Eh. Many think there are shots back at Eminem bc of the shots Eminem took at him on The Ringer. “An effin’ recovery clone version of me.” An (N) ef(F)in. Some say people are trying to make something out of nothing. I’ve listened to Eminem since 2001 or so. Dude doesn’t make mistakes in his writing. He went at a lot on the ringer and he actively chose not to swear to make the bar sound like NF. Who else doesn’t swear? NF. that bar is saying basically he’s the clean (non swearing) version of Eminem. Recovery is when Eminem got sober and discussed it.
NF has said he’s heard it. But way before this he stated he would never get dragged into an industry beef unless he was called out BY NAME without some play on words writing. Do I think it was at NF? I do. Do I think Eminem actually has some issue with NF? I don’t. I think it was clever writing that worked on a song where he went at a lot of people.
Agreed. But there was a reason Em dissed him, it was because of NF’s “Rap God” bar in Outro. It was actually pretty similar to MGK’s Rap God bar in No Reason that pissed Em off, so it makes sense honestly, def Em just being petty though

Did you you notice the "Patiently Waiting" part? Eminem had a song called "Patiently Waiting".
Nate normally takes shots at the industry or current rap game. The only time he's ever brought up a specific name in a song is to pay homage. There is no shot at Em in this. Which blows my mind that people would think that. Em was idle to him growing up and inspired him. Nate just doesn't seem like the type to go after his idles or people he respects.. It could have been a shot back at Em because of The Ringer but Nate said it wasn’t although the entire song can seem to have calls backs to Recovery.
Most people didn’t dig that deep into it bc they wanted to just dismiss it off the bat like it couldn’t have been a shot but that one liner was just a small bit of what could have been centered around Em, but the jab part wasn’t according to Nate but it still could have parts inspired by Em’s stuff.
Yeah, more references/shout outs. The people that want drama so desperately they'll try to say he's dissing him 'til the day they die are just crazy xD But the people who think there's no reference to 'Em in any of NF's music are also crazy.
He references Em in several songs actually. Drake in a couple, Lil' Wayne at least once, Big Sean, etc. He knows to pay homage to the people who inspired him to get where he's at. And he's stated very clearly in interviews that Em is #1 on that list, so it only makes sense to hear him called out (in a positive way) throughout the albums.
