Can we all just take a breath and realize neither Stolas nor Blitz are blameless about the mess their relationship is currently in? They've both contributed with poor communication, misunderstandings and not being aware/accepting of their own personal circumstances. Blitz hates himself so much he doesn't think he can genuinely be loved. Stolas is classist and doesn't recognize their very real societal differences, and has actively undermined Blitz a lot in their relationship. They both have a lot of trauma and abuse in their past that is actively hindering them from seeing each other and their intentions clearly.

The general discourse on twitter, in reaction Videos and even on tiktok seems to be to blame one or the other for their relationship not working out. And Danny didn't really get what Stolas did wrong either so I think that's why some people are arguing about it as well.

The fact that Stolas doesn't even say "Love me back" or "You owe me this" but only "At least acknowledge my feelings for you" is the essence of unrequired Love. The Silence in the end after the light litteraly leaves his eyes... hurts.

But there was a post and drawing about a character separate from Eve who was intended to be later in the series named "Roo" or the Root of Evil, and her design elements are all over the scenery in Hell in the pilot, the series proper, and even Helluva. There was also at some point one possible explanation for the eyes in Hell being a result of the exterminations, like the energy from the executed sinners. These were in livestreams iirc, and could have changed as things finalized as well.

I think you are forgetting the beginning of the show. The whole joke in that episode was that Stolas calls Blitzo only to give him an hour-long description of what he plans to do to him in bed. I am sure that Stolas was always in love with Blitzo but up until episode 7 he was not giving him any signals that he wants more than sex.

I hate how everyone is blaming Blitz for everything. He was literally sold to a rich person by his father as a child. Same rich person asks him to be his s*x partner and now suddenly springs feelings on him and hardly gives him time to process it. If this were real life no one would be on Stolas' side. Stolas even called him his plaything in season 1 episode 6. Who in their right mind would think someone like that actually loves them?
Exactly this. I’m not sure how one can forget how unbalanced their relationship is. Blitz is an imp and therefore a lesser being and in their society Stolas has full control over his life and business. He might love Blitz but he never explicitly says so to Blitz. Blitz didn’t gaslight him into anything Stolas proposed their deal of giving Book to Blitz in exchange for sex in season 1 episode 1. Then in next couple of episodes he calls Blitz his impish little plaything etc. How is Blitz supposed to know there is more there?
Only the audience knows how he feels. Also I’m not saying Blitz is innocent but saying that Stolas is, is as wild. They are both are results of their upbringing and their trauma.

I mean, Stolas isn’t blameless in their toxic relationship. He did start their arrangement, which Blitz cannot leave without ruining his business entirely. Blitz is entirely dependent on Stolas and trapped in their relationship, and while that is Blitz’s fault for trying to steal the book, it is also Stolas’s fault for trading his book to get Blitz’s attention. That’s the whole reason he’s giving Blitz the crystal, to give Blitz his agency back
@Twinkatron6000 I feel like I need you to be more specific. Blitz was having a self-destructive spiral during ep8s1, trying escape thinking about what happened that night with Stolas. Bc again, Stolas really has only established that their relationship was a sexual transaction for all of season 1. It's clear to us as the audience that he had stronger feelings and wanted to move towards a romantic relationship by ep7s1, but Blitz is oblivious because he believes he is truly unlovable. At Ozzie's, when Fizz and Ozzie were tearing him down, Stolas reacted in dismay, but didn't try to defend him. Then, Oz brought up Octavia and Stella, Blitz and Stolas made eye contact and Stolas turned away and hid his face in shame. Blitz takes it as Stolas being ashamed of him and furthers his internal narrative that Stolas is ashamed of him. So on, so forth. He tries to forget about Stolas by losing himself in gluttony to an unhealthy degree.
@Twinkatron6000 Please clarify what in Ep8 S1 you're talking about? Because his only impact on that entire episode is Blitz spiraling in the aftermath of Stolas (accidentally, I"ll admit) reinforcing all of Blitz's worst beliefs about himself and their relationship by hiding his face during Ozzie's song in the previous episode.
THIS! Not to mention the only other instance in which Stolas and blitz interact canonically without it being a means to an end is solace is attempts to schedule a hang out via text . One could argue that they did have one during their dinner at Ozzie’s,
but it was this instance in which blitz is the one using as a means to an end and they get called out for their relationship.
Spoilers below for episode eight
This gets worse when you take into account the events of episode eight when stolas failed to recognize that imps have been mistreated throughout the history of hell, including the fact that they are seen as lower than the sinners who are sent down there. So for him to fail to recognize that blitz might not fully trust him due to this history, it further exemplifies his privilege and failure to see the situation from blitz’ perspective.
While one may argue that they establish some sort of trust during their relationship as they’ve known each other for more than 25 years , you also need to take into account that blitz has held himself at a distance emotionally due to the aforementioned history in addition to his personal history of being sold to his father during their childhood.
The reason blitz has been back-and-forth in regards to this relationship is because he wasn’t sure whether or not to actually trust Stolas, as imps have been victims to discrimination and harm by those of higher status within hell, with the only exception being fizz and Ozzys relationship.
@Twinkatron6000 I get it, but again, Blitz does not pick up on these cues bc his self-hatred and internal narrative is too strong. Stolas is doing his best, but he hasn’t been explicitly direct with Blitz about wanting to be in a romantic relationship until s2ep8. Even then, it took a lot for Blitz to understand that Stolas was being serious bc he has been telling himself no one could love him for so long.
Also, I think he’s too scared to be emotionally intimate with anyone. As Fizz stated, any romantic relationship Blitz has had went to shit. His sexual arrangement w Stolas probably is easier for him bc it keeps up the facade of emotional distance.

