This seed variety was taken from a humble farmer in Karnal whose family have been growing this variety for decades with natural farming processes, out of their selfless love for humanity and the planet, they shared the seeds with people who would turn to natural farming and sow this variety of seed. One farmer, took the seed and brought it to Art of Living. I appreciate Art of Living bringing this to the rest of India and hopefully the world. But now they are acting like it's "their" variety and have jacked up the prices. Making it now a grain to be consumed by the "elite" class of people. They are selling it at Rs. 150 per kilo. They buy from farmers whom they lock into contracts for Rs. 30 per kg. Sell it to their company at Rs 80 per kg (making a profit of Rs. 50 per kg in this company) then again, they increase the price to Rs. 150 per kilo and sell to their members who follow them blindly. Making an additional profit of Rs. 70 per kilo. In total, the farmer gets Rs. 30 per kilo, and the Aashram gets Rs. 120 per kilo. Where is the justice or humbleness in this? Who has the risk? Who has the most suffering? If anything, the farmers should be getting the majority of the prices. But these corporations exist to only act as middlemen agents in order to jack up the prices. If anything, we need more farmers as our population increases. Wheat is the most important source of nutrition and food security that has allowed population to increase. The earth is huge, we are under utilising production capacities. Resources are plentiful to grow more wheat and triple the earth's population. But, for this to happen easily, farmers need more money to reinvest into their businesses and in purchasing more land to grow more wheat in accordance with natural farming practices ie. permaculture.

Can you kindly inform if this breed of wheat is 2000 years old, then why did not evolve to become the most used crop rather we use the normal wheat. Is this a hybrid of variety of wheat or is it native food from middle East, as we had to provide a new name recently in India. Pahari region of kullu people also grown desi variety of wheat till last year but unfortunately now they are not growing this seeds and going to distinct. This seed is also low in gluten easily to digest even if chew raw seed. It completely dissolve with silaiva. Plz art of living protect this rare variety also
