Thank you for your comparison! I wish I would have watched your video before I purchased the Emeet 3 camera bundle. I'm new to streaming. However, everything you mentioned about the Emeet I noticed but thought I was doing something wrong. I'm going to purchase Mevo to see which stream camera works best for me. Again thank you!!
Sorry you had trouble with them. Their image quality has gotten better with firmware updates, but still have some growing pains to go through.
Thank you for doing this comparison! I look forward to Emeet solving those software issues. I've been tempted to grab one to tinker with. Also curious how the Emeet does out in the heat.
At $200 (current discount applied) it is very tempting. I’m always encouraged when I get thoughtful responses from using the feedback button. High hopes for this one.
Did they ever fix the software glitch with frame dropping?
Can 1 or both of these platforms stream simultaneously to Facebook and to TH-cam? We need this feature. Thanks for a great comparison!
You can with either if using a service like Restream or Castr. Mevo has a built in option which is included in their subscription to Mevo Pro which also has some added functionality for the streaming software.
I appreciate the comparison. How is the latency if you use the wireless video and a separate audio source (wireless video + sound mixer)?
First year streaming our sons fall ball games, your channel has been VERY helpful!! (Austin/New Braunfels area)
Well this fires me up! What age son? What streaming setup are you using?
@@JasonHoffmanYT Hes 10 playing 11U, im starting with Mevo and Gamechanger. Just the basics atm so my wife can also set it up for the games I cant make it too. Its also for family who want to watch him play but cant make it out.
@@timborski1210 perfect reason to start. Great memories of my boys at that age!
What are your thoughts about the NearStream cameras in comparsing with Mevo, Emeet, Obsbot and Avkans? (Sorry if I loaded my question a bit too much)
Definitely loaded LOL but I’ll try: If you are asking about image quality, it is excellent. The optical zoom elevates the NearStream cameras above the Mevo Start and Emeet, but it is priced higher than them as well. The Mevo Core is priced higher than NearStream but will use interchangeable lenses. It also has more connection options. The Avkans is new and software is less developed than other cameras.
The NearStream has positioned itself to be a major player and an integral part of mobile live streaming.
The quality difference on the zoomed images seemed pretty dramatic. Was it because you were a little closer to the Mevo? Or is the Mevo zoom just clearly superior? The emeet zoom seemed noticeably more grainy. I was leaning toward emeet until that moment.
It’s in the quality of their software. Digital zoom is all software controlled and on the Emeet it has gotten better since this video because of the software updates. It’s just so new… Mevo is still better zoomed but the difference isn’t quite so stark now.
Any recommendations for cameras if you were starting green and fresh today?
Single camera or multicamera setup?
@@JasonHoffmanYT I'll consider both if you don't mind .. data is inference!
If i were to start fresh today it would be using Mevo software with one of their cameras and one Obsbot Tail Air. This will be a great combo for ~90% of the things I would stream.
@@JasonHoffmanYT thank you ...I'm gonna start right there
Nice review "Jason" always being transparent with each content... Looking forward to try the Emeet soon too wanna do a 3 camera set up with it, i like the wide frame.
Go for it!
I purchased the Emeet 3 cameras. App was crashing and they did send me a new app. Customer service is pretty good.
For livestreaming, it's easy to connect to TH-cam, but I can only connect to my Personal FB page and not my business page. Yes, I can do RTMP, but it would be easier if I didnt have to do that. Mevo has that function since they have connected FB Business Suite.
Can you please ask Emeet if they will go that route eventually?
Thank you and appreciate your help. The video explained a lot. I was going to return the emeet and get mevo, but your vids convinced me to keep it.
Oh and when using my mobile hot spot, do you how far away the cameras can go from my phone before loosing connection. Thx again.
The range is what I need to know also!
How prevalent is the drop frame? Audio out of sync? Is there a remedy?
The updates pushed since this video have improved all the issues mentioned in this video. They are not as fast at releasing updates as some competitors, but they are consistently improving their product.
@@JasonHoffmanYT dropped frames would be a deal killer for me. I would rather spend more money. What is your recommendation?
What is your intended use and budget?
@@JasonHoffmanYT live stream and pre-recorded podcast.
@@JasonHoffmanYT budget is, if I don't have to spend it, I don't want to.
Has there been an update to the emeet?
The most recent update as of today is 1.1.7 and it’s a month old. I still had issues with this build.
@@JasonHoffmanYT do you happen to know of a work around to the issue you mentioned in the video that you were having, with recording 1080 to the SD card.
Has the software issues been resoved and the fame dropping when recording to SD?
As of Camera firmware 220 and mic firmware 240: yes, smooth recording to SD card. Recording to the controlling device still has jumpy video and audio. Also, an oddity when recording to SD card, none of my zooming showed up in the recording. It was full screen the whole time I was testing the zoom/pan feature.