Blitz didn't gaslight Stolas into believing that, he genuinely believed that initially because at the beginning of the series Stolas would call him with long sex tirades and would keep bringing up sex. When Stolas began to act more loving and not solely horny, which really only started on the date night episode, Blitz didn't believe it because he doesn't believe he can be loved. Also, while Blitz was the one to initially establish their relationship as a horny one, Stolas was the one who initiated the deal where sex would be payment for the book, which basically means he put Blitz in a position where he was basically prostituting himself for the book. *That* is what Stolas was apologizing for.
We also have to consider that this is Stolas’s first relationship ever. He was in a forced marriage and didn’t know how to date or to be with another person. When sex was the only way he got to be with Blitz he made it the centre of the relationship. Not knowing that’s not how relationships actually work. Both are terrible at communicating feelings so it was destined to be a disaster.
@@Lynnywhereuat007 True, and I think it makes sense why Stolas would be the way he is, but he still has to learn and grow before pursuing a serious relationship, and he still has done things wrong that he should apologize for. He's not the only one who has made mistakes by a long shot, I just don't agree with the video in the idea that Blitz was gaslighting him when he was honestly saying how he saw things.
The thing is, Stolas isn’t blameless. He never refuted Asmodeus when he said he “sold his life for a thrust, that’s the spirit of Lust” he instead pulled away from Blitzø and hid his face in shame. Blitzø took that as confirmation that their situationship was only about sex. Not to mention all the way up until Ozzie’s whenever he talked to Blitzø it was in a flirty but sexual way. It wasn’t until Ozzie’s that Stolas commented that Blitzø asking him there was him asking him on a date. He asked him about his day and his interests for the FIRST time. I mean I understand why Blitzø believes it’s just about sex. Stolas didn’t effectively communicate anything different. Even if that wasn’t his intention. Blitzø isn’t a mind reader.

Yes, like if you watch closely you notice that almost EVERY interaction/conversation initiated by stolas start off with something sexual. Even their first encounter as adults, Blitzø was just there to STEAL the book, never to interact with stolas or anyone. But unfortunately he was caught and then Stolas was just going full in with the "you're here to ravish me aren't you?~" and that whole stuff. He STARTED the whole transactional thing to keep him close and see him again, but again it was about s*x. I know he did that because his thought process was "oh on our first reunion we had s*x, looks like he likes to have s*x with me. To keep him close, I'll suggest we'll have more s*x at our meetings." or something. But, like you said, Blitzø isn't a mind reader. Especially when he said in full moon "why does it always have to be about s*x?" Like Blitzø was the one who made it that way, i got kinda mad at him for that. We just have to acknowledge BOTH of them are at fault for this bundle of mess of a "relationship".

He literally says in Harvest Moon "just say my name right" and while Stolas might interpret that as being playful, Blitzo probably genuinely hated it at that point and took it as Stolas once again not respecting him

Stolas’ first words to Blitz after 25 years were “You were here to Ravish me, weren’t you?” Then when he texted him after Ozzie’s asking to talk about what happened and Blitz deflected, he immediately backtracked ending the text with “Maybe you can say mean things to me too next time”… explicitly pivoting back to making things about sex.
Both sides have contributed to the mess that has been their relationship.
I think Danny doesn't understand how Blitz would even think Stolas doesn't like him with all the hints and him even kinda admitting he liked him in some points of the show. But you have to understand that from Blitz's point of view he thinks no one loves him, and we see this all the time like for example he crosses off his face in every photo with him, changed his name to Blitz instead of Blitzo cuz he can't bear to think of the past with Fizz, Verosika, him mom, etc. It's not an excuse but it's a reason. It's good to know WHY a character does something, so that we should know how to feel. Like do we feel pure hatred or a little bit of sadness too? It's so hard to listen to what Blitz is saying sometime cuz as a fellow self hater, I'll hear smth he says and notice what he means by that or what the show is hinting at. Like we see him almost say he hates himself in that one episode where him and Fizz get kidnapped. And then Striker put ideas into his head like "people like Stolas don't respect us, patronize us, talk down to us, etc." And Stolas has never seen Blitz that way, but Blitz THINKS that, he thinks that Stolas could leave him anytime, why would someone like Stolas love me? Anyway I relate a lot to Blitz so I understand almost any action he ever does, so if anyone doesn't understand why he did or said smth in the show, js ask me in this comment thread or whatever and I'll answer. Maybe someone can give an even better answer idk

