I think it's safe to say you will not be able to guess where Connor's story ends up eventually. Not if you had a thousand guesses. But I enjoy hearing you try.
Hi Jules, To answer a couple of your questions, 1) Tyke didn't have to do much to track them down. Sunny went back to her place, and given that he knew her it wouldn't have been hard for him to find them. 2) I don't think it's ever explicitly explained, but my assumption is that Holtz came through the portal while Cordy and Groo were unconscious. And I'm totally here for dark Wesley.
I've been waiting for your next Angel episode and this is going to be a good one seeing Connor almost already grown up and I'm hoping that Wesley will eventually make amends with Angel have a wonderful week and thank you my friend.👋😊🇦🇺
Holtz came back through the portal when Gru and Cordi got knocked out. I just want to put it out there, oh how I love S4 :) Wow, I noticed something in this episode that Connor says pertaining to S5. Never caught that before.
Hello Jules! 💜 The Return of Vampurr! 🥰 Very nice - it also blends very neatly with your Summer glow here this day, enhancing the video visuals, and the excellent Thumbnail. 😊 Certainly a fast paced opening here. It would appear Connor has been busy, and is in no mood fro messing around. The Destroyer arrives, immediately drops, Groo, and Gunn, taking care of at least one letter of the alphabet, but is subsequently dropped by Angel, showing how relative these Big Bad names really are. 😂 Groo does seem to be a little jealous of Angel, on an increasing scale - Man, he just had a long vacation with Cordelia and it seems to mean nothing to him, just a few days after it ends. Groo is a nice guy, but there are better ways to handle things here. I liked your side-eye theory, as to Cordelia, with her and Groo in the Hotel. I always just sort of thought she was avoiding the mistakes that Gunn and Fred have been making, since getting together, and keeping her eye on the rift, just in case. 🤔 Or she was doing a bit of side-eye! 🤣 Wesley’s character of late is really showing his weakness. He, evidently had some deep seated emotions about the camaraderie of the Hotel gang. He has totally forgotten all the previous time together, and still holding himself above responsibility for any of it. But, Lilah? 🫢 Honesty, once again can be the star here - Connor is lied to by Holtz, Groo is a bit less than honest with Cordelia, and Wesley still refuses to be honest with himself. Maybe the remaining episodes this season will all end with Connor/Steve saying “Hi, Dad!” I think the reason that they used the portal/time thing, for Connor, is, as you say, to rapidly age the character into usefulness, but also to be where Angel would totally lose access. If they had just hid around this dimension, Angel would have found them, and the vengeance plot, of Holtz, would never have taken root in Connors head. Interesting episode, sort of a map of triple paths - Groo, Wesley, and Holtz. Have a great day, Jules.💜😉💜 Looking forward to continuing this tale, as well as pursuing the great detective work going on elsewhere! The New Year is in Good Hands! 🫢
Tom 😊💜 I hope your day has gone well, and you've remained cozy and indoors! I've got a bit more work to do then stopping for some gardening this afternoon in the sunshine, keeping an eye on the baby birds out and about! I do notice a lot of dishonesty/lying/keeping it inside as a theme on Angel. Many of the characters are quite poor with communication, but then of course it does make for interesting times! I can't help but feel bad for Groo, as I really do think Cordelia's mind is elsewhere but yes, they just had a holiday, it's time for work, so let's stop pining for more days off 😅 The portal/time thing does make sense but I do miss the little baby! It would have got old pretty quickly though, but now I am also wondering if grown up Connor will outstay his welcome too 🤭 Enjoy the rest of your evening, Dear Tom 💜
@@julesreactsI don’t think how Holtz got there is supposed to be a mystery. He clearly came through when Groo and Cordie were knocked out. Fred mentioned a possible mate for the monster just to distract us from thinking who else it might have been, like Holtz. I too love the Mistress of Portals. I love that both shows are so good at casting even minor roles with amazing actors. I still remember the elderly nun in the season one episode about the possessed boy! Such a short but amazing performance!
