but working on it and learning to create knitting patterns in English. Lot of differences in techniques, special language and other things to consider due my non English language origines.
      In this particular pattern everything is clear and simple, but maybe not for compleat beginners. I am happy to help with understanding of the construction. Pop me a PM in FB or Instagram. Same name 🧶🤗❤️

    I don‘t understand the decreases when we take from both sides and it is not shown in the video.
    The one round you show has slip, knit, knit together, knit until there are 4 stitches, knit two together, knit 1, purl two together.
    Then we just do all knit stitches on the other side until the gap and turn.
    Once we are back is it slip, knit, knit two together again? And then on the other end do we purl together? That would mean we are not „taking/decreasing“ from both sides because the decrease stitches never go further than the gap..
    Please help if you can! If you could maybe write the steps out like I did, that would be great!Thank you!

    • @VitaCrafts
      @VitaCrafts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You will leave central stitches always the same number and decrease knitting or purling 2 together from both sides of this central part. And after certain point you will decrease number of stitches in a central part as well to create a right anatomical shape. Try to watch video more and understand a principal.
