A cloaca is a bird’s vagina
Check out Sarcastic Chores review oh this episode. He makes some valid points
The "I'll f*cking die alone" line hits different when you realize that most owls mate for life, living literally alone the rest of their lives if something happens to their partner
Why does everyone mention this it's not helping with my depression this episode brought me
“Spring???? SPRING?!?! He’s been trying to build a connection with you for so long it’s practically WINTER”
-Danny Motta
Unfortunately he was trying to build connections by paying his boytoy to spend time with him, calling him belittling names without listening to protests, and telling him that he doesn't need to visit without really explaining why despite sending novel length texts to the dyslexic guy.
I didn't understand why he said winter until you said this and now that's a GENIUS line
@@helenanilsson5666 but blitzo NEVER protested. He mosty grumbles at most. Blitzo NEVER communicated why he did't like the way stolas acte around him, why SHOULD stolas think the pet names are nothign more than playful flirtation when blitzo would never say otherwise?
@@sarafontanini7051 "JUST SAY MY NAME RIGHT"
- Blitz, S1E5
Anyway, Blitz never protested the arrangement itself because he was fine with fucking Stolas as a way to pay rent for the book. That's the arrangement Stolas proposed in episode 1 and which Blitz agreed to. That's fine. Fucking Stolas is just a job that Blitz has to put up with and Blitz has made the calculation that it's a fair transaction with clear boundaries. Heck, he might even enjoy it, but no one in SW should entertain thoughts of romancing a John, 999 times out of 1000, that kind of thinking will just get you hurt. The problems come when Stolas feels dissatisfied with just being a sugar daddy and tries to uproot the arrangement without proper communication.
It's good that they broke it off though, and hopefully they can both work on themselves now.

Danny: Ranting about how he can finally catch up
Vivziepop: Puts out new episode 8 days later
Same day I’m pretty sure lol or maybe just the day after
To be fair, if she ended on that cliffhanger and waited a month or so for the next, the Stoliz fans would probably eat her alive
The most important take-away from the end of this episode is that neither Blitz or Stolas is fully at fault for how things happened. Blitz's first confused reaction was aggression, which is not great, but Stolas responded by shutting down and sending him away before he could fully process the conversation.
And the thing with Blitz isn't just "forgive him, he has trauma", it's that his trauma has manifested as an insane amount of self hatred that makes him unable to believe that anyone could love him. Stolas's feelings might be clear to the audience, but it's always gone right over Blitz's head. He's mean to Stolas because their relationship has been a power imbalance, with his livelihood basically held over his head, and he genuinely believes Stolas only sees him as a sex toy, until this episode that is. And we see the second that registers for him, he actually tries to apologize, but Stolas doesn't give him the chance. Which, yeah, it's within Stolas's rights to not stand there and take verbal abuse. So ultimately, they just both need to get on the same page and actually try to understand each other.
This. This is the tru shit
Also, to add onto your perfect take: Stolas doesn't realize ab the classism that is happening. He views Bitzø as his equal, but Bitzø thinks that Stolas is ashamed of him due to this class difference. (You can see this in his reaction when Stolas covers his face at Ozzies) We can also assume that Bitzø has experienced classism before, considering that fact that they are at the literal bottom of the pyramid (technically he is above hell hounds, but that's ab it) Bitzø also believes, and is technically trapped in their agreement of the exchange of s3x for the ability to work and yk the ability to eat. This is very apparent in his truth gas trip. Another thing that was revealed in the gas trip is that he craves affection, yet can't fathom anyone acc liking him. This is where it is most apparent that Bitzø thinks that Stolas views him as only a s3x toy. Also, Bitzø was bought by Piamon, Stolas' dad, so the classism goes HARD there. Going back to the exchange, Stolas made the agreement ab the exchange when Bitzø was being shot at and therfore Bitzø didn't have the time, energy, or environment to process the agreement. Going back to the gas trip, i think the revalation that Bitzø craves affection but does fathom the prospect that anyone could acc like him, his is where he lashes out on Stolas. But when he realizes that Stolas acc likes him, he tries to go and apologize, but he got portal yeeted out of the room. (Like you said though, good on stolas for not taking the verbal abuse from Bitzø) So yeah, messy all around.
Update on that situation: it’s better now
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm legitimately sooooooo glad to see that there's someone who genuinely understands the dynamic between these 2, because it's so frustrating to me to see Danny genuinely completely miss Blitzø's side of the story and completely hate him because he thinks it's a completely one sided thing
"Blitzo's nonchalance" Danny he's freaking the FUCK out and lying to himself about it
THANK YOU! i thought i was the only one that bothered that
“Blitzo lost, Stolas won.” No I don’t think anyone won that night. 😂
No one won, but it was a necessary loss for both of their development
My exact words😭 Danny doesn’t understand these characters
@@appa9486 I mean he definitely prefers Stolas than Blitzo.
@@appa9486 He's just fanboying a little too hard over Stolas, and forgetting that unlike the audience Blitz doesn't spend any time in birdy-boy's brain. We as an audience have spent so much time watching scenes that exist exclusively to establish Stolas' feelings and his motivation, and Blitz hasn't really been privy to those moments.
@@qdaddy9935 that is fine but he thinks that blitzo just hurts stolas on purpose with full bad intentions which is not true and then he also think stolas was making it incredibly obvious to blitzo which also isnt true, blitzo has basically only seen season1 stolas, like him saying stolas won is silly bc he obviously did not he thought he was rejected he looks miserable in the trailer
What you didn’t hear was that, in the opening song, Blitz was forcing the nonchalance, as though he was desperate to convince himself.
omg yes this! Saying "we're fine!" to yourself in the mirror through gritted teeth is anything but nonchalant lmao
Part of the problem is that stolas doesn't recognize how much power he has over blitz. But blitz 100% is aware of that power imbalance. Stolas *starting* by taking away the book triggered fight or flight, ya know?

"I'm finally caught up with Helluva boss."
Unfortunate upload timing again.
Not Danny literally skipping blitz’s side of things in every video
I usually can't stand the misunderstanding/miscommunication trope because it can always be solved with a conversation, but...what Helluva Boss showed is single-handedly the most realistic, true-to-life, and genuinely damaging-to-a-relationship misunderstanding I've seen in a very long time. Both Stolas and Blitz just don't know each other. Their communication languages are so different at a base level that they only just started to get on the same page in the last couple of seconds of talking (before Stolas cut Blitz off by teleporting him outside).