This. We see far more of what's behind the scenes than blitzø does, and the power imbalance is clear. The arrangement was stolas's idea, and it was essentially coercing blitzø into sex repeatedly at the risk of his business and stability. It was really fucked up, and stolas has realised that and is trying his best to make amends but I don't blame blitzø one bit for feeling used, and not believing stolas is genuine, even without adding on top his lack of self worth/belief that NOBODY can truly love him, let alone a prince. I'm a very avoidant person and I see a lot of my worst tendencies in blitzø's self-sabotaging. It's realistic, but it's easy to see it as black and white because we as the audience see how sweet and genuine stolas is underneath

Its important to acknowledge that as much as I love the character, Stolas has a lot of flaws himself that lead to the relationship being as it is.
Blitz's character flaws are more on display, more obvious I suppose. But Stolas's dependancy, and romantic ideations, his lack of self outside the pressures put upon him, and inability to communicate in ways that those around him understand, and unwillingness to give them the time to then understand are major problems, not just with blitz but his other relationships as well.
Blitz is not solely to blame, and if you take out everything we know about stolas because we have seen it from his perspective, it makes a lot of sense for blitz to have the attitude that he does. Especially considering his history
Also, Stolas is mildly Classist. He may view Blitz as an equal but he still makes remarks about Imps in very condescending ways, he has an Imp servant that he haphazardly and indirectly abuses without thought because he treats him almost like an object, and his lack of awareness of this and of how his deal with Blitz was not equal in powerplays (until now) is not something to sneeze at. He's one of those classist/racist people who aren't malicious in intent but accidentally cause harm anyway, through their lack of awareness.
YES EXACTLY! We know so much extra information about Stolas and his feelings than Blitzø does. If you look at Stolas from Blitzøs point of view only it paints an ENTIRELY different picture. Plus it’s literally a whole thing in the show that Blitzø really hates being vulnerable and talking about his feelings. Neither of them actually ever talk to each other for real. I also fully believe there’s another event in blitz life that’s influencing his thoughts about Stolas. There have been multiple times he’s said “royals are ALL the same, playing with our feelings”, I fully believe Blitzø had some type of relationship with another royal that absolutely DESTROYED him. Danny needs to rewatch the show and look at some character and behavior analyses to get a more well rounded opinion on blitz and Stolas. His dislike of Blitzø is blinding him to what’s really going on

@@hannahmetzger4880 I agree, he cut out all the important Blitzø moments in his Full Moon reaction, mainly the last scene and it’s very annoying. I remember him saying “Blitzø and Stolases situation is just some high school shït” and there couldn’t be anything more incorrect with that statement. This show goes into some really deep real life (fantastical facade) situations that play a huge part in how these characters exist present day. I never ever usually say this because most of the time it’s a not ok thing to say but in this case it’s true, Danny is watching the show incorrectly. Most shows have things that are up for interpretation that don’t fully affect how the viewing experience of the show BUT, in this case he is fundamentally misinterpreting the interactions between two major characters. I just wish he would read the comments

Actually, Stolas was the one who implemented the idea of the contract. It originated from blitz trying to steal the grimoire, but got found by Stolas and ended up fucking him as a means of distraction. Stolas brought up the transaction so that he could have his moments with blitz, and blitz wouldn’t have to steal the book.
i want to point out that blitz and stolas's relationship started out as a sexual one, and even though stolas has made attempts to take it further, blitz DOESNT BELIEVE HES LOVEABLE. he asks loona to be there when he dies because hes convinced hes going to die alone, basically his whole life has fueled his confirmation bias on that. yes, he ignores a lot of stolas's more romantic gestures, but its not out of malice so much as it is out of his pure, dirt-level self esteem
THIS!!!! They are both missing what's going on with the other and their commutation needs to be worked on badly! If someone doesn't like Blitz for the way this relationship is going then they should also not like Stolas for the same reason! They both have so much to unpack and work on themselves, before this can actually work out.

Danny has gotten some rose colored glasses when it comes to him thinking that Stolas is blame free and perfect and all the blame for their relationship goes to Blitz. In reality both Stolas and Blitz share blame for how their relationship is. Very rarely is the blame for a situation ever only on one person if ever.
I think Danny's also forgetting how much power Stolas has in the relationship. Stolas is a)a literal prince of hell (where Blitz as a imp is bottom tier hellborn) and also b)literally holds Blitz's livelihood in his control. Stolas takes away the Grimoire and Blitz loses the company (and potentially his family in Moxxie/Millie bc of it). Blitz literally NEEDS this transaction and does genuinely believe Stolas is simply in it for the sex because he feels unloveable. We see that in his vision of Stolas as a man on a throne with a gold chain around Blitz's neck. It absolutely is an unhealthy dynamic on BOTH sides, and BOTH are hurting the other and BOTH need to do better for it to work

haven’t seen his recent video on the topic yet but i do think he straight up forgot how constantly degrading stolas was to blitz on accident. like gee i wonder why blitz thinks this when stolas calls him very objectifying and degrading things and reduces it down to how hot blitz is almost all the time. blitz is the one who established that as a baseline when he seduced him for the book, but it’s still on stolas for acting that way.

