Great video Omar. My first exposure to Batman: Hush was through the Eaglemoss DC GN series. It happened to be the first 2 volumes of the set, which was at times a tad Batman heavy. It did however set me on a path to buy lots of Batman. I own things like the Knightfall & No Man's Land series among others. Also getting another ongoing Eaglemoss "Legend of Batman" series. I have the whole New 52 Batman run in trades and been progressively getting the Rebirth run in trades too. Look forward to video #3. Cheers mate 😊
Currently in the middle of this read-through and wanted to suggest a slight adjustment to the order. When reading Ed Brubaker vol 1, stop after issue #586. Then read New Gotham vol 1. Then read Officer Down (btw, the collected edition excludes the Batgirl v1 #12 tie-in to this story, though it's not essential), then False Faces -- then resume Ed Brubaker vol 1 which picks up with #591. This has more consistent continuity if read this way. Huge thanks for these, Omar. You're a National Treasure.

Thank you for another great video. Currently I own only 3 of the 29 books you mentioned. I was shocked being a big bat fan how little from this period I have. Need to get cracking. The hush absolute I own is wonderful though. Would love New trades for no man's land and maybe even a omnibus for under the red hood in the future. Is red hood the lost days going to be on your reading order for part 3 and is it worth picking up?
I haven't actually read anything from Batman from the 2000s other than Grant Morrison's run so I don't know anything about any of these books, but those New Gotham Detective Comics trades, a lot of those pages look like they're out of Grendel: Black, White, and Red.
@@NearMintCondition Might check some stuff out, though Batman stuff from the 70s, 80s, and 90s tend to not rely on other stuff too much so easy to get into, whereas a lot of Batman stuff from the 2000s seems like you need a bunch of other stuff to understand things since a lot of stories lead directly into other stories. Or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Looks like there's a Batman Paul Dini omnibus coming out next month, though.
Thanks for your hard work Omar, invaluable. However it looks like half these books aren’t available anymore 😢 i wonder if DC will either reprint some or turn some into bigger omnis.
I actually was debating if I should upgrade and pick up the no man’s land trades cause I do have the OG trades...but instead I’m gonna wait till (hopefully! Cmon DC!) there’s an omni!
Hey Omar, any suggestions for what to pick and choose from the 90s Batman events like Knightfall and No Mans Land on a limited budget? I’m trying to compile a timeline with a all the major events in Batman’s career and I definitely don’t want to skip those seminal stories before I go onto things like hush and under the red hood but there’s just sooo many preludes and tie ins and overall material to those stories, I’m unsure how to get through them
I made the mistake of buying the original No Man's Land TPB. I think I'll wait to see if they're going to do an omnibus release since there's the Road to No Man's Land omni coming soon.
Hi Omar l got a question I’m on a bit of a budget and wanted to know which omnibus you would suggest getting if l could only get one should l get infinity gauntlet or Annihilation?
Omar, Could you share a map of your Joker: Last Laugh bind, please? I’m interested in reading the story with the tie ins. Thank you these videos! I redid my Batman shelf over the weekend with these videos.
I also have another recommendation would you consider in the future doing a companion video for batman which includes shadow of the bat, legends, minis etc? Thanks😀
@@NearMintCondition i don't blame you reading too much of one character can give you fatigue. Sometimes there is too much of a good thing.. Ive done it on Spider-Man before when i read 100s of issues back to back.
@@NearMintCondition so... I got home and it turns out my son (5) dropped an omni and now it seperated from the spine. Funnily enough it was a batman omni but i think he was trying to get at infinite crisis. Any ideas on how to fix?
I think the only hole I see here is that, if you don't include Bruce Wayne: Murderer, and Fugitive, the books where the new Batgirl gets introduced, makes it look like she only appear out of thin air in No Man's Land

