Hello Alex. I think many of us need an explanatory sound editing video prepared in your simple way. For example, you can share with us the sound editing you have done to improve the vocals of any youtube video.
It's what I've said many times. Alex raises the bar for TH-cam videos so much that I now shout at the screen when I'm watching a video where I'm told how NOT to do things!
It just pulls your fonts from your computer. So any you have installed, will be available within Resolve. There's loads of great places to get fonts such as fonts.google.com/
As always, a brilliant tutorial, loved the Q&A live stream you did recently and hope you do some more. Still learning but every video is a step forward for me 👍👍

thanks for the tutorial! But I found the "digital Glitch" effect is very resource intensive, and the preview will stuck. I'm using Macbook pro M1 8G memory, seems it's not enough for that.

Thank you your tutorials are simple and easy to understand and don't require "jumping through every option in davinvi" unlike other tutorials on yt which are recommended by youtube itself I guess I just demand too much from myself too fast I want to "grow" I feel the dullness on these videos suits me (sorry for shitty B1 english XD)

Is there an effect to set the text on fire. Not playing a video of fire, but creating flames along the edges or body of the text. Again, Hitfilm Pro has this effect. And it is pretty cool. Of course I could do the burning text in Hitfilm and export a video and import it into DaVinci. 😅

You've surpassed Casey Faris for me 😊 Don't tell him though 🤫 Tbh, 75% of the stuff your teach I will probably never apply to the videos I make at present. But I still feel inclined to add 99% of your new vids to my watchlist and binge because it's super interesting and relaxing. I've said it before on a recent poll you made, but would love to see a video about your creative process, studio and recording setup. Almost like a "Day in the life" type of thing. Appreciate it might not get the views you want, but it'd be super interesting for beginner creators, such as myself, regardless of what type of content they make. Keep it up, mate. Your probably won't get a chance to read this comment, but wanted to write it nevertheless.

How you have learned thousands of functions that the Davinci have? Years of learning everyday? I must be dumb but i think i could never learn to do this kind of editing, its easy to follow something step by step but its hard to actually know every function what it really is and what it does so you can begin and be creative. Not to mention the fusion page and color grading page, i think aliens have developed this softwares, lool.
Hmm I guess it actually would, technically. If you take a look at my actual neon sign within my studio (in this vid). It doesn't project any light backwards towards the wall, so if you had a lightsource facing towards the neon light, it would cast a shadow. But, that's all pedantics haha! It's just to give it some seperation from the wall and give two 2d things, a slightly more 3d look.
I am using 18.5 build 41 and the default for Anim Curve was transition. I had to go into Fusion modifiers and change it from transition to duration to get the Typewriter effect to work as yours did.
Dude, what a video! - love it! Literally had this open all day while I'm putting a clip together. Used the Neon, Typewriter and some fat text with green flames! - lovin it! thank you so much!
Thank you very much for this video! You are the best Alex! I knew most of the effects but did not know how to do a fire effect and picture within text using the second method. For water effect I always used Fusion page and displace and fast noise nodes to create it, but with this you can make it in the Edit page. So much easier.! Keep up the good work. You rock! 👍💪

Where did you get your font text? I am using Davinci resolve 18, and the font choice by default is very poor.