Yeah, Stolas acts like the social divide doesn't exist because HE sees them as equals and loves that Blitz is an imp. He has no reason to believe it's any more than it's been presented-A transactional sexual relationship that Stolas leans on when he's bored or horny, who will throw him in the trash when he's no longer entertaining, and take down his entire world doing it. I would like to say something real quick. Blitz never gaslit stolas. He is gasliting himself because he does not think he is worthy of being cared for. He hates himself so much to the point he pushes everyone away. He was hurt by his family and then because of the misunderstanding with Fizz he can’t let people in. It’s a defence mechanism in his brain that he has trained himself to think. Georgia Dow has some good videos talking about this I would highly recommend.

His mind does not comprehend, or in other words, does not allow him to understand and accept that someone loves him for exactly who he is and doesn't want something in return except for love. Blitzo is a very complex character at the end of the day, making him so interesting.

I'm so glad this song is canon now. Love this music and the animation so much. Bryce really brought emotion into Stolas’ voice and the lyrics are so deep. You can instantly tell how much pain he's in questioning his relationship with Blitzø.

Okay, i feel like we need to clear something up here. Stolas absolutely made Blitzo feel like their relationship was a means to an end. Several times. The conversation in the Canibal Family episode that was so graphic *it had to be bleeped*, in the Loo Loo Land episode he spends the entire day flirting with Blitzo in a very sexual manner, he only starts showing his romantic feelings towards him at the end of season one and then into season two, but by that point its too late because he started this relationship as a sexual one.
He thought Blitzo couldn't love him and started the Full Moon contract just so he could have Blitzo, even if only for one night a month. He has the control in this situation, whether he meant to or not. He started an arrangement that Blitzo ***CANNOT LEAVE*** without risking his entire business. Its why he was so adamant about the Asmodeion Crystal, because it took his power away and attempts to make them equals, at least in that way
Great comment, I feel like we’ve learned so much about Stolas and have been in his pov for so long that people have forgotten how much Blitz doesn’t know about Stolas and his feelings throughout their relationship and how it looks from his pov, and even if he had, does that make up for the way Stolas has outwardly treated Blitzo?, i.e. the condescension, the unwanted flirting and sexualization etc.

I couldn't agree more! I just feel like no one really understands Blitz' point of view at all and I does piss me off a bit. Stolas isnt completely innocent. While not being malicious or even purposeful, he does still hurt Blitz. I feel like this is because to understand Blitz's mindset you do have to look closer into the episodes, particularly S1 Ep 6 Truth seekers. The acid trip clearly states how much he pushes people away but that detail can be missed among everything else going on. While Stolas' emotions and thoughts are clearly displayed and you dont really need to pay attention that much to catch it.

man do i agree. Stolas 100% made their relationship a transactional one from the very beginning. We have just been seeing this relationship through Stolas's eyes more than we have Blitzo's and so we see his perspective, we see the growth he's gone through and him wrestling with his feelings. But he started the series with Blitzo as a sex object. the first two episodes were stolas treating blitzo like his personal sex toy.
Stolas has all of the power in the relationship, and has not made any attempt to share it. He's made all the decisions, all the changes, and just expected Blitzo to react like how he expects or hopes. literally everything could have been straightened out with Stolas and blitzo sitting down and stolas going "hey, do you actually like me? i am starting to having feelings for you and want to see where this goes? how about you?" but no, he clutches onto his one sided longing, making decisions to have Blitzo "prove" himself rather than just sitting down and being an adult. It's frustrating to me to see people place all the blame on Blitzo when he literally has just been following along with their original agreement because people think that he should automatically know stolas loves him because of what we know when the characters don't share that same meta knowledge.
I have been where Blitzo is, it's 100% just as toxic as what Stolas is going through.
I think it's important to note that Stolas holds all of the power within the relationship, and therefore shoulders as much blame for their mess of communication issues as Blitz does. their monthly meetups (which Stolas initiated) are the reason Blitz has his business. Stolas doesn't realize that Blitz feels like he will only ever be inferior in their relationship because of their class differences and the fact that Stolas can decide to take back his book at any moment which would ruin everything Blitz has worked for. I've always viewed the bounds of consent between them to be more akin to coercion than true consent because their dynamic is like a CEO sleeping with an intern. Until that power difference is taken away, they will never work out and Blitz will never understand that what they have can be more than transactional.
imma need Danny to understand that the power dynamic between Blitz and Stolas is very unbalanced in Stolas' favour. like, dont get me wrong we all love Stolas, but he is equally to blame for the toxicity of their realtionship as much as Blitz is. Its easy to forget through all the character development we've seen of Stolas the way he behaved towards Blitz at the beginning of the show, continuously being very sexually aggressive with him and constantly being crude and overly sexual, and its dramatic irony because we have seen Stolas' feelings devlop but Blitz hasn't. Theres a reason that Blitz thinks that Blitz thinks that Stolas just sees him as a kink essentially - "loves the thrill of being dicked by the lower class, its a novelty to him" blitz says in episode 6 - and thats to do with Stolas' behaviour from his perspective.
I'd also like to note that on top of their relationship being unequal on a class level, its also unequal on the very basis it was formed under. Stolas is essentially Blitz's john, Blitz having to exchange sexual favours with him to keep his buisness running, his livelyhood depends on him allowing Stolas to use his body. Blitz hasnt gaslit Stolas into believing their relationship is unfair to him, Stolas came to that realisation all on his own and thats why hes giving him the Asmodian crystsal, in an attempt to equalise their realtionship as much as he can given their class differences so that Blitz no longer feels obligated to be what is essentially Stolas' favourite sex toy
Also, albeit not as obvious, you see Blitz falling for Stolas as well within his reactions to things regarding Stolas (i think the biggest thing being "Stolas can get hurt?" Because thats one of the only times we see Blitz genuinely reacting to something instead of hiding behind a seven layer deep mask.)
And in him trying to make things equal he still is causing a pier imbalance by being the only one to know it's going on
Blitz believes he can't be loved and is too scared to operate the relationship without the safety net of the deal. There's no way hes gonna see the crystal as anything other than ending it but in a way that Stolas doesn't have to feel guilty about. And not believe anything Stolas says otherwise because he's too traumatised
And not just his business but his family. You and I both know that Blitz loves Moxxie and Millie, and fully believes they'd leave the second I.M.P falls. As far as he's concerned almost everything he loves is tied into that book, that relationship, that toxic dynamic.

