All of the same things Trump has been convicted of..not to mention sexual assault!
yes but a big difference is this guy is a thief just like the Mayor of New Orleans
So, in every other situation, we say black men are treated harshly and unfairly by the justice system. But you are mad because he was pardoned by trump. Would it make a difference if President Obama pardoned him??
@annfrierson6325 he had 17 felonies?? It's still wrong whether u are the President or the Mayor don't 💩 on people who believe in u
Hopefully Trump gets the same treatment….
Had tremendous hope for this young man. Unfortunately he lost his way like many of today’s politicians.
i'm from MI and was barely politically aware 20 years ago so it's interesting to hear this side of the story, u can tell he is sincere.
Is there an unsolved murder in relation to a party given at the Mayors Mansion ? Or is/was a conspiracy? Asking for a friend
….and you still don’t know
I am happy for him. The Father is always there, turning seeming darkness into a beacon of light on His behalf.
Thank you, Thank you My Brother Marc Lamont for having such an Inspiring and Honest Conversation with Kwame Kilpatrick !!…Look at God , he will humble You and then give You the Tools to be Great again , he’s words of Spirituality comes across Genuine!…🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️🙌🏽🙌🏽💎🔥👊🏽❤️🙏🏽🥰😎
I pray he has transformed. Anyone can be redeemed and none of us are prisoners of our last heinous act or thought.
I used to want to write him a letter and say just humble yourself and surrender to God and things will turn around for you. Only God can do it. I am so happy for him and even more happy to see the man he has become. I’m even happier for his sons. I believe he was always a good Dad and I’m so happy that they have him home. 🙌🏾🙏🏾
I wish Kwame would have said, « listen, I screwed up big time with mismanaging funds and my marriage when I was in office. The feds didn’t spare me unlike if I was the white man. But I should have known better because as a black man, I know better. … I have changed my ways now, and here’s how: ». That would have created substance to the interview

Very well said. He takes no accountability.
@@thehoneydeev u must have forgot he was a niqqa living the rich and famous times of a rapper sponsored by the city of Detroit 😂🤪🤣
That’s BS the dude said he did what was stupid and how bad he failed his family He made his peace and is moving forward your understanding is NOT a prerequisite of his healing

His problem was he lied kept lying and taunted people and used his ego to push forward to the point of ending up in prison where he belong.
Known this brother since 79. Glad he got back on.
When to school with and had classes with Kwame at FAMU. He was also on the football team. Kwame was a good dude and a great student. I can only say what I know of him to be true. Ironically enough I also went to school with Ray Nagin (former Mayor of New Orleans) at Tuskegee Institute. Ray was the QB of our intermural football team (The Machine). We won the championship, undefeated, and Ray was a big reason. Another good dude who found himself mired in controversy.
Perfect example of someone who fumbled the ball😏
You nvr heard, "Don't throw rocks in glass houses."
Now its TIME FOR TIFFANY HENYARD
I met someone the other day who said Kwame's misdeeds directly took money out of his pocket which caused him financial harm.
Happy Fathers Day. I think I saw Mr Kilpatrick on an episode of AMERICAN GREED.
Exactly
I missed that episode...let me go on Peacock right now!!!!
yeah I saw that one...
Kwame needs to come clean or just talk about what he is currently doing. Trump exonerated him to get him to sway black folks. Kwame knows how to play political ball. He knows that he better back Trump. He will blackballed if he didn’t comply.

Wow! A disgraced, imprisoned mayor would have given trump the black vote? What does that say about us?
Yep, they used him, but, hey, birds of a feather! 🤷♀️
@marciawade9101 so he still lying in2024?
Good to see him.
He was tried, convicted, and served his time. AND is taking accountability. What more is there to?? Let that man live.

Kwame was like a dark skin Suge Knight, but just in Detroit. Also, Suge was a hip hop boss and Kwame was the "Hip Hop" mayor and y'all know that! LOL.

Reminds me of Henry and Helen Marzette chronicles 20 Grand and Roostertail . He definitely was caught up in the glamour he spoke of such things . His barber was my nephew who passed at the UofM campus tragically went through his windshield car crash rip

That suv that he claims he didn’t order was in the garage of DPD headquarters where I worked. So when he stood on the steps with the chief of police saying it was a lie, we were upstairs looking at the purchase order for the vehicle.

