Enjoy the time with your dad!! I live in Tennessee and my father lives in Maine and he's got Alzheimer's and Dementia so its very difficult especially since my accident back in 09 that 100% disabled me and permanently put me in the poor house. Its very difficult to be able to see my pops, especially after my mother passed away from cancer 3 years ago. God Bless and love the channel Scott!!
Scott. My uncle was an Illinois state trooper killed by a truck driver over his hours. It is a scary job but it is needed and respected.

This happens when you have old stuff and also when you build old cars too. Always an adventure. I have built a couple vehicles. 1963 novaSS is currently what I have.

The noise you heard before the blowout was the belts inside the tire breaking and the tire changing shape. A little piece of advice dude, I would inflate the tires to the middle load level at all times. You get better mpg and ride comfort

Dude. That same thing happened to my Papaw's 79 El Camino. It doesn't have an engine and hasn't run in 6 to 6 and a half years, and we just found the other day that the tread just committed self die. The rest of the tire is just fine.

That was brilliant Scott, but what can you do mate, sometimes crap happens, be thankful you werent laft walking.
*Check the lug nuts with a torque wrench around 100 ft lbs after driving a couple hundred miles*
You need a new steering box too,and a few more upgrades for sure

if you're going to be working on cars on a regular basis I would highly suggest investing in a set of electric impact wrenches.
That tire was so bad, that your dad had to help you out. When I saw how bad the tire was, I said to myself: HOLY SHIT! 😂😂😂👨

Noticed you cut your wheels in the rescue truck to push away from you if it got hit from behind. Small thing cops notice. Retired now but I still do safety things I was taught like allowing a car length from the car in front of me if stopped in traffic.

Take note people; his truck tires turned outward. That way if somebody was to run into the back end of his truck it would roll away from him and the Malibu. Plus, he was using his truck to protect him while he worked on the side of a busy highway.