Blitz sees Stolas as this powerful, god-like royal being who treats him like a pet or a toy (as shown in Blitz's drug trip from "Truth Seekers"), and Stolas sees Blitz as a wounded lone wolf or lone moon drifting in space when not tethered to the Earth (Stolas) as seen in "Look My Way". Blitz and Stolas were tailoring their communications based on their flawed perceptions of the other person. *Stolas was gentle and very clear and vulnerable because he thought he was in a BL slice of life drama, and Blitz shouted and yelled at the godlike royal who dared to see him as a toy because Blitz thought he was in a shonen with an overall theme of classism.*
I can't imagine how hurt Stolas feels thinking back to all of the times he was so vulnerable with Blitz only to realize that Blitz saw it all as a king commanding a servant to service him. I also can't imagine how blindsided Blitz feels upon realizing that Stolas genuinely loves him and having the rug ripped out beneath him because Blitz didn't react in the correct way or because Blitz just acted according to how he understood their reality. *Stolas had no idea he was cast as the depraved villain in Blitz's head, and Blitz had no idea he was cast as the dreamy bad boy love interest in Stolas's head.* I'm struck with the narrative juxtaposition all over again. I can't help but love it.
Woah that's a whole 3 paragraph comment :0
Omg yes!
this is the best thing. seeing it in words is great
Love this!! Its so accurate, it feels like alot of people dont see both sides of it and either entirely blame Blitzø or entirely blame Stolas. Good to see someone seeing the more complex dynamic thats portrayed.
What does BL slice of life mean?
Fun fact: Blitzo isn’t being casual, he’s processing his anxiety through a classic case of denial and avoidance during that first song😢
LITERALLY
EXACTLY
A classic case of inferiority complex disguised under a fabricated big ego and disregard for others and the situation as a whole.
Exactly, Blitz is a case of mixed avoidant attachment and anxious attachment
I can relate
Its honestly so heartbreaking to me that Blitz cant fathom someone actually loving him and thinks its a rp. Like you see it on his face when he realized and than defaulted to anger as a defense
“Spring??? SPRING?!?!?! He’s been trying to build a connection with you for so long it’s practically WINTER!” - thank you for putting my feelings for Blitzø’s outburst into words, my man 🙇♀️
Danny about Blitz: "He's gotta get out of his own head. He needs to listen when people talk to him."
Vivzie about Stolas: "He's too wrapped up in his fee-fees to see reality."
Hey, a match made in Hell, afterall!
Danny needs to see this shit
Fr, my friends and I are solidly in the Blitzø Did Nothing Wrong camp. This shit was sprung on him out of nowhere, and Stolas absolutely jumpscared him with the “do you have my book?” rather than just gifting him the crystal first. I really think if Stolas had given Blitzø a couple minutes, this would’ve gone way better, but instead he instantly shut Blitzø down the moment he got an answer he didn’t want. I love the tall bird man but that shit was so out-of-touch and self-pitying

I think the reason why people get mad over the blitz slander is because when you talk about him it feels like you're ignoring how his trauma effects his behavior towards people like Stolas which he believes don't actually care about him. He's not mean to Stolas just for the sake of being mean, he really does care and we see that in small moments like when he is scared he'll die alone or when he calls out Fizz and Ozzie for mocking his relationship or most notably all of the effort he went through in this episode to try and make the night enjoyable for Stolas because that's what he was afraid was happening. His trauma has conditioned him to believe that no one really cares about him and no matter how much Stolas says so he's unable to bring himself to believe it which I think is why he gets so angry at the end. To him it was just another night of sex per their agreement so when Stolas suddenly made it very serious everything else Stolas has said throughout the season doesn't occur to Blitz because he's head is stuck in the moment and all he hears is how Stolas doesn't want him anymore. You didn't feature the moment in the video but when Blitz first tries to reason with Stolas he asks if he wasn't doing enough and that he could be better which to me is him trying to curve his behavior from very horny like he was prepared for to trying to get where Stolas is but at this point Stolas had already made up his mind that Blitz doesn't really care and actively walked away from him and when the conversation got to its most difficult point Stolas kind of took the easy way out and instead of actually arguing with Blitz when he gave him the chance he teleported him out of the mansion which I'm sure to Blitz was the biggest insult of all. Basically I think they both handled the situation horribly and the only way it would have gone any different would be if it was an entirely different situation all together.
If I see anyone blaming only Stolas or only blitz I’m gonna scream. They both fucked up, they both have unresolved trauma that they triggered in eachother
i do agree while i feel like if it were on scales blitz would be a bit heavier, but for the most part they both did have there own hand in how that relationship is now.
@@loganyou7512I actually disagree, but we both agree they are both to blame tho😅
It is definitely harder to see how stolas messed it up as it looks like his is trying very hard on the surface, and blitz is just about the most socially inept character in media. But I find Stolas issues in how he handled things in this episode to be perpetuations of his classicism and hypocrisy we see earlier in the series even though he thinks he is doing better to not be either of those things. Especially since he blindsides blitz with everything with no real warning and doesn’t let blitz process anything before storming off thinking that blitz definitely gave him an immediate straight answer.
@@joshturner6074 exacly, Stolas had this grand romantic image in his mind, and you can see when it starts failing he starts panicking and rushing through the plan, which causes Blitz to have emotional whiplash from thinking he's losing his entire business to not i guess? And then Stolas gets mad he might think its all a joke at his expense
@@kunilsen2519 @loganyou7512 I think the scales might be more towards Blitz in general, but Stolas is definitely the MVP of screwing up in this episode. No warning, no conversation, just a speech that he probably rehearsed days in advance and a checklist of things to do that didn't include letting Blitz know that he wouldn't need the book before taking it from him. You can really tell Stolas never had an actual relationship before and has an idealized vision of how romance works.
