Mark is the original author of Mary Did You Know? His friend Buddy Greene wrote the musical arrangement. It truly is a masterpiece. Mark was never greedy with keeping the song to himself, it is his gift to the world. ❤

Mark was sitting in his bus one night and started thinking, what would I ask Mary as the mom of our Savior 💜

I've met mark several times and seen him perform so many times. Back in the day he was Christians weird al and could sing like this.
He is a wonderful gift that I hold dear to my heart ❤️

This performance takes this song to a whole new level. Mark's faith and conviction is transmitted through every word and note he sings. He is seated because he has MS, which makes his long-held notes even more amazing.

Mark doesn't have ms, I was listening to him on his TH-cam segment titled just whenever , and just before he went on tour he was talking about the hospital that told him he had it 20 years ago, and he says he has never had any symptoms, and doesn't have it. Please check out just whenever

I enjoy many of the other versions of this beautiful song (Home Free and Pentstonix are both wonderful) BUT to hear the author, Mark sing it they way he intended with #Voctave’s mastery of harmonies, layering and especially dynamics is unprecedented, magical and pure vocal perfection. To Mark this is not just another Christmas song, it is about His faith and His Saviour, sung with awe and wonder. To me this is as close to Heavenly music as we’re going to get until we get there!!
Please anything and everything by Voctave is worth listening to! They’ve got so much more to discover re Christmas music,,Disney and Broadway. I guarantee goosebumps and jaw-dropping with the biggest smiles of joy! I’ve subbed for more!

Voctave doesn't use autotune or pitch control when they sing because they want to sound the same live as they do on the recordings.I got to see them last year and sometimes they will put their mics on the floor and sing to show you that they sound the same as they are when they are amplified! They are unbelievable! All of their Christmas stuff is as good as it gets and they put the Disney in their Disney songs, because they all have sung with The Voices of Liberty at Epcot in Disney World Florida!

Voctave is both stunning and fun! You can't go wrong with any of their Christmas music. Their Disney Princess and Love medleys are also amazing. ❤

Mark Lowry was part of the Gaither Vocal Band. They are all high-quality vocalists; David Phelps is well worth looking into. Mark also has a few comedy videos on TH-cam. Mark is sitting in this performance because he has multiple sclerosis. This is undoubtedly my favorite rendition of this song.
Another amazing a capella Christmas rendition is Home Free singing "Do You Hear What I Hear".

Such a gorgeous version. Saw Voctave in concert last year and they are amazing. If I'm remembering correctly, most of Voctave has worked for Disney as singers in the parks, in other settings for Disney and even some soundtrack work.

Amazing reaction!! Voctave is absolutely one of the most impresive showdown of singing humans. Check more of them like Holy Night, disney princess medley, love medley, disney heros and villans medley. All 10/10 performances and really interesting on their own

Richard, thank you for your heartfelt and beautiful reaction to this heavenly song. Yes Mark wrote it, and has been with the Gaither's.

For another Christmas song. check out "Home Free" version of "Do you Hear What I Hear", they are an all accapella band also and also did 'Mary did You know". Mark Lowery sang with the Gaither Vocal Band and a member of GVB was David Phelps and his version of "O Holy Night" is impressive

Voctave is amazing! I'd also like to recommend the acapella groups VoicePlay and Home Free. They each have different styles, but both are wonderful.

Check out Home Free’s, an acapella group, version of these Christmas songs…”Mary Did You Know,” “O Holy Night,” “Do You Hear What I Hear” as well as many others. You won’t be disappointed!

Came here to second this, I'm glad he saw this comment. That's the best way to hear them all featured, other than the song "Somewhere" in which they each get a small solo.

He is the lyricist, shortly thereafter he had his friend Buddy Greene wrote the music. Voctave is an acapella group that I have heard in person and they sound as good on stage as well as on TH-cam. For the final audio mix, Ed Boyer is the go-to guy that works with the best of acapella: Voctave, VoicePlay, Home Free, and Pentatonix. Watch Mark Lowry who has incredible breath control and I believe that he and Voctave did this one with only a final mix. His 2 long breaths - by my watch the first one is 23 seconds and the final one is 18 seconds. They wanted Mark to join them for his song. Mark has been a pastor, a comedian, a poet, a lyricist and singer. This rendition of his song is ethereal, heavenly, and so emotional. One of the fellows in Voctave occasionally will join VoicePlay as a featured guest vocalist and his name is EJ Cardona. The songs he's done for VoicePlay is I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt), and Go the Distance (Disney - Hercules).

So glad you have reacted to Voctave. They are the best in the world for pure vocals. May I suggest for Christmas O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, Where Are You Christmas, Need a Little Christmas, Carol of the Bells. For Disney (where they all sing) I recommend; Disney Princess Medley, Disney Love Medley (sung with Kristin from PTX), Disney Heroes and Villains. For Broadway; The Great Movie Medley, One Short Day, Somewhere (where you can hear each singer sing a solo), I am What I am (sung with The Swingles) and anything else Voctave performs. Amazing.

And you can tell they're singing this live by looking at their throats...they constrict on certain notes. Voctave contains singers from the Liberty Voices from Epcot at Walt Disney World.

I have been watching Mark on Total Christian Television, mostly known as TCT, for decades. He would sing a lot with a Christian group called The Gaither Family.

Voctave is a vocal group like Pentatonix, VoicePlay or Home Free. There are 11 members. Mark Lowry joined them for this performance. The lyrics were written in 1984 by Mark. The music was written by Buddy Green in 1991. I think this performance shows, how much this song means to Marc. He sings with so much passion.
For more Vocatve I can recomend their rendition of "Somewhere": th-cam.com/video/HDeT8IDsNkU/w-d-xo.html or "The Impossible Dream": th-cam.com/video/yIvV3l0GGEQ/w-d-xo.html
