I've used this method for quite a while now. I make rushing montages so 45 second clips @ 1080p do well for me. I've also checked file resolution and megapixel of clips trimmed on XB before uploaded to XBL vs uploaded whole then edited using whatever app the person uses. The quality is the same. I actually made a video using this method and explained Upload Studio and how you lose quality when it renders and you lose quality again when YT compresses the video. However, I use Inshot since I can save 1080p videos as a 4K file size to minimize lost quality. Believe me, the visual difference is noticable. Lol. I also love Inshot because of the sharpness adjustments you can make. You max out the sharpness and save the video as the custom max file size (2304). You'll end up with a video that's 4096 x 2304p @ 9.4MP instead of 1920 x 1080p @ 2.1MP. This is the best way to boost your 1080p clips off your XB. I haven't tried doing a 720p clip or 10min video yet but I'm sure it'd look fine.
I looked this up for a friend (I'm serious lol). I don't have an Xbox and I'm gonna just tell him what to do. So there aren't any other choices that show up? It goes from 5 min to up to 1 hour and you just stop when you're done?
Does this make capturing the footage more reliable as well? Sometimes I capture footage on the Xbox but when I go to my clips and check, It's not there as if I never even recorded it?

Ps5 is better for capturing because instead of pre starting a recording you can just capture the last 60 min with a single tap. Great for reviewing gameplay
Yes if you got Adobe premiere pro you can do multi cam editing and it might sound a little off bc the echo but if you layer the gameplay audio above the commentary audio it should sound pretty good
If you have a phone you can just record your call on discord or something with a free screen recorder and add it to the gameplay using a phone editor (I use YouCut)

Is there anyway to capture audio with the gameplay this way? I know playstation u can, cause they allow up to one hour internal game capture. I was told you cant get audio when saving gameplay capture to external usb. Guess there right cause I cant get audio to work. Just seems ridiculous to me. Guess if not then I will have to do gameplay from my playstation pro. I just rather play on my xbox X for that true 4k.
If you still want to, you could separately record voice audio from a separate like a phone because there are many apps that you can use to voice record and you could do some sort of signal to notify that that's where you need to edit it in because that's what I do and it works perfectly fine

If you have set it up as he says in the video, then start a game, press xbox button go to the "Capture & Share" options and select "Start Recording" if you want to record but not broadcast/stream. Make sure the Capture Settings (i.e. Duration, Resolution, and more) recognizes your usb flash drive. Note: I also had to full shut down my xbox, disconnect my usb flash drive, reconnect usb and then turn my xbox one back on for my xbox one to let me put the capture location to external.

Don't know why but I wasn't able to set my flash drive as capturer location from capture settings. Also there isn't advance settings there. Also it's name isn't Broadcast & capture now rather Capture & share. But I could set it as capture location from settings/system/storage and there with right click on my flash drive I could set it as the capture location. Just in the capture settings it didn't let me to set the capture location to external drive. It didn't show the option of external only internal besides I already put in my flash drive. I'm happy that I managed to set it elsewhere.

Doesn't have that option on MY Xbox one X. Doesn't even have the word BROADCAST anywhere. Just Capture. 5 minutes tops.
That's option one for me. Option Two is recording from Twitch. What you gotta do is link it to your account i think through your Xbox One.

Maybe the storage on your usb is too small to hold more than one 1 hour clip so it has to do smaller

Depends on the size if the usb, when im recording on my pc in 1080 it will take around 12-14gigs for 30 minutes.

Something I had to do because it wasn't reading the usb was to power cycle and unplug the power supply. Then it was recognized.