My guy he’s looking for his DAUGHTER, Blitzø knew the gravity of the situation and was genuinely scared calling Stolas and when Stolas arrived he was in a panick, finding his child would have taken precedence over any awkwardness. And even then Stolas’ peep talk to Blitzø was literally about he performance in bed.
Also while the audience got to see how special that night was for Stolas, Blitzø has no way of knowing that. Blitzø was focused on the M&M’s, which, yeah dickish he was inconsiderate as hell to everyone in this episode. It’s a really fancy club so he asked Stolas, a fancy lusty rich guy to go to a fancy lusty rich place. The accidental date night would have probably been pleasant if Blitzø didn’t stand up for Moxxie since Stolas was being genuine and asking about his day and Blitzø was starting to focus more on his own date. But then the roast session and Stolas hide his face when accused of dating an Imp, shattering the trust that was growing between them.
Blitz was not the one to start the transaction. Stolas told him he can have the book for sex once a month. Its just that recently he has grown as a character and has wanted more than to be just a sex master and servant. And neither of them realize that their first sexual encounter in the beginning was all a huge misunderstanding of what either of them are in to.
They deal with their trauma in very different ways. Stolas internalizes it, but Blitzø pushes people away and hurts others before they can hurt him or before they get to close and he REALLY hurts them (his mom, sister, and Fizz). Neither of which is healthy, Stolas thinks he deserves alll the bad stuff and hates himself while Blitzø ruins relationships
Stolas is my favourite character, but you have a habit of handwaving his flaws even when he tells you what they are. Stolitzø is an unhealthy relationship in both directions and neither is on purpose. They’re both using the other out of selfish need, even though they would both be happy with the other like Fizz and Ozzie if they were equals in the relationship. I’m concerned that you won’t listen to both of them in Full Moon because the best part of enjoying Stolas’ character is going to be seeing him finally heal his old wounds and fix his flaws. ❤

It’s hard to fully defend Blitzøs actions cuz you’re kinda right, but it’s important to remember they’re both at fault for different reasons in the relationship. This whole thing started because STOLAS created the agreement, but his feelings are more obvious to the viewers so we sympathize with him more
I agree, we mostly get to see stolas's and blitz's relationship through stolas's perspective, especially in s2.
So people sympathize with him much more than blitz.
There's definitely a power dynamic that needs to be dismantled between them but I wouldn't even say Stolas was the sole reason the agreement started, we see in the flashback that it was Blitz who saw the grimoire and immediately tried seducing Stolas to steal it.
I think the big issue is that there’s a massive power imbalance from the day they met as kids, that it’s impossible for Blitz to meet Stolas on even terms. As wonderful and nice as Stolas is I don’t think it’s possible for him and Blitz to hve an equal relationship. And i think Blitz sees that and reads that into Stolas’ motivations.
Not that you'll see this, but after you watch the full moon episode, I would recommend watching Sarcastic Chorus's new video on Stolas and Blitzø's relationship. I don't want to say more for spoiler reasons, but if you are interested, I think he brings up good points about how specifically Stolas handles things.