You cannot get mad at Blitzø for calling Stolas "the bird" when Stolas calls him "his little imp"
Especially when it’s just stating what he is- Ozzie even called him “Birdy babe” in ep 2.6. “My little imp” implies ownership and condescension. Furthermore, I think referring to Stolas as “the bird” in front of other people is part of Blitzø building up a wall (as Stolas references in “Look My Way”) to keep himself safe. They’re not friends, he won’t say they’re lovers, even Stolas’s name may have loaded feelings for Blitzø, so it’s just easier to flippantly say “the bird.”
Ngl Danny is kinda frustrating me lol I wonder if he’s doing it on purpose
The thing is, Stolas shows intimacy when it comes to his pet names. You see this in couples who love each other, coming up with cute names for each other. Stolas was referred to as "the bird", not "my bird" showing less of a connection. Blitz only thought of this as transactional. He knew Stolas had feelings because he acknowledged it. "Are we okay" "why does it have to be so complicated" it's because he knew Stolas might have feelings for him, that Stolas wasn't playing with him. Blitz was listening to everyone but he couldn't be dismissive anymore. He played it off as a joke instead of talking it out. Stolas had been trying to talk to him about their relationship for a while. Now it has come to a head.
@@TheKillerman3333 Personally, I don't think Blitz ever believed Stolas had feelings for him. Between his own self-loathing and what happened at Ozzie's, Blitz's mind was pretty firmly set that Stolas wasn't in love with him. But, we know from the picture he took on his phone and his quiet reaction to Stolas getting hurt that he did have budding feelings for Stolas. Him asking if they're ok is probably more to do with the fact that the last time they interacted in any form but text was when Stolas was kidnapped, tortured and almost died.
@@TheKillerman3333 well the other thing is, some petnames can be degrading someone if they dont like it. Blitz might have just put up with it because it meant he could do the transaction to keep the book but in secret hated it, which lines up with his reaction here and how he rarely(if never) smiles at ever being called that.
It took me forever to watch this episode because I immediately knew that Danny wouldn't understand Blitz and hate everything he does in the episode.
Me and you both. I keep coming to comments for reassurance that there are people reminding him that Blitzø, while an ass, isn't an ass without due cause considering his understanding and position in the circumstances. I adore Stolas, he's a sweetheart and sincere and earnest, but he's also a privileged and sheltered man who doesn't truly understand the power balance that's been struck with their transactional relationship.
this episode is so sad because obviously we know they both care about each other, but they cant see it because they are expressing it very differently. I think a lot of people forget that Blitzo does care about Stolas. He got anxious about Stolas getting bored of him, and then spent his whole day looking for things he thought Stolas would like. Even if he is only focusing on the sex (because hes got emotional problems XD), he still cares. I feel that Stolas sprung that conversation on Blitzo a bit. They are both just not communicating well and its so sad but this argument/break up needed to happen.
Danny whenever reacting to ep. 1:
"I hate this shaggy carpet with a beak"
Idk if I'm more disturbed at the I the fact that he's an owl, or he's talking to a red lizard (basically his mood towards Stolas)
Present Danny:
"98% of the characters could die and if Stolas was happy then I'd be fine with it"
"my favorite little bird boy"
"I just want him to be happy"
Me: "Who said change was bad exactly?"
he became a stolas defender ...
but at the cost of turning into a blitzo hater
Its the Ranpo effect, He hates them then when they have trauma, he loves them

Character development!
HE DIDN'T NOTICE THAT BLITZØ WAS ABOUT TO SAY "I'm sorry" BEFORE HE GOT TELEPORTED AWAY?!?!
I WAS SO ANGRY ABOUT THAT
To be fair I didn’t notice that either on my first watch-through
I mean, I hate to say it but both Blitz and Stolas are flawed, Stolas probably acted out of impulse, or just in the heat of the moment
Yeah but what is saying sorry gonna fix?
@@The_R3AL_Akutagawa he cut out pretty much every moment of Blitz having a point or being hurt by Stolas. Like, he even cut out the whole start when Blitz is crying on his knees begging for Stolas not to kill his business
The anti-Blitz bias in the fan community is crazy. More people need to realize the unequal power dynamics in Blitz and Stolas relationship. Blitz is just an imp, a class of demon that quite literally gets exploited and treated like expendable machinery by the Ars Goetia all the time.
This heavily colors the way Blitz perceives Stolas and their relationship. Couple this with the fact that, in the beginning, Stolas did in fact treat their relationship as purely transactional and treated him as a mere playtoy (he called him his "impish plaything" for example) and Blitz believing Stolas is just using him in this unequal power dynamic makes sense.
And also: We as an audience saw many vulnerable Stolas moments which Blitz did not see. We simply know more about Stolas than Blitz does in this regard.
Blitz isn't right, but Stolas hasn't been a beacon of innocence here either.
“ Even his forehead is crying”
Danny saying “But you want him to.” Then screaming “AHHHHH! Bitch I knew it!” At 16:26 is the best thing ever lmfao
LITERALLY 😂😂😂
He's like a fangirl😂
I love that I think the exact opposite. Stolas' needed this more than Blitz. Cuz Stolas never really understood how much he's hurt Blitz on treating him like a toy. Stolas for a majority of their relationship made everything about sex and this is actually a reaping of what he's planted.
And you don't just drop something like that out of nowhere. And it's out of nowhere for Blitz, because he can't comprehend the idea that someone might care, very less someone of higher status that constantly belittled him (impish little plaything)
Blitz litterly started the transaction with sex
Yeah add to that the fact that Blitz spent the whole episode trying to get ready for the full moon and I think he looked pretty excited when he first got there so if Stolas maybe warned Blitz before hand like "hey we're gonna do something different tonight only bring the book" or didn't start the conversation by asking for the book it could've gone better
I'd argue they both needed this. You're right on all counts with Stolas, but the way I'm seeing this from Blitz's perspective is that the relationship was changing in a big way, and his immediate reaction was to lash out and try to make Stolas hate him, the way we know he acted in earlier relationships. He failed to manage it, hurt Stolas in the process, and realized too late what he was doing. Now he just needs to own it to grow as a character, and maybe have a chance of working this out
@@EditDeath I totally agree. It's just that there's a need to defend Stolas in almost everyone, and I do think his softer exterior and eloquence makes him more likeable, but most people don't recognize his guilt on the matter
@@randomperson9249I fully agree, I think starting the conversation with "give me the book", was a TERRIBLE way to go abt it. Blitz is now already stressed after legit begging for his job, and it definitely triggered his fight or flight. If he maybe just said "hey, I need my book back, but don't worry I'll give you something else", that would've helped WAY better than just "hand me the book"😭
Danny in the intro hoping for stolas justice
Us: you got a big storm heading towards you
I ACTUALLY CANNOT WAIT UNTIL YOU REACT TO THE OWL HOUSE!!!!!
