Even with their existing overpriced €330m package, if they outbid Amazon with €300m for the other chunk, their overall bid would be less than their 2016-20 deal. Funny thing is how Amazon have managed to step into this whole mess and pick up a bargain for something they're not massively invested in strategically. Amazon are obvs massively rich, but haven't really shown an appetite for becoming the major sports broadcaster in any given market, their model so far has been around picking up smaller packages. But in this case, there just happened to be a major package going for pretty cheap so they picked it up.

Honestly, Ligue 1 is getting what they deserve. I understand going after the big money deal but the fact that Seria A declined the same company because they could not offer any guarantees should have been a red flag and something they investigated thoroughly. Now they gave away their rights to Amazon on the cheap but still expect CANAL+ to pay a much higher rate for 20% of the rights is insane.

Besos’s Amazon and Walmart can hire more workers, which means more power to the wealthy, and more poor people. Rich gets richer, poor is poor and is very expanding. It’s The opposite of what you want if you’re fighting for income equality if you claim there is income inequality.