Blitz isnt a terrible person. He self destructs. If you know people with trauma and autism, its more understandable. He truly cares about the people around his and tries. He just doesnt fully understand how to navigate social conventions as much as others. He really loves Loona, respects Moxxie and Millie and is protective of Fizz. He is just awkward about it. Hes a little weird but we stan. I really hope Stolas realizes that Blitz truly loves him but doesnt trust the situation or himself to show those feelings right away. Makes me happy to see people actually understanding both points of view from Stolas and Blitz, and; while not excusing their behavior, acknowledging that they both have things to work on. Mainly communication, a lot of communication. Which is great because it's a misunderstanding trope, but one that makes sense and is genuinely tragic.
Everyone knows that Blitz is a bit of a mess, so I'll skip on listing out all his issues.
Stolas, sure, wanted validation and to be loved by someone, it just so happened that Blitz; as his first "friend" awakened Stolas. With that said, Stolas agreed to an arrangement where it is transactional and Blitz cannot leave without possibly risking his dream/business.
Stolas is not classist, but he also doesn't put in the effort to show respect to imps other than Blitz. He just kinda rolls with the norms,
Stolas speaks to an idealized version of Blitz. Not realizing that because to anyone else; who doesn't know Stolas loves Blitz (including Blitz), his pet names and baby talk are demeaning. Blitz even asked him to stop, Stolas didn't.
We don't really see how much interaction Stolas is currently having with his divorce and daughter, so I'm not going to make any hard judgement calls. With that said, until it's shown, I'm thinking maybe his efforts should be more focused on that right now.
I'd point out one or two more things, but I'd rather wait to make sure he sees the new ep first.
Tldr, Blitz is an asshole, Stolas is naive. Neither intend to be malicious; though Blitz is confrontational when he can't process his emotions. The next ep rips my heart out for both of losing to their worst tendencies. Stolas wins me a little more, just because he's actively trying.

With the text conversation you mentioned, someone pointed out recently that, with his terrible typos there and other misspellings he’s made, Blitz might be semi illiterate. Of course, doesn’t necessarily mean he’d immediately communicate better, but it’s an interesting observation.
With the contract, Stolas was the one to propose it in episode one. Now he sees how wrong that was. Their relationship is very toxic, and, while they would be cute, I don’t fully ship them because of the toxicity. The main thing I’m glad came out of their relationship is Stolas trying to get away from Stella. That girl abusive and crazy as all get out.
I never really caught on to Blitz's typos as indicative of illiteracy but now that I have I can't keep it out of my head. Thank you for sharing the fan speculation
Yeah, I've thought about that, too. I think it would be interesting if Blitz literally was struggling to read/didn't know what most of the text said, but also doesn't want to admit to Stolas that he can't actually read those long texts. I've seen people criticize Blitz for just sending a short, badly spelled text when Stolas is hurt, but I honestly think that was the best he could do. We've seen him struggle to spell in pretty much every circumstance where he's written everything, and on things that are really important to him, like the billboard, he uses speech to text. He also doesn't seem to have the ability to make corrections in what the speech to text interprets manually, considering the number of errors.
From Stolas's perspective, he's poured his heart out to Blitz and he just says 'k', which likely makes him more nervous and insecure. From Blitz's perspective, he keeps getting sent giant blocks of texts that he doesn't understand.
I read a fic where it also theorized that Blitzø being semi illiterate could be the real reason he pushed all the paperwork onto Moxxie

Danny, when you react to The Full Moon keep in mind, before episode 7 Stolas only gave signals about wanting to have sex w/ Blitzø. And Blitzø has trauma to where he physicality cannot think anyone anyone could love him.
In ep6 s2 blitz complains to fizz about how stolas "pretends" to care about him by asking how his day was and commenting on his photos. Even fizz realized that blitz just wasn't accepting that stolas loved him.

There was a point where stolas just used blitz as a toy, showing in the pilot. Yes there was a turning point but at the beginning when blitz was getting out of trouble he had to use stolas' lack of a "love life" to get himself out of trouble. I don't think blitz expected to see him again after that.
Stolas never gave Blitz a reason to believe it wasn't just about sex. That paired with believing he's only good for ruining things, Blitz genuinely believes he's unloveable so of COURSE it's only for sex. If Stolas just told the truth.......
At 18:11 you said that Blitz started the relationship but it was actually Stolas. Blitz stole his book and in the 1st episode, it was Stolas' idea to have the transaction on the full moon which Blitz agreed to. We get Stolas' perspective on the relationship and how he wants more than just sex, but to Blitz all Stolas has talked about, especially in the beginning (Episodes 1 + 2 especially), was sex. They both have their flaws that they despretaly need to work out and I can't wait for you to watch Full Moon because... yikes.