Even though Stolas had good intentions and Blitz is an idiot, I feel like Danny’s forgetting that Stolas kind of set himself up for failure from the beginning. He acknowledges the power dynamic in their relationship (Blitzo’s livelihood depends on the book) but he still makes the same mistakes, controlling the conversation and putting Blitzo in full panic mode while sending mixed messages. And though he views him as his equal, he habitually demeans Blitzo without realising it, like imagine calling someone “my little (insert species) here”, “my impish little plaything” . Yikes. Blitzo is also at fault definitely, I just see a lot of defense for Stolas and blaming of Blitzo.
What’s interesting about Blitzo and Stolas’s situation in this episode is how absolutely divided fans are about who’s more in the wrong, and I’m honestly enjoying it.
Blitzo and Stolas are both equals in how they’ve ruined their relationship, but for different reasons. They’re not only failing to communicate, they’re failing to communicate in a way that’s courteous to the other’s form of communication. Stolas dives too deep too fast into feelings, and Blitzo goes out of his way to avoid being vulnerable at all. They both need to relax and listen.
10000% the situation was shit from both sides. Like Stolas is my favorite character but I know for a fact that he didn’t handle this by taking into consideration what Blitzø would think. Like if he took a moment to explain after blitzø thought he was joking to be like no I’m serious and I want to talk about it. But he just shut down while Blitzø was still in panic mode. It’s like they both were at different stages of this discussion; Stolas having been thinking of this nonstop for months and Blitzø just now finding out that maybe the situation and feelings were genuinely real. Blitzø was at the beginning of the discussion while Stolas was already at the final thoughts.
Yeah i agree. Stolas is making such clear rich kid mistakes. He did not set clear boundaries nor communicate that he wanted anything but sex when he started, then has the audacity to expect more. He has set up everything in the relationship from the full moon thing to the sexually charged relationship. Blitz isnt perfect but he was under the impression that this was transactional, and there was no feelings. Stolas has a clear communication problem. In my opinion, this is a clear clash of no experience vs bad experience
@@Tired_Sandwitch You've summed up what happened in the last few minutes of this episode perfectly.
Agreed. Everyone sucks in the situation, but Stolas started the conversation by shooting himself in the foot. Stolas hurt his own feelings by not actually considering Blitzø's feelings.
its ironic that danny misunderstands blitzø the same way stolas does. both think they're not worth the other, but blitzø has all reason to because of status, stolas is royalty while blitzø is the lowest of hells hirachy. blitzø has MASSIVE self-esteem issues and tries to fix their relationship the only way he can think of - going back how it was, all about s3x.
we've seen to the end of the queen bee episode thats blitzø wants love, but when he finally realized that he had the chance and that chance is seemingly gone, too, its already to late and he snaps, understandably.
I'm kinda hoping the bias is part of the bit XP, but there are a ton of fans that see it the way Danny does, despite how misguided it is. Its Bias of what we see, versus what Blitzø never ever gets to see from Stolas
Danny didn't misunderstand. Blitzo fans did
Something that should be pointed out is how fked up deal Stolas made was.
Imagine you get out of being almost homeless because you score 1 in a thousand job, and then your boss tells you you gotta fk him to keep it.
OFC thats not what Stolas wanted, not what he meant, but thats what he did.
True! Not to mention Stolas was still in complete control of the situation, even when he tried to give Blitzo a choice. He literally put him into this situation, and haven’t given him ANY time to think. He was hoping for either an immediate positive response or nothing.
@@iammemys2213 Stolas is just as wrong as Blitzø is in this situation.
He does not listen to Blitz, he doesn’t give him any time to process what was happening, and immediately dismisses him after not getting the reaction he was initially hoping for.
Stolas LITERALLY gave blitz all the reasons to believe they were just a transactional thing, belittling blitz on several occasions, sexualising him even when blitz was clearly uncomfortable with it (remember the first half of season 1) etc.
The conflict between them is not that Stolas is good and caring, and blitz is heartless and terrible. They both don’t understand each other and do not communicate their feelings like.. at all!
The next episode is called Apology Tour, so you can prepare your soul for that
What’s sad is no one won, blitzo believes no one can love him so that’s why he thinks it’s a joke, and stolas wants to love him. It was a big miscommunication :(
He has not in fact been trying to 'build a connection ' he's as bad at communicating as Blitz is in many ways. They're oddly perfect for each other in their imperfections.
Yeah, at this rate their daughters will have to act as mediators just to get their general intentions across.
literally oh my god, he also started the interaction terribly. Stolas is just as much fucking it up as Blitz no one wants to realize that
Yeah I think like at first he was forcing Blitz and not realizing it but when he did he overcompensated by trying to talk about it but always giving him a free pass to skip
I think Stolas can be good at communication but stress and high emotions can make that really hard. Like I can communicate pretty decent but as soon as I’m emotional that all goes out the window lol
@@Adhdburnout Stolas' problem is he lacks understanding with Blitz's emotional state. If Stolas ever went to Blitz's home or talked to Blitz beyond sexual things, he might have genuine insight into how Blitz feels.
And Blitz is so insecure, he cannot quantify anyone liking him, let alone loving him. He thought all he was good for was physical intimacy, which he's pretty good at. Stolas confirmed that when he established a sexual transactional relationship in episode 1 and used pet names even though Blitz was clearly uncomfortable with it. Blitz understood it was just sex. At the same time, however, Blitz desperately wants to be loved. If you look at the differences between the 1st DHORKS episode, and the aftermath of the Beelzebub party in ep. 8, you see that he's afraid of love. He pushes people away because he's afraid and does not understand anyone valuing him for anything less than physical. But he's also terrified of being alone and desperately seeking a genuine connection. He just can't get over his own insecurities to make any romantic connections and leaves broken hearts and broken people in his wake.
