    UPDATE 07/06/2019 Both stereo and mono version 2 complete. both great updates with lots of extras and fine tuning. The Stereo version will be released first hopefully in the next 7 days.
    Almost 4000 subscribers.. Thats just crazy.. Thanks everyone.

    I had no Idea about arduino but had seen your video about a vu meter then just went and bought the pieces that was needed followed your clear instruction downloaded your code and to my surprise my first project was complete and working.
    You shouldnt have to spend hours/days for someone to take your work and not give any credit to the original programmer.
    THANK YOU for all your hard work and making it easy for everyone including me to make these creations. Thank you

      Hey C Reynolds., its always nice to hear success stories. Credit is always nice, but when he is using peoples hard work to make money, that is wrong. he is hurting a lot of people. i have seen to many people confront him and he just abuses them. lets just hope he sticks to his cheap banggood soldering kits, and leaves this channel alone.

      Hey Tomaz, alot of hard work and hours has gone into this one. Version one is minimal, its getting the hardware ready. Version 2 is a huge step. screen saver, more vu meter patterns, and standby patterns. And lots of tuning. version 3 will be crazy. there will be no change in the hardware.. it answers alot of requests, would you believe the original vu meter is 4 years old.., searching youtube for tft control on standby or vu meter .... it doesnt exist.. so its a first..

      Hey James.. it works very well.. version 2 is complete.. just in testing. Lots added, screen saver, more vu meters and stand by patterns. And also eeprom enabled, so all settings saved after power off. The stereo version is 23 vu metres strong and growing. We are constantly fine tuning .. so aiming for something pretty cool. I have yet to see anything on TH-cam that comes close.

      Just having the touchscreen makes it amazing for me, you don’t see them being used in many projects so hats off to you. I think it was probably one of your first ever vu meters with a microphone that I have still up and running so not too familiar with your latest ones as they have never interested me that greatly but this one has got me interested! Will have to have a look through some of your other vu videos to catch up on it all. Hope your well mate and gutted to hear your having to deal with this moron copying your work and trying to take the credit for it with all the hard work you put in and freely helping others to create amazing projects.

    Hello Cine-Lights and team.
    You did mention this revised version was going to be good and WOW you delivered way beyond expectations. It is great to see you all come together to create such a great piece of work and taking the project to another level by applying the TFT screen. Sensational work once again. Also totally understand why you are supplying the code in this format. I appreciate that you are continuing to share your work with the community.
    I also have now ordered the parts. Wondering if you can also upload a code for 50 leds per channel

      Hello mate... your link : drive.google.com/open?id=10kc2c-xZep-ZxAT-nc3Re3Ld5Ska67zX
      This a actually version 2, which will not be released for another few weeks. its set for 50 leds as you requested and has all the latest updates.( if anyone wants a pre-release then feel free.. 50 leds only though ) supplying in this format, helps us to make sure its easier for everyone for a one click upload. ( you will need to download the original code to upload this one ). it includes all the libraries etc. The wannabe has his little brain cells working overtime to justify what he is doing.. his latest video 30 views.. his rip off of this vu meter 26k views, says it all really... when starting this channel would i ever believe there was such low life people breathing.. i am looking at updating the 3d print files for original arduino megas, so it makes it easier to everyone. But the final build of this project will beat them all and will require new print files.. so.. keeping me busy..

      @cine-lights  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya Icewolffinc, yes more money.., but if you see what i see this end, then its a good purchase. i did pick quite a cheap screen to make it an affordable build. . The screen does comes with a pen.., but i have tried so hard to make the control big enough that it can be controlled with a single finger.. the updates are being added every night, so a lot of work is going into this build.. i have yet to see a touchscreen and led strip in the same setup.. so one like this is pretty original.. it depends what your after.., but i would build the stereo version as it will work in both stereo and mono.. the stereo version is now 100% complete, is now in testing mode.., The mono update is pretty close to.. lots and lots have been added. Thanks for the support on the Wannabe.. , its crazy how this channel is growing, especially when this is just a hobby for me.. no funding, or money making.. you will always have a leech, which he is.. hes out to make money on everyone's hard work... I try and keep as much of it out of my channel.. but its hard.. but supplying the code the way i am doing for the time being helps me and others equally, a simple upload, no searching for libraries etc.. it just works.. , anyways.. any problems, throw a message, equally if you get a successful build.., please share..