Not even close.....
Kwame should be ashamed after what he did the City of Detroit....
Literally erased from the Halls of Florida AM he should have been or could have been President. He’s not Gilchrist an exemplary leader working with Gretchen Whitmer, and he had Granholm backing up he blew it !!!!
I'm not a fool. He is a great talker. I hope he keeps on the right path.
As a former Detroiter, I would’ve liked an explanation regarding Ferguson and what he believes he did do. (Unless he thinks he was only wrong for the $13k)

Kwame is an intelligent articulate black brother who had the ball in his hand could have spearheaded change and dropped the ball. The power and fame him consumed him and he paid for it. I do not feel sorry for the brother. He is not a victim. He could have stayed low under the Feds redar; however he looked for the spotlight and they found him. God forgives . I do to; however this brother was arrogant at the time. Lets move on. Nice brother old news. The Lesson is potential is nothing unless you do something with it.
Absolutely, well said! Don't forget that his former wife, Carlita was just as arrogant and greedy as he was... 😮
God never change. Kwame is a saint compared to DTrump

BUT WHAT ABOUT TAMARA GREEN’S FAMILY?
@@indianapolislibramom8383 You mean the exotic dancer who was in the car with a known dope dealer when she got shot?
There’s absolutely no proof of his involvement in that… just unsubstantiated rumors.
No one is saying Kwame has not changed for the better BUT a true redeemed person OWNS their wrong when asked as a testimony. Detroit was hurt and stolen from badly by HIS Administration but Nevertheless God has given Detroit a new pair of legs as a Come Back City!!! Amen...
Please, you two have to be aware of threats made on two black women in Atlanta, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shay Moss. Marc, I have always loved and respected you as a Christian moral human being; I will leave it at that.
I could be wrong, but I don't think Marc is a Christian.
Who in the news is publicly supporting Ruby Freemsn she’s terrified her daughter is traumatized and regardless of the monetary success in court unless they leave the country those women are not FREE in the United States or Kapernick
I'm a Lifetime Detroiter.. We Love Kwame. I've always supported Him. He rejected the prosecutors advances n she came after him
Kim Worthy would never and Kwame has never rejected anyone.
KWAME IS A LIAR HE CHEATED ON HIS WIFE HE LOOKED INTO THE CAMERA AND LIED ABOUT CHEATING ON HIS WIFE HE NEEDED TO BE PUT UNDER THE CELL
Who tells the truth about cheating on their husband or wife?
He literally admitted to adultery lol
Adultery is nothing. The wife knew she was #1 on paper. She wouldn't leave, bc her whole image and stature depends on the marriage. So cheating and a youth smart man will yeild to other women. The Tamera Green case is the highlight, weird, and sad. Other than that he could have had a presidential vote from many of us, with Detroit being his exemplary work. We followed his work globally, i dont think he knew his opportunity and got comfy in his arrogance. Great mind, great leader, great visionary who knew how to rebuild a city. And he was the perfect age and era to change the world.
Well he compartmentalize two lies also can be true at that same time
Excellent, heartfelt , and inspiring interview.
I remember watching the documentary American Greed- my first introduction to Kwame.
Listening to him now I hear a person who got more than jailhouse religion. It was a life-changing experience for the greater good ‼️ 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 🙏🏾‼️👊🏾‼️🙏🏾
This is the first time I heard him take some accountability. I do feel like he still deflected on some issues regarding the crimes, but it’s clear he’s done some good work on himself. I’ve regained some respect for him. I’m a former Detroiter and he also was my brother’s teacher at Marcus Garvey academy. Everyone deserves a second chance when they take accountability.
A guy that was in charge to help the people but hurt the people. SMH I wouldn't want to interview him. Let the Lord deal with him, and I hope he got that soul right.
Many of you are rooting for your KWAME!!!
“Radically independent” Love it.
Really! Go preach… How about just live right. Just another way to make money. He has to figure out someway to make money now that his political career is done. God is calling you to live right first. The world needs to see a redeemed and repentance humbling man stand up for Christ Jesus and once he was set free from jail he still chooses Jesus HALLELUJAH

