I know I'm late to the channel but congratulations and great work. I'm a student pilot with my first solo coming up in a few days. My school does things a little differently so I do the pattern/supervised solo followed right away by the local solo, then the XC solo. I've been watching your videos just to prep and it's been a great learning experience between this one and your first XC especially with how you picked up flight following. My airport is under a Bravo shelf in NY so seeing how you interacted with the controllers in that situation was a lot of help. Also great job deciding to do a go-around on the first landing in this video. Good work and safe travels!
Great first solo. Thanks for sharing! This is the plane I've just started flying as well at KMYF 😃 What are you using for the video/audio recording and the data capture? How did you mount the camera? I'd like to record my flights as well. Thanks 🙏
Thanks! It's more than a year ago for me already but one never forgets the first solo! I'm used a Gopro Hero 7 then with a sticker mount. You can buy these 2. www.amazon.com/GoPro-3-5mm-Adapter-Official-Accessory/dp/B01L2CPPH2/ www.amazon.com/Nflightcam-Smartphone-Aircraft-Audio-Cable/dp/B00HQMLFWC
yeokm1 Thanks so much for getting back to me. How did you capture and display the data in the top corners? That was really cool and something I haven't seen before.
Jacob Riff U need a mobile GPS logging app that can save the data in GPX format. After that import the GPX file using the free Garmin Virb Edit software to add the metrics overlay.
hey imma be doing the same thing at the same airport very soon 😂 so hyped for it, also nice vid man!
Good luck!
