- DALI has a new flagship speaker! The KORE. And what a beast it is. 80.000 Euro per pair. But you definately get something special. Lars Worre - CEO of DALI - explains everything about the new speaker.
Very good explanation of the technology used for the Kore speakers. This was one of the best sounding speakers of all demonstrations I attended at the High End 2022!
It was indeed very impressive in terms of scale and power.

There is one thing though, that I would have loved to ask, if I had been part of the audience:
Seemless soundintegration between the drivers, is a good thing. But: When the two large Bass/low midrange drivers have to play up to 400 Hz, I would think, that it will be very tricky to find the right listening distance, because of the time arrival of sound from three drivers would be different, and could potentially blurr the imaging 😉 Just thoughts....

The upper bass unit is cut off earlier at a lower frequency. Not sure at what frequency, but its a 3½+½ design.
I've always wondered why they've never added a proper size woofer to their speakers before. I'd like to see a cheaper version of this without the top woofer.
I guess we will see some trickle down very soon ;-).

Very interesting.
But whenever he talked about the cone material choice it sounded more like it was a Dali headquarters/marketing division decision rather than an audio engineer's choice.
Not that I blame them. It makes sense for a brand.

How much does it weigh? 3.7 roentgen, but that's as high as our scales go. 3.7, not great, but not bad
I was shocked when I see the price tag of the Dali Kore because Dali is not a high end speaker company like Focal, Wilson audio ,Raidho etc; they sell mainly budget speakers like Spector, Oberon. I think they should release a 20 to 30 k speakers first to have a niche in the high end market.
They did have a high-end model before. Check out the Megaline.
Although the Epicon 6 /8 is cheap compared to the more expensive models like Focal, Wilson and so on.. They are not less audiophile. The MS4 wheren't either.
They also have Opticon 8 which sounds really good and similar design as Kore speaker
I think the term to describe you is audiophile snob.
You say that Dali is not a hig end speaker companey... well they made Megaline witch is hig end... They made Epicon 8 witch got the Eisa revard for best hig end speaker in 2012/2013... And now Dali Kore... The core with the the right preamp eks Lyngdorf mp40 and power amps eks 2 X Hegel H30A sounds WAY better than any Focal, Wilson, Tad, Raidho etc...I have heard them all... In my ears the Kore should be 1 to 2 times more expensive. They are simply perfection. So if you are in doubt...Dali is now one hell of a
hig end company :)

The technology in the drive units that was presented seems legit. So how did it sound, Jaap? :-P
It was very impressive in terms of scale, speed and power. I did hear some annoying room-modes, so I can't conclude anything yet. I hope to hear it in Denmark in better conditions.

Thank you. Yes, I hope that you are able to listen to them with your own well known test tracks and in a better listening environment as well. I doubt I will be able to hear them, but will look up Dali dealers in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
@@TheAlphaAudio puzzling system building choice, considering the caliber of the speaker, at least they should have an Innuos (or even a Pink Faun or Taiko)

I do wonder why almost all audiophiles are men .. but in the same time there are so many women that say “music is my life “ but they’re okay with a Sony headphones :-)

I love those Voofers! (OK, I'm just jealous, don't have 80k to splash out or an apartment big enough to even get those beasts through my front door without scratching them.) And how come in these videos no-one addresses the obvious elephant in the room - neighbours!! I can just see their expressions when a truck pulls up in the street below and the 4 removal guys (better 8) start offloading them...

why did Dali company raise the price on the speakers already in the retail stores...Epicon 2 is up €1000 for a pair...shame on Dali...it feels like the company is shifting in the wrong direction...with due respect, I don't really care for ribbon tweeters on any speakers...and it seems the company loves that new implementation?👎...people, hang on to you present Dali Rubicon 2 and Epicon 2...my hunch is they will be consider classics soon...I have a set of Rubicon 2 and wanted an upgrade...recived the Rubicon 6
(special edition😂)this past week...nothing special about it...sounds worse than my Rubicon 2...sending them back this week...keep your ribbon tweeters...thats why i don't like Wharfdale speakers...🤦🏻♂️...why do some Dali speakers sound like there playing from inside a kichen cabinet?...and why didn't you play a demo of these?...all talk
