you dont understand how much i needed this big man, doing a moneyball journeyman save using your skin and some of the positions i had no idea of what to look for, for an inverted wing back
Obviously there is a lot of nuance depending on the tactic, other player's roles, etc... but can't go possession won/lost and progressive passes is always a solid place to start!
@@mustermannfm mouhamed diatta is my best pickup so far. got him from oslo football academy in senegal, he has 16 goals and 1 assist in 15 matches for my recently promoted YSCC Yokohama. picked him up for £30,000 and is now worth between 450,000 and 600,000 at 20 years old. terens puhiri, 27 year old indonesian international winger on a free (8 goals 10 assists in 16) and 23 year old benfica b keeper leo kokubo for £10k too
Some great suggestions in here as is to be expected. If the plan is to do a video like this for every position, I'd love to see a finale that harnesses the energy of the old LMA Manager Fantasy Team mode, where you put together a squad of your favourite finds with a set budget and see how they do in a top 5 league!
That is the EXACT plan!! In fact, it was the starting point. I was going to do the "Moneyball Dream Team", and then thought maybe it would be good to go over each position first, and then have a grand finale! I'm thinking of inserting a team into Serie A - as that has the widest variety of different opposition formations, and working on a budget of half the average.
Hey Muster, can you add in this series what KPI/stats you usually use to compare different positions, like you did in the chelsea clinic. It really helps understand what kind of, "right back" for instance, you would like to sign. eg. if i need a creator wingback, i need x,y,z variables spread on his stats. Thank you very much for your work. You are the best
As mentioned in every video in the series so far. There isn't a set x, y and z metric that is important. It depends on what you want them to do in your tactic. An inverted full back in one tactic will be different to an inverted full back in another. In a video like this, where the players are being recommended in a tactic agnostic fashion, then there is no specific metric. Rather, I will prioritise those who are outliers or have a good combination, of which I've highlighted on every single player.
Pablo Maffeo one of my fav since Fm20. Recently used Migueza in Fm22 I always use him as right wing back suprisly very good. I also love using Kluivverth Aguilar from Peru, not particularly good at assisting but really really solid right wing back, I got him for 7m after taking over Reading in champions league in 26/27 season, helped me promoted and sold him for 43m in 3 years.
I remember being so excited when we'd signed Thomas Helveg back in 04. An early lesson in not getting too hyped about a signing before you watch them play.
@@Timpe40 I would too, it would save me a lot of time. Not something I'd be able to do myself, though. For players facing straight at the camera, I've got it down to about 10-15 minutes. For side profiles/action shots...a lot longer 🙈
I don't have a right back suggestion but at left back I found a player called Jan-Nicklas Beste, and he truly is the Beste. Deadly from set pieces and a good crosser who can play at left back and left wing. 24 as well. He is no Roberto Carlos, but he's attainable if you're coaching at a high enough level and gets decent output for me at least.
Even though he plays for Bundesliga debutants Heidenheim, he was recently for the first time called up to the German national team by Julian Nagelsmann. I don't think he got any minutes, but this means he has a chance to be in the squad for the European Championship. So I'd say you're onto something.
@@thegreatgabsby7617 A fantastic suggestion!! He's actually a player on my radar as a left winger. A candidate for a very unique role that I will be using in the final video of the series, where I'll assemble a full 25-man squad and go through a season. Whether he makes the cut is yet to be seen, though!
Once again, awesome video man! Do I remember you saying you probably won't do a similar skin for FM25, right? Really sad about that but I also understand where you're coming from! Hope you might re-consider :)
I won't be no, sorry. Two reasons. 1) The big changes are likely to mean that a lot is going to change...including the underlying structure. I'm too old to be learning new stuff 😂 2) Because of those changes, I personally believe it is better to experience the base skin for at least the first year. Let's see what we get, and give ourselves a chance to become familiar before assessing what changes we feel are needed.
Every time I do a moneyball save im torn about spending money on a player who’s performed but won’t get better due to a low potential ability to your usual wonderkids who’s doesn’t performed as well but have a better potential that I know can sell for a huge profit or be a regular starting 11 player in my lineup 😅
My favourite since latest patch magnus bech risnaes at wing back bought for 2mil current worth 68mil after one season only won best players in epl just epl 34 games 5goals n 16 assits with avg rating 7.44
I probably am. As in I genuinely don't know 😂 I know I've played around with it on Nvidia Broadcast, and there's a good chance I never turned it off again!!
There will not be a version of my skin next year 🥲 With the series going through an entire game engine change, we don't even know if we'll be able to create skins (in the first version), and I am a firm believer in giving it at least a year to properly experience the new interface before assessing whether any changes are necessary.
@@mustermannfm I meant for FM 2024. Is there going to be a new version in it? The fact that you are not going to build a skin for FM 2025 is sad as I don't want to play with the attributes anymore. I also tried Ben's skin but didn't like the interface.
@@sirtbambson Statman is a great skin - I'm a huge fan of skins that have a consistent design philosophy throughout - but, like mine, it's definitely an acquired taste and not for everyone. There will be an update for FM24, yes, which I'm working on at the moment. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by pizza chart in the attributes view? Whilst the profiles in this video are created externally (because you can't have aggregated pizza charts from different saves appear in game), the appearance is exactly the same as in the current skin?
@@mustermannfmI meant the pizza chart appearing above the attributes in the player profile screen, like for example at 1:50. It might be my small screen and resolution but I only see the attributes in my player profiles. Great to hear that you are still updating this version. Has been a huge game changer for me and awaken my interest in the game. Hoping that there will be good attributeless skin options in FM 2025 too. When you get used to playing without attributes, at least I would never go back to the old model.
@@sirtbambson That sounds odd, it should be performance data first. Actually, there are two different player overview pages; Profile and Attributes. In the skin both are the same, but the order is different. Profile has the performance data first, Attributes has the attributes first. You can set your default landing page in Preferences - I think it is called "Player Landing Screen" or something similar.
Yes the exact same principles. Identify what you expect your players to do in each position based on your tactic. Search for the corresponding metrics. Use your incumbent players as comparison point.
Nah, I thought I'd just do right backs and then never do another video like this again 😂 Joking aside, I'll be doing all positions, before finishing with a Dream Team episode where I construct an entire 25 man squad and see how they get on.
As always, it's going to depend on your overall tactical setup, because that will dictate what you expect from a player. But in general, break it down by each phase. In possession, they are expected to stay deep in the rest defence. You are likely to prioritise ball retention (low possession lost per 90) here and, in possession-heavy systems, ball progression (high progression passes per 90). In transition, they will be defending against the counter, so you are looking at players who are good at regaining possession (high possession won per 90). Out of possession, they will be defending wide areas. Potentially need to win their ground duels when isolated against wingers (high tackles won per 90) and/or responsible for stopping crosses (high blocks per 90). Everything is relative. If you have the means/effort to export and calculate stuff in better detail, you will benefit from adjusting metrics for possession.
Nope. It is not in a publically releasable condition. I am also using this series to refine my own understanding, so as to compile a fuller database, with more than the Top 30 leagues for when the series ends. This is unlikeable to be shared as a spreadsheet, but rather as a Looker Studio dashboard that will allow you to filter through (and potentially export to csv).
