Great video. Just purchased two Mevo Cores, in large part because the Nearstream website was not working, and did not show me what their multi-cam software looked like. I will likely purchase one VM46 (they are 10% off!) but since I own a few micro 4/3rd power zoom lenses, think I will settle on the Mevo Core. Nice to have so much choice! Will run the VM46 in via NDI, to the Mevo Multi-Cam app. Greatly appreciate the video Jason.

Thanks Jason. This is a timely comparison between two strong contenders as we’re currently researching to upgrade. Are you regularly favoring the Yolobox Ultra over Mevo Multicam?
I much prefer wireless setups for mobile live streaming so Multicam is my choice most often for those. Ultra is my studio/indoor option.
I would like to see what the quality for the cameras in low lighting for a stage performance.
We have a local theatre that needs some kind of camera to record some of the performances from a distance for low lighting and to have the ease of ability to do multi cameras. We have used the Mevo cameras in our church but trying to figure out if this would be an option for our local theatre too.
Good video. A quick question. MEVO Core is good for softball streaming or you prefer MEVO Start at this moment? I am using MEVO Start to stream my daughter softball games, but I seeing if MEVO Core is better not just about quality, but also how much space of the park it catch. At least MEVO Start is more much expensive.
The Core can pair with a wider angle lens to catch more of the ballpark. But you’re right, it is much more expensive.
VM46 in the pulpit shot is visibly strobing, was the shutter set differently from Core? Is it possible to change the shutter, white balance, iso and aperture manually on the VM46?
It was at odds with my LEDs but there is no lens tuning control for shutter, iso or aperture. You get a 50Hz/60Hz anti flicker toggle but this is all.
How far away can you get from the Mevo Core? Would it work say 350ft away over the centerfield fence if you are behind the backstop?
Not without help. We have found that a WiFi 6 travel router will stretch the distance between router and control device. But for 350’ you’ll need a second one, set up in repeater mode. I have a couple of videos highlighting the Slate AXT1800 travel router from GLi.net

I know two folks now who have had major issues with the VM46, to the point they don't even use it, and NearStream has refunded them 100% of their purchase (they bought off the NearStream site for the discount) and let them keep the camera. Something is seriously amiss with the VM46. I have a VM33, and it has some issues, nothing major. Was surprised to hear of all the difficulty with the 46 - it would be great for a centerfield shot.
This is not good news. I've had this one on and testing for a couple weeks
now and am pleased with it.
@@JasonHoffmanYT that's good to hear, and makes me think that they had a bad batch or a production issue that has hopefully been resolved, and are just writing off the bad units. I've been very happy with the 33, and was surprised to hear the 46 had problems, it's basically the same camera with upgraded parts.
I got mine from the website a few months ago, the initial batch seems had some minor issues...They gave me a new unit. I've been using it for several months now, and my experience has been excellent. Also, the customer support has been very responsive.
It may be caused by misunderstanding haha. I met several issues when using the VM46 and I asked their support team. They helped me with them. I use them fluently now.
If cost is out of the equation (and it never is) the results show me the Core is far ahead in quality and expansion. I am angry that you just cost me $500 for the 45-175 i just bought on B&H. Hopefully you get a commission. :-)