Stolas didn't warn him this would be real or emotional, so Blitz was within his right to get mad. But Stolas has been holding out for a real relationship, just like Blitz, and has been aching for a real connection that he can't get from anyone else.
I think the best way to truly understand how both of them are equally at fault in the relationship, is to watch Sarcastic Chorus' videos on the ship. His most recent one goes into why Stolas was more at fault here than Blitz, while still stating what Blitz did wrong. He always shows both sides, which is why I think those vids are the best at highlighting this relationship and its problems.
I was just about to comment this lol
I was going to comment about Georgia Dow.
Yes this fr ^ I don't agree with absolutely everything SC says, but I think he really goes into stuff that typical viewers don't even realize or pick up on. And it makes you realize that Stolas isn't as perfect here as some people think he was. they are both just messed up people on a journey and we're going to see the fallout of this episode in apology tour this month, where I hope it's made really clear how at fault they both were.
And it is problems?
There’s also a part in FinnthePony’s video on it that’s a bit shorter if you don’t want to watch Sarcastic Chorus’ all the way.
“Finallly caught up with Helluva boss”
Danny, I got bad news for ya…
I loved this episode for not falling into the miscommunication trope. Stolas gets to say exactly what he means to say as clearly as he wants to say it and I love that. Also, I'm so excited that you're reacting to the Owl House! I can't wait to see what you think!
One of the things I like most about this episode is that it showcases one of Stolas' genuine flaws in a way that is played for laughs or resolved within the episode. Stolas doesn't listen well. He is often insightful and is inarguably mindful of the people he cares about, but we have seen him come to his own conclusions and move forward with them while actively ignoring what those people are saying. He does this with Octavia in both of her episodes, and does so with Blitzo repeatedly. He sees Blitzo's outburst as a rejection while ignoring that Blitzo is literally following him and shouting that he wants the confrontation and he then gives into his interpretation of the response and the pain that brings him by teleporting Blitzo away. It is great to see such a nuanced flaw displayed so well
Also. Blitz has ABSOLUTELY NO CONFLICT RESOLUTION SKILLS outside of violence. That's why he lashes out and wants to physically fight Stolas. He doesn't know how to handle the emotions so he turns to anger
@fawnallen5261 I doubt he wanted a physical fight, he's seen how powerful Stolas is, he just wants to argue aka his version of talking it out. They both messed up here.
@@fawnallen5261And that triggers Stolas because he's just getting out of an abusive relationship where Stella followed after him yelling degrading things at him.
@@amandap7599 i mean maybe? But theres been MULTIPLE times over where Stolas has just been indifferent/unaffected by stellas screaming and shit, if he isnt just yelling back at her.
@@amandap7599 Stolas usually just matches Stella snark for snark, only ever not doing so when she hired Striker to kill him. Hell, he is even able to tune out her screaming about wanting him dead while at the same table with her as she hires said assassin
Dramatic Irony: When the audience knows something the characters do not.
I feel like a lot of Stolas stans forget that Blitz isn't seeing everything we see about what's going in Stolas's mind and personal life.
Yeah, I've been noticing that when binging through reaction videos. Stolas gets trashed talked *almost* non-stop (with a breather to praise his singing in episode 2) right until we get to the "that's a mood Gabriella" in episode 7. Until that point everyone was in agreement that he was ultimately characterized as an extremely horny imp-sexual cheating bird. Then the moment we actually see things from his perspective everyone just collectively forgets what their perception of him started off as, and that Blitz still has that initial perspective.
exactly!!! - a Stolas stan
But I think this works vice versa, we know a lot more about Blitz than Stolas does
@@Star-uq2ox Absolutely. Stolas doesn't seem to know that Blitz was bought the day they had a playdate. He doesn't seem to know about Blitz's long history of losing people and his relationships (romantic or otherwise) crashing and burning.
But...he does know that Blitz is an imp. One of the lowest social classes of Hell. He knows that there is an inherent power imbalance and that if he's going to treat Blitz like an equal, he needs to be clear to Blitz that it's not a trap or mockery. Especially since his "high opinion" of Blitz doesn't appear to extend to the imp butler he used as a stress ball while on the phone with Stella earlier this season.
@@helenanilsson5666 Nah, stolas got trashed SO HARD after this ep even tho Blitz did as much damage if not more. Blitz fans try to understand trauma doesnt mean u get a pass for acting like this challenge failed once again lol Stolas tried. He genuinely tried after Ozzie's. For so many months. And its been EXPLICITLY said by Blitz and shown in various ways TO BLITZ and to the viewers. Is it Stolas's fault Blitz REFUSES to see it? And yet the fans punish Stolas so hard bc they had a sex deal, he called him a plaything ONCE and bc he is a royalty lol Lets completely forget Blitz manipulating and using him in Ozzie's. Manipulating him again and using sex in the Circus ep. Not making effort to do anything. Mocking, yelling at him and calling him names in this ep. And somehow this is all fine bc Blitz has trauma? Ridiculous. Stolas has made mistakes. Even iin this ep. But the way so many fans tried to completely absolve Blitz of everything he has done is insane. Viv herself acknowledges that both have faults. Stolas gave Blitz a chance here and Blitz sabotaged himself bc of his trauma (mocking his confession) and then took it out on Stolas. Doesnt mean Stolas has to take it lol I would have done worse than Stolas if someone did this shit to me ngl.
As a fan of both blitz and stolas, i loved how they did that conversation. obv it was upsetting, but it def needed to happen. blitz needs time away to process both his and stolas' feelings, and stolas needs a break from the anxiety. as for their argument, i think it's important to note that, while blitz seemed the most angry, he was the one to try to keep talking. he didn't leave by choice, stolas had to make him. so i think that bodes well for their future conversations.
Episode 9 just dropped in, you’re going to LOVE IT.
I love blitzø because he's clearly traumatized and separating himself from others, preventing himself from getting close to others.
Which works directly AGAINST Stolas's trauma and his anxiety. It's such a good doomed romance story, and I really hope it ends with a happy ending regardless.
