I've actually eaten here twice and both times the food was amazing... and surprisingly one of times I was there I ordered the exact same food items you guys ordered. I think the only reason the server did that whole tip thing was cuz he knew you were not from Germany. I went with friends from Germany and they treated us differently... but it sounds like it was more isolated to that one server for you guys. Plus, Oktoberfest attracts a lot of Americans that they know like to tip 15-20%, in which I think the servers might get greedy and start to expect that. The knuckle I got was one of the best I'd ever had. Beer was great and atmosphere was amazing. Hopefully if you ever decide to eat there again you will have a better experience like I did. Prost!!

Just tip girl. The place and food is excellent so I don't hesitate for tipping.

The moat bad part in Bavarian Restaurants is, if you are a tourist the waiter will say the tip is not included 😂

Rathskeller sounds like tourist trap. Wouldn’t order Italian dish in Munich!
