Born George Henry Elliott in Rochdale, Lancashire on 3rd November 1882 he was one of the most famous black face Minstrels in British Music Hall. He performed at 3 different Royal variety shows, 1925, 1948 & 1958. He recorded over 100 best selling 78s and was one of the highest earners for HMV records.
He died 19th November 1962