I think it will, we’ve been shown that Blitzø does have feelings for Stolas, he just pushes it all down and squashes any hope for it because he’s convinced that Stolas just sees him as a toy. Rightfully so, but I also think that Blitzø has another source of trauma we haven’t seen yet. He’s made multiple comments about how “you royals think you can ALWAYS do this” and “all royals are the same” heavily implying that he has experience with another. I think he worked for some Royal when he was younger and fell for him, but got his feelings played with and strung along until he was dropped without warning. Theres something else going on inside Blitzøs head that makes him react like this. Because is he really didn’t care about Stolas at all, he probs would have been absolutely fine with the crystal and wouldn’t have gone through all that effort into trying to please him.
It either has to end all cute and happy or Romeo and Juliet style
yes! This shows in his relationship with Loona, too! I don’t think Blitzø would feel nearly as comfortable mooning and being sweet to Loona if she didn’t growl and groan about it - at least in the beginning. Since he’s been her adoptive dad for years, she could probably lighten up a bit and let him in some. I do think part of how she acts is her being young + moody - but part of it is to make Blitzø comfortable being gooey and sweet to her. She understands him, as shown in the end of the Beelzebub ep during the scene she brings him home and tucks him in.
FULL MOON WE’RE GONNA BREAK DANNY

I am SO hyped for Danny’s reactions to The Owl House 😂
Also are we just like. Not going to talk about Danny editing out all of the parts that show how hurt Blitzø has been by Stolas and this deal? 😭
11:52 it's been established that imps having businesses is extremely, unimaginably rare. As a tangent, Beelzebub is queen of gluttony, and it seems like Hellhounds are her main peeps - hellhounds also resemble what she looks like. Imps are native to Wrath, so Satan probably looks similar to imps, sloth demons are goats and Belphegor is the most goat-y demon, Asmodeus' people seem to be the Ars Goetia, who are bird-y like him, Envy demons are sharks or shark-y with Leviathan being a giant sea monster. Now, who works in shops, selling things to people? Spiders. Who's left unmentioned and is the king of greed? Mammon.
So the vendors are all spiders because they are all Mammon's demons doing Greed-y work. You'll notice they're not particularly good at engaging with lusty shit - a lust-y demon like a succubus or incubus would probably figure out what kind of candle Blitz wants, what kind of harness he might need, etc - the spiders instead just offer up everything that might fit the bill of what Blitz is asking.
First of all, great break down. Very enjoyable read.
But I do want to ask, weren't the sucubi of the lust ring?
I was kinda under the assumption the ars goatia were those who abandoned heaven with lucifer (as we see many bird like similarities in the angels in hazbin hotel also it seems like a good reason for the existence of royalty beyond the king and queen of hell)
Though that last part is just something I've seen other fans speculate on
And Lucifer is a fallen angel / human-like looking and there are the sinners, who are humans ^^
holy shit viv's world building actually makes sense? this is an awesome day
Right sucubi are from the lust Ring. The Goatia basically demon royality.
I kinda thought that the Ars Goatia were just a separate kind of people
Blitzos first reaction was a heartbreaking "I can do better". One point I think a lot of people miss is that Blitzo literally met Srolas because his dad sold him as a kid. He has abandonement issues and is trying to keep Stolas by doing the things he knows works. They both have issues.
I wonder how many time he had said this to his dad
SERIOUSLY?! Like he was literally sold... that would give someone trust issues??
how can you be in this fandom and not know what a cloaca is? You are too pure for this show, really❤😂
18:05 they both lost okay I cried sooo hard 😢😢
Blitzo has intense levels of self loathing causing him to think stolas truly doesn't love him because he thinks no one could love him. not to mention they are both at fault for how they started the relationship not just Blitzo. They all need therapy. NEITHER OF THEM IS PERFECT
Boy can't wait to see Danny completely distraught over stolas
I’m just as scared as his reaction to it as I was through the episode on my first watch
yeah thats gonna be uhh annoying sorry not sorry
honestly it's so refreshing to see a content creator give their honest opinion instead of just saying they like everyone, great vid
17:53 I really thought that you wouldn't have liked this episode because it was quite fast and all the cherubs part was rushed but I'm happier that I was wrong
My heart shattered when he didn’t put any reaction to Stolas’s line “Am I doing something I can’t take back? Would he stay here if he was free? And if he’s only here as a prisoner, what kind of monster does that make me?” Or something
Because that would detract from Blitz being the only bad part of this situationship… when it is clear they both had bad ways of dealing with the deal between them.
Eh, he already chose to ignore that part of the plot when he said the idea Stolas forced Blitzo was gaslighting on Blitzo's part😅
@@FrancescaAkira89 also, when it came to the part when blitzo was laying out his trauma so clearly and bluntly ("you royal fucks...") he LITERALLY JUST STRAIGHT UP FUCKING IGNORED IT IN ITS ENTIRETY. I don't even know what to say to that..
@@EmiyaHikari That's what got me was how Blitzo said that. As if he(or someone he knows, like his mom?) has been screwed over before because of royal "love"
How about we add the fact that in the Lulu land episode, Stolas literally put his cigarette out on Blitzø's horn? He has constantly shown him (and all imps) lack of basic decency.
Blitz's reaction actually wasn't really surprising to me. His entire life from his childhood at the circus to the business he's running to his deal with Stolas has always been about what he's providing. His entire worth is wrapped up in that and from his point of view the only relationships he has are based upon what he can do for everyone else. So when finally presented with one genuine moment where someone wants to be with him for him and not what he does for them, it makes sense that he'd read it as a bit and default back to what he has been providing. Hoping that with the next episode being called "Apology Tour" there will at least be some friendly reconciliation, even if its not romantic. Proud of the boy Stolas finally finding his self worth and clearly laying out what he wants. I too want to see more building between him and Olivia since you can see she's the only thing about his family that he cares about since she was the only part of any picture that was left uncovered during the Blitz/Stolas confrontation.
I think its gonna be more of a blitz talking with previous exes and trying to get some shit together.
Alien stage is really popular and something a lot of people would like to see. If you're worried about posting it on TH-cam due to copyright you could always make it a patreon exclusive
God I’d love an alien stage reaction
I've commented this before regarding these two on other videos about this episode but here you go, the long winded thoughts and perspectives of a complete stranger:
The compatibility is there, it's only now a matter of communication and commitment.
