@11:53 The ONLY thing that's going well financially as far as French Sport is concerned is the 24 Heures du Mans/Le Mans 24 Hours, and that's an international, once-a-year event. And maybe the French Open, but even that's a once-a-year event.

News that’s come in that LFP Media and ITV announced an agreement enabling ITV to broadcast the weekly Ligue 1 McDonald's highlights magazine show in the UK for the 2024/2025 season. The first programme will be broadcast on ITV4 at 6:25pm (local time) on Wednesday 30th October and will also be available on the ITVX streaming platform

Great vid👍 shame not many people talking about this. I am assuming they'll have to do their own streaming service

Might have to if a media partner or partners cannot be found

This is one of the reasons why MLS has not opened up the pocketbook for player transfers. They want "sustainable" growth.

Also remember profit and revenue are to different but related things.

@@TheSportsBoffin The deal MLS struck with apple tv is apparently going to help them in the long run, but I'm not giving them a cent to watch games when I could watch them for free before on the local stations. They are also trying to kill off the US open cup with this new tournament with Liga MX which will make them billions. Sad sad times when everything is selling out for money.

Do you just follow the MLS or do you also follow any European leagues/teams?

@@TheSportsBoffin I use to watch European leagues up until 2016. I check back in from time to time. Watching Leicester City win the prem and athletico Madrid winning la Liga in 2014 did it in for me. We will never see that happen again with the way football is going.

@@coloradoslasthope1608mls is a absolute joke mate , the system there is extremely broken and hardly what I would call "sustainable growth"

I've always been a big fan of Ligue 1 so this is a bit of a shock to me with Eight teams facing bankruptcy. It's always been really strange to me that as a footballing nation France is very successful, but only one team from France has won the European Cup. Plenty of teams have made finals but cannot get over the line.

Crowds are not great and without a TV deal look for clubs to sell talent in transfer market to plug the financial hole clubs are in

French league has always been poorly supported, for a top nation the league has never been that great.

Big talking point in football right now should be the match fixing going on at Euro 2024.
