Actually, I would reccomend not saying 'My mom is my hero' essays about that are the second most common essay, 1st being why sports is a metaphor for life.
Katie George What she meant was describe the sacrifices and efforts made on behalf of ANY Love one who has positively affected your life. My Mom is an angle because she is a Single Mother who raised a Georgetown Student and a Prospective Military Cadet at a Military Academy or University.
Mr Clasher You should use a calculator that you’re comfortable with so you’re not looking for buttons and functions on test day. The TI-84 is probably fine as long as you are confident using it!
I'm going to be honest with you here: if you are planning on using your calculator on every problem for the math ACT, you won't finish in time. It is key to do the problems in your head, using a calculator takes too much time. Anyway, just any graphing calculator that you are comfortable with, and that is allowed (check the website for what calculators are and aren't allowed!!). I used my TI-Nspire when I took my ACT
Could you maybe do a video on art school? I'd love to get the thoughts from a college expert and not like... someone who's discussing whether going to school at all is selling out to the man?
Hello Brooke! Have you ever come across SOPs where the applicants have talked about experiences like being kidnapped/abused by someone/taking drugs and gotten accepted into universities because of their honesty and how those incidents changed their lives? Thank you in advance!
Yes-- have had a student discuss incarcerated / criminal relatives. Have had kids talk about domestic abuse of their moms / etc. Just make sure the essay is about the student and their growth not just about the drama.

I know college is important, but what if you wanted to go let’s say UC Berkeley but you didn’t get in and the only option was to go to community college and transfer. Is that possible because I heard many stories about transfers having low acceptance and stuff. Also, my intended major is buisness so do you know any good schools for that? thanks.
I'm going to be a senior this year and am stressing about college. I've taken 3 AP classes so far and am going to take 2 more this year. I've also taken 2 honors but am going to take 2 more this year. I only did cross country at school for one season but I did kung fu for 9 years and earned a brown belt. My GPA is around 3.8 unweighted and 4.3 weighted. I have over 100 community service hours from tutoring kids. Before I moved to a different state in the middle of junior year, I was in the honors society at my old school. I want to try debate/forensics club this year and National Honors Society at my current school. I want to start a tutoring program here since there isn't one for more volunteer work. I also work at Chick Fil A. Do you think I can get into a good college?
