RNLI Bicentenary - 26 March 2024

We celebrated the remarkable 200th anniversary of the RNLI in Westminster Hall. I acknowledged its rich history, commended its impactful efforts, and expressed gratitude to its dedicated volunteers. Additionally, I highlighted the Glasgow Humane Society, initially led by Ben Parsonage and later by his son, Dr. George Parsonage MBE. Their heroic efforts in rescuing thousands from the Clyde, thereby saving numerous lives, deserve special recognition.