I feel like it gets over looked that Stolas literally has all the power here, Blitz acts tough and in control but he has no power in their relationship. Even though Stolas is constantly getting hurt, he's the one forcing this relationship and he's the one that brought in the transaction. I love Stolas but like you not seeing the other side and how they are BOTH hurting each other and how Stolas is keeping this toxicity alive makes me dislike Stolas a little more since I end up thinking all about what Stolas IS doing wrong in the relationship, he does have a lot to apologize for, but he has also been used by Blitz. Niether of them are innocent in this so really please stop treating Stolas like he's completely a victim
YES!! God, I'm kinda pissed at how this fandom is making me dislike my favorite character for no reason other than the fact that he's woobified beyond reason. Blitzø gets villainized for having an attitude while Stolas is holding all the cards and displaying decidedly subpar communication skills for a man of his means

Nope, he doesn't. Blitz could have and should have talked to Stolas if he really wanted to but Blitz doesn't even consider Stolas to be human. He is an ass to Stolas and considers himself above Stolas so he decides to steal from Stolas then instead of talking to Stolas he decides to accept pitty fucking Stolas to feed his ego
All of this would've been solved if Blitz could simply tell Stolas the truth , that he needed the book

Stolas was aware that their relationship was transactional. With his use of the words, plaything and little pet names.
He started feeling more for Blitzø but never communicated those feelings with him at an appropriate time. Blitzø has convinced himself no one could love him so he refuses to care for anyone around him.
They are both kinda toxic in weird ways, Blitzø more outwardly and aggressively though
We also can't ignore that Stolas is in a position of power here. Hell has an aggressive class system, imps and hellhounds being the lowest tier, while Stolas is quite literally an angel descendant. Just under the royal family and deadly sins

Okay tbf, the thing Stolas feels bad for is he (as an infinitely more powerful demon) basically coerced Blitz into sex every month in order to keep working. And if you went back to early series, Stolas genuinely DOES treat Blitz as a sexy plaything.
Doesn’t that only happen because Blitz sets up their relationship to be a sexual one that’s based solely around the grimoire? Everyone’s so ready to throw things at Stolas but he literally is just keeping their relationship going in the way he knows to best work for Blitz and is the only one to make any effort towards changing the dynamic
Blitz comes and steals the grimoire in exchange for sex, so Stolas reciprocates by making a deal out of it seeing as it is very much his property and if Blitz likes sex then why not make it a deal that benefits him in both ways because as we’ve seen Stolas will do whatever it takes for Blitz regardless of the detriment to himself. Then Stolas goes out of his way to hang out with Blitz outside of sexual activity, which Blitz shows active annoyance at. Then Stolas gives the grimoire to Blitz for months with no expectations on his part as he realizes he just wants time with Blitz and the sex thing was what he thought would get Blitz to spend time with him becuase again Blitz started off their relationship with sex but then Blitz ghosts him entirely for months. Finally Stolas gives Blitz his own means of transportation and what does he get in return? mockery of his feelings and a speech from Blitz about how he hates everything that Stolas is just because he happened to be born a royal
People can like Blitz but to defend him when the only person who put any work into their relationship has been Stolas while Blitz continues to take and reap the benefits of what Stolas strives to do for him to deepens and maintain their relationship, is to put it lightly unfair

It happens literally in the pilot where he can hear Blitz being attacked and ignores him so he can set up the parameters of their escapades. Blitz tried to leave before stolas made him feel guilty and initiated the sex. After that he continuously treats Blitz like a plaything. From ignoring him when he denies his advances at the theme park, literally putting a cigarette out on his forehead, calling him "his little impish plaything" (ya know, calling him by his race when he knows imps are inferior in status and power and can be literally bought), pulling at his cheeks like he's a toy, and being completely aware how Blitz sees the relationship considering how Blitz TOLD HIM at the dinner. During the music video he blatantly states he knows Blitz has a wall he needs to overcome.
Add to all this he was aware this conversation with Blitz was going to be a sensitive one. So he starts it by to demanding the book he KNOWS Blitz needs to help his business and keep his family and friends employed, waits till the man is in literal tears and then love bombs him out of no where. When Blitz reacts confused and even states he needs time to register he gets shut down immediately and dismissed.

Like, I agree Stolas shouldn't have done or said most of the things you mention, but they are demons, in hell, who are used to each other in bed. What part of the interaction we see between Stolas and Blitz at the start of s1ep5 truly annoys Blitz? Because he looks permanently annoyed around Stolas even though we know it's not really the case. Someone pointed out that in BDSM, plaything can be common and normal (just, you're not supposed to use it outside the bedroom, Stolas just miss social cues here, plus I really thing he was just trying to be intimidating to the humans).