I would love to share the pix with you in a private message.

    Hi Cine -Lights. Work done great. It's a pity of course that the bluetooth vu meter project is stopped and аny further updates to the mono and stereo vu meter will be touchscreen only. We'll have to buy a TFT screen and wait for a detailed description of connecting it to the controller. :)

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kolobov Igor. The problem with the bluetooth version was i took it as far as i could. I wanted something that would both work for the stereo and mono version., but with the stereo version timing issues were becoming more of an problem. This was also apparent on the mono version in the 100 led region. On the lastest mono version i had maxed out on the single page with buttons. This meant a second page would have been needed, this caused other problems. my number one request on both vu meters was a volume and brightness control, again more timing issues.
      I needed something to answer the requests, looked better, and worked properly., and of course had to be something new and original, The touchscreen is all that. The screen its self is designed for the arduino uno and mega. It does use a little memory, along with the ammount of effects in version 2 there is no way it will work on an arduino uno. also the ammount of pins needed for the screen you are limited. so this is Arduino mega only, and it is a simple plug in. you just need to make sure the pins line up. There maybe some concern about size using the Mega but the size is only slightly bigger than the screen. The reason why i soldered the wires to the back of the mega. Yes the Arduino Mega mini could be used., BUT you would get a much cleaner finish using the standard version.
      After the release of the stereo version (which is next), then version 2 of the mono.. (both completed).. There will be a few updates fixing any bugs found, then i am sure there will be further updates. I do not own a vu meter myself. so every time i update a vu meter, or make another version i too have to build it. Because of the touchscreen i have decided to build an led tower similar to the ones you have built. I have ordered 50 pieces of acrylic and have all the hardware to complete it I do think the led tower and touchscreen together will look just amazing. especially that this version with the case is just a nice clean finish..
      Again if anyone wishes to see an amazing design of a vu meter tower, please visit kolobov Igor`s youtube channel.. truely stunning work.

      @@cine-lights Thanks for the answer. In principle, the idea was to make two identical towers of the mono / linein system at the mega and run them from different audio channels. Get a stereo with a large selection of vu meters. But with the control of the bluetooth two controllers at the same time the complexity will appear. :) :)

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EGORka140764 if you built two mono vu meters. One using the right channel, and one using the left channel. You would only need to use the mono code on each as they will act according to the signal sent. So in stereo. Bluetooth would be an issue as you will be only able to connect to one at time.

    CL nice project, very nice indeed. How do you mount your LEDs? Sorry for the problems the little dirtbags are causing for you. Wannabe wants to be but all he will be is a LOSER. I enjoy your videos and your projects. Thank you.

      The leds are mounted into an aluminium channel like this : www.theledstore.co/led-profile-for-led-strip-square-round?gclid=Cj0KCQjwrdjnBRDXARIsAEcE5YmLWhr65ICHkdrGdLP1AgYvFWFqwN8OZt_rBcMcTMpO2irxdZ8ma34aAuHFEALw_wcB

    I build the lamp, but i have a problem in the code "Vu meter Fineal V2 . I always have: variable or field 'addGlitter' declared void
    Can somebody help me? Pls

      Levin Obst: To method is void - it does not return anything. here is the method as intended simply takes in a value which is then compared agains a small random number. if so it will take a random pixel and make it white.
      void addGlitter( fract8 chanceOfGlitter) { // Let's add some glitter, thanks to Mark
      if( random8() < chanceOfGlitter) {
      leds[random16(N_PIXELS)] += CRGB::White;
      }
      } // addGlitter
      And it's usage. just passes a value . addGlitter(sampleavg); Again not expecting a return value.

    Hi Cine-Lights! I duplicated your project - th-cam.com/video/LXeGRoULy4c/w-d-xo.html.
    I have a few questions. Sometimes (on my video in 1.05, 1.30, 2.32, 2.56) a screen with two buttons "1" and "A" spontaneously appears. When you click on any or a clean screen, it simply returns to the previous screen. What is it ? What does the "P2" option answer - the mod palette, in the "standby menu"? Pressing "P2" opens a window with the options "palette +" and "palette -". Clicking on them that changes?
    And Pattern P, all marked with digits and only he letter.

    Hello, thanks alot for this video.
    I would like to add patterns and some features to my project, such as managing the sensitivity and other settings, via an IR remote control for exemple.
    Did you create the patterns alone or did you find them on the net?
