This is some useful advice for singers to find their natural vocals. Ur speaking voice is literally the base for ur singing voice. It does wonders to develop that.

There is a place for the airy voice too
    Yours is absolutely beautiful
It all depends on the emotion we want to convey in a particular song!!!

To be fair, she didn't say the airy voice didn't have a place - just that it didn't fit this song.
I only commented because lately I've noticed people finding contention in any comparison of two things - as if everything is win or lose. I'm trying not to fall into that habit. 😅 Just getting philosophical... 😊

I noticed a LOT of TH-cam/tiktok singers sings softly or airly or with headvoice. I believe because they started their singing career in their bedroom, kinda embarrassed and not confident so they sing softy. And because they still living with family so they don't dare to sing loudly. Slowly it become a habit for them to sing softly and after many years they didn't improve their vocal.

Dang I thought that was chest voice when we sound soft. I thought head voice is when we hit high notes. That’s exactly my problem when listening back to my video recordings. Instead of rich tone I hear that soft airy voice. Couldn’t figure out what’s wrong until this video, and I’m a man so yes we have these issues as well.

While learning how to sing i actually found my real voice. Because after 20 years of abuse i subconsciously had changed my voice. Much lighter and softer. Partially because i am also shy and insecure. So if you went through abuse there are chances you are not using you real voice. My real voice is much lower than what i am used to.

Do the vocal exercises. The ability to sing is like being able to do the splits. Some people are naturally flexible. Other people are tight. With enough stretching (vocal exercises) you can do the splits!! Now, you may not be naturally double jointed or able to over extend aka hit the highest of the high notes, but you can build strength in your range. In weeks, I increased my range by 2 octaves. Just by using youtube videos.

I always wondered why is it that some pop singers don't have like soul in their voice when they sing cuz some of them have very great voices. it's just that it feels empty. it feels hollow. it feels like it doesn't have a soul like it's not coming from experience or actual feelings. it's just there. I always wondered why is it that some pop singers sound like that, soulless?
