  • Hey guys! Today I show you guys how to tighten the chain on your Husqvarna 701.. or really any bike at all. This is a pretty simple job and didn't take me very long at all.

I hope by now you have purchased a torque wrench, adjustable spanner’s are great in an emergency but not for routine scheduled work. 👍

Thx for this video :) You should make sure to tighten the axle with a defined torque. On my Vitpilen 701 its 90 Nm

It would of been nice if you positioned the camera on the left side to see where you were actually tensioning the chain imo. But good video

Hey man, just picked up the same bike and finished first oil change at 500 (changed it early). Did you have a lot of metal in your oil? Mine didn’t look great and the magnet picked up a lot of metal dust. And my cylinder filter screens had a bit in there too. I’m sure it’s normal, but wondering about yours. ALSO my bike grinds into second gear going from first sometimes once the bike is warm…any comment on how the bikes transmission has been for you??? I’m hoping maybe my loose chain is the issue and am adjusting it tomorrow morning. Thanks!

I know you posted the question five months ago but yes metal fragments in the first few oil changes are not uncommon, nothing to worry about. 👍

@@701Adventures yes sir! Upon research I guess it’s particularly common with KTM (the whole bike is KTM). Also, for anyone wondering, that weird transmission issue seemed to go away after probably 1,000 miles. I started using my quick shifter for the first time after that constantly and now everything works great (5,000 miles) maybe something was breaking in? Maybe it was my chain? Who knows but bike runs amazing. Best bike ever surprised you don’t see more of them on the road

Gotta say this is worrying. last video posted by the guy is his chain tightening video without a torque wrench. also being a young guy with a new bike... Hope all is well and you just started having too much fun to post anymore.