Kwame was guilty, detroit has had black majors since the 80's and still has them, not one other major has been convicted of anything close to wjat kwame was. He also was pardoned by Donald trump and has of last week vauched for trump when he came to Detroit to talk to black Churches in the area, ol'boy is just running the trump script. Everyone in detroit knew he was giving out sweetheart contracts to people, not saying other majors didnt do the same thing but kwame was just so flagrant with it. Kinda disiponed with marks light ball interview. After kwame detroit was in one of the worst financial situation it ever saw. They sold off alot of schools and city property for pennies on the dollars, it was a realy bad time and kwame wasnt totally resposible but he did profits himself and his family and freinds on the backs of the citys residence. He didnt leave Detroit in a better way than when he joined it.

Marc needs to get somebody Black from Detroit to respond to some of the things that Kwame has said. I was still living in my home of Detroit during both of his terms and there were many rumors about the things that Kwame and his crew did; the stripper party at the Mayor's Mansion in which one of the strippers died. She supposedly had a fight with Kwame's wife, whooped her ass and somehow she died after. There was the girlfriends he had while being married. As I said, these are rumors but it would be nice if he addressed them.
Why would it be important to know if he had girlfriends? Don’t you think law enforcement would have charged him if they could for the stripper’s death? That came up in his trial, I remember his assistant being asked about it.
It’s over now let the move on and help other’s.
I knew that stripper, Strawberry, cuz I picked her up a few times in a cab back in the day. She used to work a club on Livernois just North of Tireman. She was respectful and always tipped you a few bucks. Never cared about the politics of Detroit but could never understand why Kwamé destroyed Livernois Ave by building that dividing island that's not even finished to this day
Marc is FOS. Totally turned me off with his interview style.
The girlfriend thing is real no rumor Christen Beaty went to jail!
What about his daughter from the affair he had? What happened to her mother👀😯🤨KK
Great interview. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 💪🔥❣️
I'm not a member but could someone suggest Dr Hill research guests. Kwame act like the Feds investigated him out of no where because he was black.
Great comment
Thank you! Everyone can't be wrong about you, Kwame.
Exactly. A move many people use. He thought he was untouchable he had people pushing his delusional behavior. I would suggest he get a regular job go on about his business and stay out of jail.
What exactly makes you think he didn't research Kwame Kirkpatrick? Do you think you know his story better than he does? I didn't hear either Kirkpatrick or Hill proclaim him to have been an innocent political prisoner. Did you even bother to listen to the interview while you continued condemning him?
The Feds do just that. J Edgar Hoover was notoriously known for just that!!! You must have NOT READ America Black history as it relates to black ppl w/ the Federal Government and FBI. I have another level of respect for anyone that own it and move forward to lift his community with him!!!
I still remember meeting him when he was running for mayor. I really looked up to him and all he was able to do for the city of Detroit. Detroit would not be what it is now without the implementation of the reorganization of downtown. It seems like if he had waited to grow up more he could have avoided this path. Good luck to him in his future endeavors.
That was a good interview. He did in fact start the rebuild process in Detroit.
He still has murder charges to answer to... " Tamara green"

He betrayed Detroit when he decided to become corrupt instead of helping the community.
Make sure you never commit an error and ppl hold you responsible FOREVER!!!

Justice meaning what specifically? Don't you have to PROVE allegations to get justice..
If you want to talk justice for Detroit, then let’s deal with Albert Cobo’s legacy. Let’s talk about Big 4, the Black Bottom, school closing, and the Coleman Young administration of the 1980’s. Until we deal with that first, you can’t mention justice

He got sidetracked real quick and never stopped, until Barbara McQuade stopped him. He used the City as a personal piggy bank and his wife and father joined in with both feet. No matter how he dress it up today, simply put "HE WAS A COMPLETE CROOK". He took Detroit back 20 years and never looked back. His arrogance and greed was always front and center. I see from this conversation he hasn't eaten enough humble pie!

I do not even live in Detroit but I was in the Michigan area for Law school during that time but a good friend and Law Classmate of mine whose family was well connected got me interested in learning about him and she prophesied he was going to jail eventually.