Blitzø has to square with his issues of self hatred, sabotaging any genuine relationship he has because he thinks he will break anyone who gets too close, and work through his childhood and teenage traumas.
Stolas while he was actively trying to do something very good here he made two errors in judgment firstly by not giving Blitzø time to sit, think, and talk about things rather assuming the lack of seriousness on Blitzø's part as rejection, secondly by controlling the flow of the conversation.
After the rant, which albeit was hurtful towards Stolas, he immediately shut Blitzø out into the street. For all of his desire to treat him as an equal, Stolas still has a level of status and power that is ingrained into his very existence through habits he has formed in himself as a member of demon royalty, one of which is assuming too much about others and not listening to what they have to say.
He cannot fathom why Blitzø can't imagine Stolas having feelings towards him, because he's has the privilege to put social status outside of his mind and treat Blitzø as an equal (as he sees it, even though his mannerisms and actions earlier on displayed a level of patronization and condescension, even unintentional like calling him a little play thing) while Blitzø doesn't get to chose that, and is completely at the mercy of Stolas's whims, who technically can decide to revoke his special treatment of Blitzø at any point in the relationship, even without the book agreement, the power imbalance would be there.
It doesn't have to be a deal breaker, we see a Deadly Sin and Imp have one of the healthiest relationships ever in that universe, but it HAS to be acknowledged by both people and discussed, not dismissed as irrelevant because regardless of how the two treat each other, the social implications still exist and will have consequences in one form or another no matter what.
It is going to take a lot of self reflection, growth separately, and clear/healthy communication to even start trying to untangle their messy history and feelings for each other.
Personally I would love to see Blitzø talk to Fizz and Ozzie, primarily because more exposure to a positive relationship between two people of different stature in society might help put things into perspective, and he needs to get reconciled in himself that he truly can move on. Closure with Veroskia might help too. Stolas should probably seek advice, should he want it, from Moxxie and Millie, as they know Blitzø extremely well and have a solid marriage with arguments they learn to work through as we saw in one episode. Also, they probably could explain the perspective of an imp in hell society that makes them feel so inferior to those above them. Stolas might benefit too from speaking with Veroskia, if only to understand what Blitzø has a habit of doing in relationships and maybe gain insight as to why, but only if she is able to reconcile with Blitzø.
It could all back fire and turn out horribly, but they desperately NEED to get outta their own heads to see things more clearly. Otherwise both will spiral and fester in despair, each of them thinking they are unlovable and broke their relationship when in reality it was a messy situation to start with and their personal baggage, lack of understanding in each other's perspectives, and terrible communication skills that resulted in this coming to a head.
The point of communication is being understood by the other party being spoken to, if that isn't being achieved or worse causing further misunderstanding, then the quality of that communication is bad. It doesn't matter how frequently or how long it is attempted. The key is not only communicating honestly and sincerely to be understood yourself but being open and accepting to understand the other person as well.
Because of how shut off emotionally these two are internally and externally, the attempt only resulted in both sides being misinterpreted. Either this will wake them both up to reflect on what went wrong or they will close themselves off even more. Possibly both will happen multiple times before they can heal and move forward.
I hope the best, but it is hell, so nothing is easy.
Danny's face of pure joy at Stolas' "but I want you to" after he just said "but you want him to" and his "ah bitch I knew it" was such a highlight lmao. Love Danny being Stolas #1 defender. Never change Danny
The fact that Blitz was going to apologise tho
The fact that Danny literally cut that away

@@josephwilliams1251 true but that's after ending a relationship without letting the other person properly answer. hate how the how Stolas taking the book screwed so much up
@@alessandroconsoli4452 He also cut the part where Blitz was desperately begging Stolas to not end their deal because his entire life depends on Stolas' whims, which is a pretty crucial reminder of how utterly unequal this relationship was. 🤔
The damage was already done, it was too late to apologize and Stolas had every right to react the way he did, Blitz really hurt his feelings. People shouldn't put their feelings to the side to comfort the person who hurt them. Blitz can shove that apology up his arse in a bad painful way and deal with the consequences of his actions. Blitz is my favorite character but he messed up bad and people are being too optimistic about their relationship and think everything would go as planned and forgetting that both of these men are flawed and traumatized people.
I’m really glad you liked the middle bits with the cherubs and Blitø shopping, because I know a lot of people were upset it wasn’t completely Stolas/Blitzø centric. But honestly I liked that there was more going on. I agree that this was a good return to form :)

You seem to keep misunderstanding blitzo's feelings towards stolas. He really does care for stolas but how he treats him has been affected by how other high class demons have treated him and his own intense levels of self loathing causing him to think stolas truly doesn't love him because he thinks no one could love him.
Yes, this
And it isn't nonchalance, it's panicked avoidance. "Are we okay? Can't really say?" He does notice and care
Everyone lost this episode. Such a heavy miscommunication on both sides, because of their own trauma.
@@evobrand1210Yep, he puts on a facade of not caring to protect himself from spiraling

No matter what you say, while Blitzo was yelling, he didn't say a single lie. Stolas gave him no heads up about anything that was going to happen. Vivienne herself said that stolas could have handled that better. I think Danny's bias for Stolas made him block out Blitzo's point of view.
Blitzo didn't lie???? He lied about everything. He blamed , antagonised and dehumanised Stolas for simply being born rich while he victimised himself when Blitzo was never a victim. Blitz has been an asshole who thinks the world revolves around him when Stolas is actually thinking of Blitzo's happiness eventhough the asshole does not deserve it
@iammemys2213 He technically didn't because he wasn't given a heads up that Stolas liked him. He just assumed it was about sex because that's what their deal was. Blitz wants love, but it's too late. I'm not saying Blitz isn't in the wrong i'm just saying it's not entirely his fault. He shouldn't have yelled but Stolas has only just figured out he likes Blitz a couple episodes ago and didn't know how to bring it up.
I feel bad though because him yelling triggered Stolas' PTSD with Stella
@@iammemys2213oh you’ll like Sarcastic Chorus’s review of the episode for a deeper dive on what people mean when they say Blitzø wasn’t lying as he yelled at Stolas.