At no point doesnit take a sexual or intimate turn until Blitz starts making physical advances and it’s Stolas who tries to turn it down at first
It’s an odd thing to point out the cigarette thing seeing as how the demons in hell have wildly intense interest and pleasures that would never fly on earth, acting as if that’s an inherent sign of power discrepancy and not just another thing they do is making some big assumptions. Now i won’t deny that Stolas does have a terrible habit of using demeaning terms like “impish play thing” which plays into his stereotype of being a royal but if that’s something to be held against Stolas then why don’t we blame Blitz for stealing from Stolas not once but twice, once as a child being his first time ever meeting an imp that wasn’t his servant and then again as an adult on their first time meeting again and not once does Stolas let that cloud his view of Imps as a whole but Blitz is allowed to have terrible views of Stolas the only royal to actively look out for, take care of, and and genuinely care for him. This is also ignoring that Stolas does so much that is clearly against the royal lifestyle and image, so to act as if all he does is belittle Imps as a whole is reductive of everything Stolas does. Does he say “Impish plaything” yea but doesn’t he also protect Blitz, provide him access to the mortal realm which is otherwise an unobtainable feat for most Imps, pays him large amounts of money for things that Stolas realistically doesn’t need Blitz for. Then onto the dinner, Stolas looked forward to going out with Blitz without the expectation of anything sexual only to be blindsided when it turns out that Blitz only brought him because of the couple requirement, Stolas tries to strike up conversation and even tries to communicate their situation to figure out why Blitz even invited him if he was just going to ignore him, at which point Blitz lashed out and again solidified to Stolas that sexual intimacy is the only thing keeping them going which is ultimately what leads to Stolas testing that by giving Blitz the absolute freedom of HIS Grimoire for MONTHS until he realizes that Blitz seems to have no interest in him outside of his book.
Then you’re completely misrepresenting the order of events and how they played out. Yes Stolas starts off the conversation pretty misleadingly but then immediately corrects it by giving him the amulet and explains in detail what it’s for, the release of “obligation” Blitz was under, and finally an admission of his feelings to which Blitz openly mocks. Stolas is under no obligation to listen to someone make fun of his feelings but continues to listen to Blitz as he BERATES, BELITTLES, INSULTS, Stolas as a person quite literally verbally abusing him. Blitz verbally abuses the man who has been verbally abused for years by the woman he just divorced…he’s being verballly abused by the person he loves the same way he was by the woman he despises but you expected him to be the more mature one in that moment again and stand and listen to someone verbally assault him? Do you think Stolas has no feelings? Is he not allowed to be upset and not want to listen to more of Blitz’s hate for him as a person. Then finally this part stuck out to me the most becuase it’s exactly what i was looking for when i watched the episode but not once does Blitz say he needs time, he goes straight into mocking and then straight into verbally abusing, had he said he needed time at any point i’d hav been very okay because that really was all he needed to say, he didn’t need to reciprocate or even answer right then just the admission that he acknowledged Stolas’s feelings and was considering them would’ve been enough
That’s all i’ll say on the matter because quite literally nothing with the available information will ever convince me that Stolas is in the wrong when even Blitz friends realized that there was clearly something more and with Moxxie and Millie being the healthiest couple (outside of Ozzy and Fizz) to mention it says a lot about how open Stolas has been and them even joking that Blitz is the problem as he’s too much of an “idiot”.
@@neyaneazrune548 the point is the show decides to only showcase to us (or predominantly) Stolas feelings throughout the show. And even then he rarely communicates to Blitz who he KNOWS sees the relationship as transactional except for blink and you miss it scenes (such as the text messages exchanged between the two of them). The narrative is constantly slapping us in the face that the owl man who set up the contract is actually an uwu sad Boi who doesn't understand that a literal slave akin character might not be stoked about suddenly having romantic feelings thrust upon them and when he's faced with that he dismisses Blitz entirely.
Both characters have their issues. However we're only subject to the feelings of one because it's easier to side with the one crying. Ignoring the fact this is a man of royal status using an inferior being for his own means and apparently so ignorant he doesn't understand his privilege
Now if the show actually explored more the fact that stolas is just at fault I would find that far more interesting and forgiving. But because he cries people seem to forget the massive amount of power he has over Blitz, his life, his finances and his family / friends livelihoods.
To be fair, Stolas was the one to start the arrengement and he did make it seem like he only wanted sex, with his horny calls or hiring Blitz as a bodyguard to blatantly thirst over him. Later on, it did become clear to *us* as an audience that he has actual feelings for Blitz
But Blitz doesn't see this because of their arrangement being supposed to stay purely transactional, but also because he doesn't believe Stolas would want him for anything else than his body and is actively gaslighting himself into ignoring all the signals of Stolas' true feelings

The thing about blitz is that he's not being an asshole when he doesn't believe Stolas loves him. He fully genuinely believes he's undiserving of love and that nobody could ever love him.
Danny really should go back and watch the first episode before watching Full Moon. It was Stolas who made the relationship transactional.

What about that ISN'T Stolas making that initiative to make Blitz a means to an end? Even with what we know thanks to the first episode of season 2, Blitz only went along with it BECAUSE STOLAS INITIATED the fun times thinking that's what Blitz was there for in the first place. Blitz literally only went along with it to get the book. Where was the gas lighting from Blitz?!
Blitz had sex with Stolas to get his dream realized. He robbed and betrayed him in the past and didn't at any point correct or apologize for any of that. He slept with a married man, who not only left his wife straight after, but also assumed blitz was there for him/them and hasn't been with anyone else since. On top of all that Stolas didn't ask for anything for the longest time, while allowing Blitz illegal activities with his book. Stolas isn't the one that started the toxic spiral, he's just the one that misunderstood and Blitz didn't communicate otherwise because he still got what he wanted out of Stolas: the book for his job
