I've owned both wheel sizes at the same time and prefer the 27.5 for a more playful ride. 29er does roll faster but I feel like I can pump the 27.5 wheel better. 29er brakes harder but the 27.5 is more nimble. 29er plows rocks better but i feel like I have more control over the bike and the line with 27.5. Both are great, just pick a size and be a dick about it

Impressed with how precise u guys got with all the settings and everything
Would like to see u do it again after the lockdown on a longer track, a flow trail, a super rough trail, a really tight twisty trail basically every situation also how u think they feel against each other over jumps. Think im getting cabin fever lol

Chocolate Milk and a fan of little bikes..... you just earned a million points in my book. Thank you for not being another one of those market pushing influencer nobs. 99% of people are on stupidly long-low-slack bikes that are way too big. Small bikes are sooooo much fun and where it's at, and I personally, am usually only a few second off of pro riders times on a 2 min track so who gives a shit. Put the stop watches away ride your bike and have fun. :) :) :)

Try the Firebird with 27.5 & 29. I'm also kind of interested in seeing how much the flip-chip plays a role. So 4 runs, 1) 29 in high 2) 29 in low 3) 27.5 in high 4) 27.5 in low.

@@Lees_Media I had both my XC and DH bikes stolen from my garage a few years ago after saving up for months/years to get em. After that I realised the relatively small monthly payments, in comparison to the cost of the bikes to insure them, hurts less than knowing some little scrote is wheelieing through traffic and selling weed on a bike that can eat up a WC track. Always worth going back to the bike shop you got your bike from , explaining the situation and seeing if the techs have any cheap xc bikes they're willing to sell on the cheap to get you through lockdown.

Cheers Bernard & Barney, this is exactly the head to head test I've been looking for. Have you heard any rumours of a new/replacement for the 5.5? I've tested the Switchblade & being a shortarse riding the same local trails as you I think I'm better on 27.5 but don't want to part with my money on a frame that's 3 or 4 years into its lifecycle.

So much fun watching you shred. 27.5 for me as I don’t race and it’s just a blast to jib and jibe and play with on the trails. But they’re all good, most important thing is find the bike you love and go ride. Great vid keep it up.