@@KALLASALEGACYI don’t believe he has PTSD. Sarcastic Chorus did an excellent job explaining his reasoning but the best points, in my opinion, that he makes is that when Stella is literally lamenting the failed assassination and plotting her next assassination attempt in front Stolas in a full blown scream at the dinner table but Stolas has her tuned out. Then when she’s yelling at him through the phone he gives it right back. He’s avoidant by nature but he isn’t cowering and flinching at her abuse. He steps back with an attempted back hand sure like anyone would and he catches it, he fights back in private and in public, and he very publicly cheats on her with Blitzø (not that I have anything against him doing so) without fear of the consequences it has for himself.
Lmao, I love watching Danny's and Sarcastic Chorus's takes on Helluva Boss back to back. Their stark opposites in everything Stolitz!

I think what irritates me the most about the Blitz slander and saying "well, everyone has trauma, he's not special" is yeah, no duh. But we aren't all the same person and handle trauma the same, do we? We weren't raised with the same priorities, beliefs, expectations, roles in our family, etc. So while Blitz's actions and overall handling of stressful situations don't make sense to some people, there are plenty of people who relate to him and his trauma response.
The tragedy of their relationship isn't that they don't care about each other. We clearly see that they do. It's that they were raised with completely different understandings of their worth and place in the world and have entirely different approaches to communicating. Blitz has always had to feel like he has to be louder, bigger, and more aggressive just to be heard because he's no one, he's just an ex-circus imp that was overshadowed and underappreciated. Stolas has been put on a pillar and told he has to be perfect nobility his whole life while being abused and screamed at. So of course he isn't going to react well to Blitz's loud and emotional outburst. Just like Blitz isn't going to see this prince of Hell (the person he was literally rented out to as a child) and take his confession as genuine. It's heartbreaking and such a nuanced situation

I think this episode forces Blitz to look at himself for the first time, maybe ever. Stolas is very sweet and miserable, but Blitz is right. Stolas didn't even give him a chance to speak. Stolas didn't go into this expecting to have a conversation with Blitz, he doesn't mention talking even once. And they so desperately need to talk. He went into it deciding that he was going to give Blitz a choice that would determine the fate of their relationship. Blitz goes into this thinking they'll just be getting back to 'normal'. And Stolas, despite the fact that he does care, isn't taking the steps to show it because he doesn't give Blitz a heads up at all, starts off by making him think he's losing everything, before assuming Blitz's answer after the rough blow of Blitz misinterpreting his confession. He walks away from him, shuts down his attempts to talk, and despite saying he thinks so highly of Blitz and how obvious that has been to us as the audience, Stolas has never actually made it clear to Blitz's dumbass that he thought of them as equals.
thank you
Exactly, Blitzø didnt think Stolas genuinely loves him, in his eyes no one would. While Stolas is dropping hints and giving him space and cares about him but blitzø doesn't see it .
this! its always a bummer when people put the whole blame on blitzo when stolas also carries some of the blame for how things have gone. we as the audience can see how much Stolas cares about blitzo but he never actually puts it to words. if you look at their text its easy to see that Stolas doesn't communicate their feelings very well and is super passive about what he actually wants and tells blitzo that its okay that they skip their meetup which blitzo takes at face value because he couldn't even imagine that Stoals could be meaning anything else. everything could be fixed if either party would actually just express what they actually want. while the way things have ended right now are super sad, it was necessary for things to break completely so that they can take REAL steps to fixing things and building a good relationship.

Danny refuses to acknowledge Stolas set up this entire sexual transaction, never once denied it, used his racial privilege countless times, demeans Blitzø with his talking, and then says Blitzø has no reason to act the way he does.
and refuses to acknowledge that while yes blitzo has hurt stolas is this dynamic...blitzo DID actually help stolas. stolas fely ALIVE for the first time in forever and even if this divorce is definitly tough...having stella out of his life WILL help stolas and stolas didn't have to guts to do that till blitzo showed up in his life. blotzo sees himself as someone who just brings bad things into the people he's loved lives. like his lost his mom and hurt his rush/best friend and lost his home and care for his sister all because he TRIED to tell his friend how he felt and chickened out due to being put down all his life kicking into his nerves. bering emotionally vunerable doesn't really work out well for blitzo...but blitzo also doesn't notice or disregards the good he brings his friends as well. he ruined stoas's marriage with that affair..but also freed stolas from stella and aloowed stolas to stand up for himself for once. i he didn''t make imp mille and moxie wouldn't have met and fallen in love. blitzo helped fizz with the mamon situation and gave ozzie and fizz room to work on a main insecurity and help fizz have the strength to go against mamon and be honest in himself

Stolas can’t even see any other perspective than his own and outright dismisses Blitzø (like some hired help.) once he thinks Blitzø doesn’t reciprocate. Blitzø the one with SUCH self hate and SUCH self loathing he literally scratches out every photo of himself in his house. But Stolas doesn’t -actually- know Blitzø. I love both blitz and stolas, they both struggle to be honest with themselves or eachother. If they had a genuine, honest conversation then they could work out their issues, but they are just both bad at relationships due to past trauma
The two have no communication with each other, Blitzo does not want to lose Stolas but he does not know how to express his feelings and Stolas is tired of Blitzo's rejection and lets him go because he loves him, And he also wants Blitzo to understand.
Not that I think this will change your mind but Viv herself said both Blitz and Stolas made mistakes in the conversation and Sam Haft (song writer) has said that Blitz isn’t cruel, he’s self loathing and Stolas isn’t cruel, he’s sheltered. The fact that Blitz takes note of the imp butlers while Stolas doesn’t seem to understand why Blitz may feel like servant like them especially being bought for Stolas as a child, not to mention Stolas was more prepared to express his feeling since he thought that way for a while which Blitz wasnt clearly reading from Stolas making them both on different pages accidentally triggering each other. They did thier best but it’s not solely Blitz’s fault and, I don’t think Blitz knows Stolas got divorced. This whole thing started as affair. They both needed to get their say out there and I think things will slowly get better from here.
alot of people have been forgetting that in season 1 stolas basically establish's the relationship is purely transactional (atleast infront of blitz) and blitz is convinced that pretty much convinced that any trend towards the romantic stuff is just part of that transactional nature
The TRANSITION THO, it was SO GOOD, & the art got more pretty recently
