    Great video! I have had one since 1981. This was the most comprehensive explanation of the electronics of this very underrated bass. I think will watch this a few more times to fully understand it😂. I have always enjoyed the wides range of tones and the amazing sustain of this bass. Thank you!

    I finally got my T40 about 10 years ago. It out performs everything else i own. I knew about the tone knobs at 7 it goes to single coil but didn't know about the faze switch. Now i have to experiment with that. Thanks for the video !!

    Awesome explanation of a complex but great sounding bass. I used to have one, and loved it, but i could hear my chiropractor say "cha-ching" every time I played it.

    I’ve owned a peavey t-40 for a couple years. I got it solely bc of the tone capabilities but I’ll admit I kept everything at 10 bc the possibilities were too much to understand. My old band hater recording with my bass and now recording myself I definitely notice a very boxy tone. This video helped me understand more about my bass and how I could get it to sound better.

      The T40 is one of those basses that really benefits from new as possible zingy strings, especially roundwounds......thank you for watching and commenting

    Great explanation of the electronics controls. These guitars were definitely built to last. Have you seen the prices for the T-40s lately?

    I love the wood grain on that bass. I'm trying to find a bass I like with a maple fret board to try it out.

    Brilliant explanation of T40. Damn I wish Peavey would do a reissue.

      Thanks and Me too.....with two variations: one exactly like the original and a variation with the pickups centered in J positions. On both, a little chambering in the body to make them a little lighter and perhaps a smaller but still hi mass bridge to also help with weight

    where do ya find a readable tone chart for the t-40

    • @Rib13Bass
      @Rib13Bass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question.....if you are referring to the bass emulation chart.......I'm going to be honest, I don't think the t40 emulates a good bulk of what the chart claims: it does nail a Ric4001 very well and it can sound amazingly similar to an Alembic Spoiler, which isn't on any chart list. The rest are just the power of suggestion. It can still get a wide variety of useable tones, even if the aren't exactly like what they say. There is an excellent video out there that someone did a long time ago showing the bass emulations: to me, the emulations are off but it demonstrates the T40s flexibility. The link is in my description "Secret Sounds of the T40"...Thanks for watching
