    Awesome update guys. Can't wait to get the right touchscreen (as the ones I have don't work with this) so I can finally test this design. I was also thinking of trying to incorporate bluetooth receiver so you can have wireless line in. I also have to modify print files for the case as I'll be using smaller sized arduino mega.
    Again, excellent job guys :)

    Dear Cine-Light, first of all I would like to thank you for your great work. This is now my 3rd project which I have built according to your instructions. (vu-meter, infintity mirror 40x40, stereo vu-meter). I would like to ask you if you can provide me with a version with 280 LEDs per channel. That would be great because I can now replace my old stereo vu-meter (2x 280 LED with 2x Arduino mega) with this ingenious new display version. Keep it up, I wish you a happy new year.

      It is an idea we are thinking of. Not the mono/ stereo selection. But number of leds selection. This stereo version has eeprom enabled. So any brightness and volume settings are saved even after reboot. Version 2 of the mono vu meter ( to be released ) also has eeprom enabled to save any settings. So adding the led number feature can be done. Until the wannabe stops his little games, I believe he will be getting lots of retaliation from other project makers. A group has started about a month ago on how to deal with him.

    I can use the standard rgb strips for the vu meter? Excellent channel!

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mario.. the answer is no... the standard rgb strips work with 12v on one channel, and a controlled negative value on the r,g,b channel. These led strips work on 5v and each chip / led is programmable. so grab a strip of ws2812b.

    Or should I make two for each channel? Could you make a file for me with 2x110 leds line in? ( Harke`s Vu )
    And otherwise 1x110? The Vu meter one revised is also working great with 110 leds, but i want to update it with the tft version. Greetz from holland

    Realy great work! I have a look to your VU Meters since maybe 3or 4 month.
    Now i decide do rebiuld one of the vu meters, i have issues with the stereo vu´s with line input.
    The LED seems to word, but i get no reaction from the audio in to the led´s.
    They won´t dance...
    Maybe the capacitators are poled wrong. can it be that the + and the - from the caps are different in some videos/sketches?
    So i test both, but nothing happened.
    Today i get my Bluetoothmodul and hope this will be work well for a first start. At least i will built 2 stereo vu meters.
    One with 110 and one with 144 Led´s. Because i have toasted my first stripe, but the most led´s are ok. A few more than 110...
    So i will asked you for the hex code for those vu meters please.
    i won´t edit something, i am happy when it works...
    Best wishes from germany

    Hi Cine-Lights. Hope you have been well. I know you have been busy.
    I have finally got around to completing this project and it all looks amazing. Thank you for posting. Love it.
    Not sure if it has already been raised but have you heard of people having issues with leds appearing low in volume? Even though leds are centred perfectly. Seems like I need to turn volume up fairly high to have leds move past half way.
    Wondering if it is in the code or the way I have set up the audio circuit. You have sent me the code for 51 leds per channel in the past. Was wondering if there is a fix for this. Hope this makes sense.
    I'm happy to email you my results.
    Anyway thanks again for sharing your projects looking forward to seeing the next one.

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya.. Its not a problem i have come across. when we went about putting this together the base volume was taken from a line in source, ( so no volume adjust ) this we treated as zero. We then tried several line in sources, so phones, tablets, and tv etc and found zero to be spot on, not only in the code, but with the selection of resistor values. we added the volume control just incase. can i ask where you are taking your source audio from ?. i take mine from the tv and audio is set at 45% to get get perfect reaction at listening volume.

    • @aboj8059
      @aboj8059 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cine-Lights. Thank you for taking time to respond to me.
      I have the lights connected to a dj mixer.
      Today I also tried uploading the code for 60 leds rather than 50. There was some improvement but centred light modes were too far off so I have settled for the for 55 leds code. I actually haven't tried another source as I like having the lights around the dj gear. We love lights. I will see how it goes with a mobile device. Just feel as though the audio sensitivity needs to be increased a touch.
      I am running the volume at 100% on the touch screen.
      Hope this part makes sense
      What I am hoping to achieve is to be able to adjust the vu display to peak even i if I am playing at a lower volume say 50% and perhaps adjust the sensitivity/ volume on the actual touch screen to lower or increase the leds. Maybe the unit is not designed to work like this or
      let me know whether the unit should actually be doing this?
      Please don't get me wrong the unit does work and when I have the mixer peaking the vu meter does the same. I'd just like to have the vu meter peak at a lower volume .
      Thanks again

    • @aboj8059
      @aboj8059 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry forget to mention when I play volume at halfway on the mixer the vu meter display is almost nonexistent. Which makes me think it may be the my audio circuit???
      Also just tried with my IPad connect. Same result unfortunately.

      wiring for audio:
      ive got the 1uF cap on the L&R positives from the 3.5mm jack (tried it in both directions as was unsure which the positive/negative leg of the cap should go to?),
      then on the other side of the capacitors i have a connection to ground through an 100 ohm resistor and another to the +5v positive through a 100 ohm resistor. Then the outputs from the caps to the A8 & A9.
      it seems to get a lot of noise on the line as there is flickering/movement in the first 5 or so leds even when there is no source playing but even when turned up to full on both the source and cine-lights settings (also tried varying the volume settings) but its not picking up the input ?
      when using the standby modes it runs perfect so im a bit stuck now with what to try next or why its not playing ball for me ?

      1. Try replacing the 100 ohm res. with the suggested 10k res.,(10,000 ohms)
      2. To help with noise problem, place a 1m ohm (1,000,000 ohm) from A8 & A9 to Arduino ground(one on each pin)
      3. For me ,these did not help, still no signal, so I restructured audio input as follows:
      1. replaced capacitors with 0.1uf (104) and res with 100k ohms
      2. changed 5 v power to 3.3 v. power.
      #3 Fixed the problems for me. Now audio signal can be read and leds behave as desired.
