Shaye is no stranger to building and designing tiny homes. She has over 10 years of experience with tiny homes and this modular tiny house is evidence of her expertise! There are tons of clever design elements executed in this build.
When all three sections of this tiny home are put together, it creates a fabulous living situation. Can you imagine having this on a remote piece of land!? Also, another great function of this tiny home would be the possibility of giving children their own personal space while living tiny.
While this tiny home is an AirBnb, we wanted to share it on the channel because we felt as though there is a ton to learn from Shaye. My favorite design element is separation achieved with this design. As many of you know, most tiny homes feel as though there is only one room with different sections. Her design really pulled off the separation of space that most tiny homes do not have!

This is an excellent way to create housing in the 21st century! The system is reminiscent of the ‘starter homes’ built post WWII only now, having the option to add space into a unified design, if and when required. Smart use of resources! 💫
I remember you from a Bryce video. I loved the deck rooftop garden outside your loft bedroom. I am happy to see you continuing your tiny house journey, albeit with a B&B, and am happy that you are still doing such great design. (Love the pull-out table in the island. Great idea!) Overall - elegant functional design.
I remember seeing her on a Bryce video also. Her tiny house was and still is one of my favorite tiny houses. Loved the rooftop gardens she had.
I do remember the two videos done on her tiny houses by Bryce as well. She continues to do amazing stuff with these Tiny houses.

She did a great job, I was skeptical about the fridge but when she said it’s an Airbnb it made perfect sense
I could see, if one was ready to sacrifice some counter space, that a taller, apartment-size fridge could be put in. With the design of the island (the pull-out extension) I think there would still be plenty of prep space.

Shayes is a fantastic designer and builder of tiny homes and her business is doing awesome; selling a variety of great designed homes and employing a lot of people. This new model that she is showcasing is absolutely wonderful.

Shaye is just a Master Tiny Home Designer! I was lucky enough to see this modular home at the tiny home expo we recently had in New Zealand and also have a quick chat to Shaye (I asked her how she felt about so many builders ripping off her designs 😂)… she was so gracious and said that her team just concentrate on what they are doing and creating beautiful spaces.
She is a delight and her homes are the best you will find! ❤

@@joanarc7963 yes. Both her Hazel and Sophie designs have been copied by so many!! She does have a USA builder contracted to do her designs..but the vast majority of builders have just straight out copied. I guess you have to expect it, but must be a little disheartening as the original designer.

I really like this modular approach -- as she says, so that we can adjust the "pieces" of the home depending on where we are in our life cycle.

Premium all around. She has experience and it shows. The cost of this doesn't seem low though. The modular idea is very good for some cases, to keep in mind. Only thing that didn't convince me too much is the bed in the floor. Good stuff.
Shaye always designs really interesting tiny homes. This one is particularly nice with the bedroom pod and the connecting area and outdoor deck!

The "councils" (planning boards or zoning boards) here in the States do differ, from state to state, county to county and sometimes town to town. It is actually more difficult, in my state (New Hampshire) to live in a tiny house full-time that is still on wheels/the trailer. Many places require that the house be on piers or a foundation and then a full septic system for black water is required. We are currently struggling, in our village, because our build will be totally off-grid and with no black water, due to a composting toilet. Our village "council" did not want to approve our gray water system and kicked it up to the state level. We'll need to get the state to approve our gray water disposal plans before the village council will issue a building permit for our planned tiny home. It has been dragging on for six months now. There may be a strong lobby group here that protects excavators and septic installers. We can prove to them (the state) that our composting system and gray water disposal is actually safer than a traditional septic system (which can fail, especially with flooding and we had much of that, this year!) but whether they'll accept it or not, we don't know.
Sounds like you're in the thick of it all! Good luck with gaining the permits and approval you need, and thank you for all the work you're doing to push the movement forward. 🙌 Can't wait to see your tiny home once it's completed!

They need to recognize that with the current housing situation and the absolutely OUTRAGEOUS rents and home prices that they need to try HARDER to make living tiny an option for Americans. It’s ridiculous. I’m planning on retiring to a tiny home in two years and unloading my lovely home of 23 years because property taxes and home owners insurance has made it very difficult to continue living in…
I'm trying to build in NH and the town that my family lives in/ I want to live in has a 1600 sqft minimum house size.... I don't need that much space

I love the island in the kitchen. I like how a table pops out of it. This is perfect for a small kitchen. I also like the L shaped couch; it seems so perfect for guest sleeping.

Love the design & finishes.
Love everything except the bed height. Anyone who has been a runner and developed hip/knee injuries/had surgery... the bed has to be comfortable to get in and out of. Thus 28" from the floor with a space between the bed and the floor is so much easier when hip/knee injuries and therefore sciatic pain in the hips and legs makes life comfortable. My chairs are 28" high from the floor, so my feet often don't hit the floor when seated, which I love. I am 5'7" thus average height but someone 6'2" or taller needs somewhere for their legs to go when sitting standing so seating height comfort is everything. Often when visiting I just don't sit down because the seats are too low. The three pods are a game changer and give a more homely comfortable feel. Nice designs throughout.
