Looking forward to the video on the permanent foundation tiny home video you talked about.
We discussed a lot of things the other day, haha. We got financing by calling it a custom travel trailer, not a tiny home and went through a credit union instead of a bank. After the papers were signed and funds deposited, our lender emailed and found out it was a tiny house, not an actual travel trailer-haha too late now! I’m not sure if that’s what Natalie was thinking or not but secret is out now!

I watched your podcast episode. It sounds like you discourage rv-ing in a tiny house. It seems to me that if you are starting from scratch, the sky is the limit. Whatever limitations you feel tiny houses have as RVs, design it out! Are they too heavy? Make it lighter! Is it too hard to build to RVIA Certification? YOU CAN DO IT! Add the tanks and the batteries to your design! If you want to build a tiny house RV, it can be done! 😊

Hi Jennifer! These are great points! You CAN get a tiny house designed to be a travel trailer, and we have done lots of 119.2 ansi RVs as tinys... There are some differences between the two structures that make them operate VERY differently from one another, however. You can call me at your earliest convenience to discuss your questions... Does one need a permitted load for each state the home is going through?
Generally, yes... I know that's not 'awesome' news, BUT, here's an example.. CO-$30, KS-$20, MO-$15, IL-$15, UT-$10 NV-$25, CA-$16.. No more than $200 cross country 😊

The permit applies to any vehicle over 8'6", then term "park model" only limits the size to an aggregate 400ft². A park model is just a tiny house without holding tanks, and is ANSI 119.5 code certified. Also, a park model doesn't have to be "oversized" to be a park model RV., 👌
Q: doesn't the 8.5 ft wide make it easier to fit into tiny spaces?
Yes, narrower houses for narrower spaces, but we are not seeing many of hoses built anymore. We are talking to more and more people who want wider than 8-ish' wide. We build more 10' wide stuff by far each year, and the disparity between the sizes is growing year over year. - Damon
I apologize. I’m confused a little. Is it better to get it built to ANSI code or RVIA?
The confusion is that the RVIA is some code... It is the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association. ANSI code 119.2 is for travel trailer RVs, and that is what the RVIA use to certify to. Park model ANSI 119.5 is for bigger stuff, no tanks, hookups to grid systems vs batteries, tanks, etc. It all depends on what you plan to use the Tiny home for, as that is what is best to build or certify to. They just sold over 100 15 k tinies... not yrs ago but just prior to labor day

Had been building for nearly 10 yrs
Has "multiple communities"
Sell for between 15 to 100k thus far
Not a fly by night builder
Has a legacy of building reg homes...
So please check your info
As am sure others have built too