@@JasonHoffmanYT Thank you for that fast response! I JUST ordered the 3 Cam bundle for multi cam sit down vlog conversations. Couldn't beat the price!
Can you put EMEET steam Cam one on NDI mode?
NDI is not a feature of the StreamCam One
@@JasonHoffmanYT is there a way or a video where I can get into OBS studio wirelessly with the stream cam 1?
@@preallz2493 I havent worked with OBS in a couple years but the Emeet allows you to set an RIST address and I think OBS can catch it this way. Someone correct this if I’m off target.
Thank you Jason!
Really enjoyed making this one Bruce. The low-light capability of the VM33 was a lot better than the other two. I’m hoping its software gets the glitches worked out.
Do either of these cameras just record video through your phone? For an edited TH-cam video? Or is it only for live stream.
They will record. Next to the 'Live' button there is a 'Record' button. Will either record to your smartphone/tablet or to an sd card if inserted in the camera. This is true of all the live streaming cameras I have reviewed if memory serves.
I need a two/three cam system for streaming kids hockey games.. which would work best with a cellphone hotspot?
Until Emeet gets some software issues worked out, the Mevo is the better choice.
Mevo also has a problem. The most important thing is actually the distance between the device and the phone. The effective distance of the phone hotspot is generally 10 meters to 30 meters.
Hi Jason, I've been using Mevo for several months to Livestream events/weddings on TH-cam. It works well mostly but sometimes the video is glitchy.
I can connect the Mevo to home wifi and start streaming then I dont need my phone once Mevo is connected to wifi. Can i do this with Emeet ?
It will continue to stream once you close the app so you can use your phone for something else but it will still have to be present. Are you sure the glitchy video on your Mevo isn't an sd card issue?
@@JasonHoffmanYT I'm buying MİNE Media A5 4K Streaming Camera with 4G Bonding to replace my Mevo.
Hi Jason,
This will be our first year streaming my daughters softball games.
I was looking at sideline HD, it mentions you can stream it to Facebook or TH-cam. Sideline also mentions you can re-watch it on those platforms.
Would I still need an SD card, which causes the dropping in the emeet software?
Thanks
No, you can stream to your destination and forego the local backup an sd card allows.
Any updates on the sd card recordings dropping frames?
I’ve noticed it doesn’t happen when not using the wireless microphone on the Emeet. Shame as this is such a selling point.
I suggest informing the EMEET official about the detailed situation. EMEET updates its software or firmware every month.
Does the Emeet software have a monthly fee like the Mevo Multicam app does?
No subscription available in the Emeet software.
@@JasonHoffmanYT has it improved any since your last review of it in the vs Mevo?
I tried it with no cameras just to see, it won't stream to a Facebook group but streams to my personal page no problem
@@sibertiger17 it has improved but still has some bugs. I’m in conversation with their developers about a couple of issues surrounding the audio when using the wireless mic. The Facebook thing is a problem for a lot of people since fb changed their api this last time.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I know you prefer the Mevos, but I'm having nothing but issues with them. Still without return window so wondering if these Emeets will do... they're much cheaper right now too...$600 difference
Can the Emeet connect to the Mevo Pro (software) via NDI?
Can you tell if there are keyboard shortcuts for an external device?
No NDI here yet. I dont see an option for keyboard shortcuts.
Does not support NDI, nor does it have shortcut keys to work with external devices.
Why can’t you stream more than 3 cameras EMEET but you can MEVO?
Just a software limitation. It’s what their developers decided I guess. Same thing Mevo did when their Multicam software first came out.

@@JasonHoffmanYTthanks for response
For the life of me WHY CANT THE CAMERAS CONNECT TO THE APP USING THE HOTSPOT OR CELLUAR OPTION OF PHONE??? It’s supposed to stream wirelessly (like in public WITHOUT WI-FI)
They do, but we dont connect thru the personal hotspot feature of the phone. When setting up the camera in its app, choose ‘I do not have WiFi’ and it will set up a connection with the camera using the phone’s data. Kinda backward if you are used to using the camera hotspot.
@ never works for me…but I just came from under a rock and realized I can buy a mobile hotspot. Mine as well…cuz fast upload speed is def needed for live streaming
Emeet StreamCam One video quality is not even close to Mevo. it also doesn’t have LAN support and NDI feature.... So.... Thank you for overview.
Thanks for the comment. Given the price point it makes sense, less features for those who just need to stream simply. I’m glad companies are now trying to find a niche in the live streaming market.
@@JasonHoffmanYT Yes, for sure, you're right!
the Mevo Start looks better though.
Can I use two of the Emeet StreamCan One on vMix?
Which do you prefer for live streaming between StreamCam One and SmartCam S600?
Thanks
You've asked about a couple of things I have no experience with: vMix and the s600.
I received an email from EMEET stating their R&D team has confirmed StreetCam One is compatible with GameChanger