I kept that mini out since it wasn't Batman or Detective. Maybe for a future Red Hood Reading order.
I haven't actually read anything from Batman from the 2000s other than Grant Morrison's run so I don't know anything about any of these books, but those New Gotham Detective Comics trades, a lot of those pages look like they're out of Grendel: Black, White, and Red.
There is some damn good books from that era. Honestly. Paul Dini's run is solid.
Hoping they do No Man's Land Omnibus after Road to No Man's Land
I'm really hoping they are gonna do No mans land complete in omnibus. They really need to do contagion and legacy in omnibus too.
Yes they do.
Do Contagion and Legacy in absolute editions.
Hey, I realize I’m late to the party here but you left out Batman War Drums before War Games.
It comes after war games. It’s The aftermath.
By the way on Amazon there is a trade of under the hood that collects both volumes together I think.
Yes that came out around the time the movie did.
Thanks for your hard work Omar, invaluable. However it looks like half these books aren’t available anymore 😢 i wonder if DC will either reprint some or turn some into bigger omnis.
Enjoyed so much
Thank you so much.
I actually was debating if I should upgrade and pick up the no man’s land trades cause I do have the OG trades...but instead I’m gonna wait till (hopefully! Cmon DC!) there’s an omni!
I hope so.
is that a custom binding for Last Laugh? I've been waiting forever for it to all to be collected as an omni or over sized HC
Got tired of waiting for DC to make an omnibus so four years ago I got one made.
i'm missing a lot of these!! 🤣🤣🤣
Part of the reason I do these videos. To inform people of what is out there.
Would it be possible to have you make a joker last laugh omnibus for me to purchase?
Hey Omar, any suggestions for what to pick and choose from the 90s Batman events like Knightfall and No Mans Land on a limited budget? I’m trying to compile a timeline with a all the major events in Batman’s career and I definitely don’t want to skip those seminal stories before I go onto things like hush and under the red hood but there’s just sooo many preludes and tie ins and overall material to those stories, I’m unsure how to get through them
I would suggest Knightfall, Contagion and Legacy.
Broken City or City of Crime for next purch... also under the hood, is it the first part of under the red hood?
I made the mistake of buying the original No Man's Land TPB. I think I'll wait to see if they're going to do an omnibus release since there's the Road to No Man's Land omni coming soon.
I hope they do an omnibus for that run.
This is awesome, btw would War Crimes be included in this as well? after or before City of Crimes?
I think I included that in the third part.
Hi Omar l got a question I’m on a bit of a budget and wanted to know which omnibus you would suggest getting if l could only get one should l get infinity gauntlet or Annihilation?
Go for Annihilation.
I’m struggling to find Going Sane, is it out of print?
Nice collection
Thank you
Omar,
Could you share a map of your Joker: Last Laugh bind, please? I’m interested in reading the story with the tie ins. Thank you these videos! I redid my Batman shelf over the weekend with these videos.
I sure can and thank you. It might take me a bit to find the file and if I forget, please please email or shoot me a comment. I know how I am.
Near Mint Condition thank you! I really appreciate the help.
I like these ones. Do I have to read the older ones?
@NMC / Any suggestions? What company could I check out, that binds, Smith sewn single issues, into a bound HC like yours?
Houchen. For sure .
For your Joker Last laugh custom bind, what issues did you need for it what order were they in
I also have another recommendation would you consider in the future doing a companion video for batman which includes shadow of the bat, legends, minis etc?
Thanks😀
Great recommendations. Although I'm taking a break from Batman for bit after this month. :) this series of videos wiped me out.
@@NearMintCondition i don't blame you reading too much of one character can give you fatigue. Sometimes there is too much of a good thing.. Ive done it on Spider-Man before when i read 100s of issues back to back.
Awesome... cant wait for part 3. How long was the No Man Land storyline?
About two years really taking into account Road to.
She kind of did appear out of nowhere in No Man’s Land. And the books Included in Murderer really help fill that character out.
bro! can you make or help me create a marvel knights reading order? mostly focused on midnight sons/ morbius ghost rider etc..
Would you mind telling me what are the other books that need to be read before Infinite Crisis? Thanks btw, these videos are so helpful.
Part 3 will be out on Wednesday. But this is everything that takes you to IC.
I think batman: as crows flies is collected in legends of the dark knight matt wagner hardcover
Matt Wagner only supplied the covers
He only did the covers of that and Under the Red Hood.
Sadly he only provided the covers. As others stated. It's a good story too.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Please. What are the issue dates and numbers of Batman and Detective when Batman dropped the yellow oval?
You are looking for the Troika arc. After Knightfall.

Best Video
why don't you make video's about avengers reading order ?
Cowabunga minties 🤙
Hows the binding on your copy of absolute hush? Mines freaking bad. Like absolute swamp thing and miles morales ultimate spiderman omnibus (first printing) baaad.
Solid, it was one of my first Absolutes.
Where in this reading order would Batman join the Justice League? Roughly what time period or year?
Depends on the Justice League era. But honestly around year 3.
Thanks Omar. Where does the Neal Adams Omnibus fit after Year 1? Just after it?
You can read it right after it.
@@NearMintCondition👍 thanks for the quick reply. All my Batman books are now on the floor with an attempt to put everything in order. 😄. Its a mess and my wife thinks I'm crazy ... which is probably true.
Can wait for episode 3 ...
Hi Omar, do you think is there any chance DC does a “Batman by Ed brubaker” or “Batman by Greg Rucka” omnibus in the future? Even a batman contagion and legacy would be cool. Saludos
For me, that's what I want more than anything. Legacy is such an amazing storyline. But we will see.
@@NearMintCondition That would be great. On the other hand, I noticed that cheap graphic novels now has the JSA omnibus 2 and 3 back in stock. Is it a reprint? Thanks
Omar where can I go to get custom binding like that?!
I used to make my own. Send them to a bindery and I would design the covers and ToC. It's been a few years though.
@@NearMintCondition how willing would you be to part with that Joker Last Laugh custom bound for the right price?
