Many people think the 7 lettered word is FREEDOM. It is SUICIDE (Which is why he was hospitalized). Not just outpatient therapy. He even lists every single way to do it. Everyone misses this. Thank GOD he worked through it, with God's help! The man is amazing.

People think that suicide will bring them freedom. But it only takes your hurt and pain onto every single family member. Suicide is not the answer. If you struggle find help. It's the best thing I ever asked for.

I dont have mental health issues but i relate to NF on the same level as being an introvert whos feels misunderstood
My 7 year old daughter loves listening to to NF. Her favorite songs judging by frequency of requests are "just like you" "real" and "clouds". The first time she requested clouds made it very apparent that her musical improvisations (instrument wise and legit 3 word prompt singing inspired by Harry Mack) that she really understands music because she didn't know the name so asked by saying the one that's starts with " da da da, da dum da dum da da da" and perfectly imitated the cadence and melody of it. Knew which one instantly lol. And no I don't feel the content is too mature because she understands it. I've had full custody of her since 9 months old and so she has internal struggles due to her mom. If anything I think it's healthy for her to learn a healthy outlet as well as have her feelings validated.
NF helps such a widespread realm of people it's amazing.

I’m panicking now that I’ve made my way through a decent chunk of Eminem’s catalogue, so figured I’d give NF more of a listen to stretch out the timeframe for me to finish working through Em’s stuff. 😂 And I really loved this song! I’m definitely going to have to dig into more of NF’s stuff. I’m not sure exactly where/when/why the NF and Em beef came to exist (is Em just mad that he’s an introspective rapper who doesn’t cuss?)…but it’s really a shame. I think the two could create something really, really special if they would ever collab.
Also, the production on this is absolutely stunning. Thanks to another commenter mentioning that the track was produced by Tommee Profitt, I get it and can’t unhear it. His production style is just so consistently gorgeous and cinematic. For anyone who appreciates his style here, check out some of his other work - particularly with Fleurie (warning…she’s definitely not a rapper, but she’s a wonderful vocalist).

NF likes to leave little Easter eggs here, and there that only his truest fans will find. You touched on the line "out da cell now". In How Could You Leave Us Nate says "They say pain is a prison, let me out of my cell. Then in Outcast NF opens with "Woke up in a cell, where am I at?" Nate is asking his fans if they know where he is at if he woke up in a cell. The real fans know that what NF is really saying is "Woke up in pain". Then he says "doors locked, but the keys are in my hand" Nate has the key to his own healing, and happiness which is his music. Yet he hasn't figured out how to let himself out. Later in Outcast he says "Sing along to the pain Nate, love it". So, even though Nate hates his pain, he loves it at the same time. Here in Let Me Go "out da cell now" Nate's saying he is finally "out of the pain now". But, he still doesn't know where he will go now that he is out of pain. These are all things people miss if they don't take the Journey. Keep up the great break downs.

Im a huge NF fan. I know every song by heart but this is my favorite NF song ever. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well. This song just hits me in a different way. You will only understand if you have been through it. It is almost impossible to explain to someone what it feels like. This song explains it perfectly. THIS is why I love NF!
Highly slept on Track
Bro! This is such an underrated track. He's on some next level genius with this. He puts concepts that are too hard to describe to verse and exercises allegory, metaphor, personification and raw emotion to a whole different level ahead of his time. Shook!
Also, NF is referencing the 7 letters of, "Freedom." He mentions this subtly in another track. It just so happens that the title of this track is also 7 letters, "Let Me Go." Brilliant

As a brother in this fight, I appreciate you voluntarily using this platform to help spread the word and awareness about the collective struggle with mental health issues.

NF conveys so many struggles that take root in mental illness and is so good at articulating those struggles its amazing to witness so many of us go thru hundreds of struggles thinking it’s just us all alone and get to the point where thinking suicide is an option and he puts it all out there rapping when thousands can’t even bring it up in conversation without fear of being judged be littled this man is a blessing to the human race!

The way NF talks about his mind like a mansion or a house, the liars could easily be in reference to his own thoughts. But I think the metaphors he uses are frequently gathered from his real life experience too. The themes he uses themselves are a double. The foundation of the mind after all is laid in the home. If the foundation is weak, you may not find out until the point where the house has to be deconstructed and built back up to correct the problem. If anyone feels like their life is a wreck or feeling exposed, remember that something must be broken apart to the core to repair structural damage, so hang in there. It won't be easy, and it will take work, but you can do it.

This is for anyone new who may want to take the NF journey as we call it because he intertwines his music like marvel movies.
All four albums is like a connected series. For instance in his when i grow up song, paid my dues, leave me alone, and why song, the black smile is the fake smile that he mentions in therapy session song.
He hides eggs in his videos. In when i grow up song there was three hidden eggs in that song. A black balloon by the trash cans and in burger joint he grabbed at receipt that had the date and time of when his song time was being released. He had outcast name tag on in the janitor part from his Outcast song. Another example is in the search song he had cage in background he rapped in from his outcast song.

I can not relate to NF on a religious aspect as an atheist but as mental health wellness advocate I totally get it
Rap or hip hop is the only genre I know that doesn't hit on those topics as much as others. I love NF because he's alot more straight forward, but there are more bands/singers/music that does broach that topic. My favorite one is Five Finger Death Punch -Wrong side of heaven, mostly cause I am a vet.