Due to his softer facial features and hair colour, I sort of pretend that Connor looks like Darla, since the actor looks like neither Benz or Boreanez (though of the two, more like Benz). And if you close your eyes, you can hear what sounds like Julie Benz’s distinctive speaking voice somewhat in Connor’s voice. Am I reaching? Certainly. But I find it dissatisfying when related people in media don’t resemble one another.
Blimey, is that baby Conner? Last time I saw him he was knee-high to a grasshopper. As soon as Conner was born I knew they'd either age him up or have him sent away because I couldn't see them wanting to keep a baby on the show for long. I think they came up with a very compelling story and although there are parts of Conner's journey that I'm not a fan of, I generally like his story arc. This episode in particular is a strong introduction for Big Boy Conner, especially his befriending of Sunny. He's grown up in a literal Hellscape, yet there are still harsh lessons for him to learn in our world. Teenage Connor is played by Vincent Kartheiser, who's probably best known for his role in the show Mad Men, but I know him best for the movie In Time, and for playing Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in the DC TV show, Titans. As for Wesley and Lilah, well, like you said, having him work for W&H certainly would give them a way to keep him around, wouldn't it? It would make for an engaging story arc too. Hmm... we'll just have to hope that Wes doesn't give in to temptation. I feel sorry for Groo too, he's a genuinely good and pure soul, but it's easy to see why he might be jealous of Cordy's bond with Angel. I get the impression that even she's not sure about her feelings. We're speeding into the season finale and I can't wait to see what you think of the final few episodes.
A brilliant action packed start to 'A New World' with Groo, Gunn and Angel up against Connor. A great scene as well when Angel finally overpowers him but cannot kill him. Lilah turning up as Wesley's flat is somewhat strange, and we are very fearful of her intentions, and she says 'the worst spot in hell is reserved for those that betray'. Conor of course definitely got his fighting skills from his mother and father! We see however his wild evil streak when he cuts the ear off one of the assailants. When Angel turns up after the girl OD's, we have Connor tell Angel his Father ( Holtz ) told him all about Angel and has obviously poisoned his mind. The reappearance of Holtz at the end now really throws the cat among the pigeons.
I think Sag jahn already stated that the father will kill the son prophecy was re-written by him to be the son fathered by a vampire will kill Sag jahn. The Conner-Holtz-Angel story is one of my favorites in the series.
Some dark moments in Angel and some poor CGI. Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus who betrayed julius Caesar and of course Judas Iscariot who betrayed Christ. Dante was Italian. Both Episodes end on "Hi, Dad." Didn't remember that.
@@lilywong9672 Theeur is a difference between powerful and vicious. I've never seen anything saying either was stronger than other vampires. "The thing that should never have existed" helped me stop watching later. I did come back, but I don't want to spoil anything with dates.
@@johncampbell756 To me there's an implication that the older a vampire gets, the stronger they become. And though they're not the oldest ones, probably still way above average. And they're direct "descendants" of the Master, it might have an effect.. Can't deny they are special, Angel has a soul and is a Champion for good, Darla resurrected as human after her death, there's prophecies including them. And they had a child.
One of those times they have the guest star's name as a surprise end credit moment.
I wish they ALWAYS did that!
I think it's safe to say you will not be able to guess where Connor's story ends up eventually. Not if you had a thousand guesses. But I enjoy hearing you try.
Sometimes the wrong guesses are even better than the right ones! It makes me feel I should write a novel with all the leftover plots in my head 🤭
👍
And so it begins...
Lovely reaction, as always! Hope you have a wonderful week!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Aging up a baby is an old, cheap trope. I hated that choice. I hate his entire unexplained existence with unexplained strength.
It's perfectly explained later on. And his strength is obvious - the child of two vampires will have some vampire strength.
@@davidmeadows5627 that and also growing up in a hell dimension fighting all day, every day, for your whole life would add to it? 🤷♀
How would his strength be unexplained? He was a literal miracle child of two vampires? And not just any vampires, two of the most powerful vampires.
