@@Kcimor78 Zerg rush is the way any race can lose. If you are not defending it, scouting it, or anticipating it, you just did yourself a huge disservice. One thing Drogo did not do much of that most other players do is scout. The mid-game transports don't count because it's too late by then.

It's kinda cool that this year Blizz started to add these type of maps with this small mineral line, so could make a big surprise to the enemy. I would expect such moves from Bly rather than from Elazer, but still GG!
I feel like they're learning from the weird and goofy mapmaking tricks that were popular in BW, fell off when WoL came out, but now that BW is getting kind of popular again they're less reluctant to pull out maps like this

He needed to cut everything immediately because his rush failed and he was looking at a 3 base all in with roaches and fast lair. It's hard af to stop a roach push because the very next step is muta, which requires a stargate and production for it. It just gets awkward when you fail that dt rush. That and a spotter pylon might have saved him. Queens are nbd.

SC3 idea: Terran can now build ramps. Also they can build roads for faster unit travel - create (and protect) lanes for extraneous resources. Protoss could have an equivalent, such as a kind of platform on wheels that they could bring to the side of a base and bounce their units up. Some kind of elevator. And for the Zerg... Zerglings could now traverse over buildings. Also the new game should have VERY few units. That way the number of possibilities are limited and the game is much better understood - funner for spectators by a bazillion fold. The strategies would make much more sense and be much more exciting, by decreasing entropy. Not every player/spectator has the time to learn a billion different dynamics - decrease the dynamics and instead put the dynamics in a territory that's more "proceedural" or plays in real time, such as dynamics in terrain, and you have one hell of a watchable game. A couple basic ground units, a couple air units, that's all it would take. Dumb fans will demand more which can be promised with expansions, but the game in it's excellence must be made first.
SC3 Idea: Less "work" dynamics, more simple strategy in building the base. Example: The standard bottom screen is the worker menu, you can click on a building and build it without a worker selected. The nearest available worker will complete the task, and then continue as it was. More physical action than useless "click tasks" like upgrading damage/shields. More physically present, on screen strategy, less mathematical, calculated choice, since we want SC3 to be the ultimate space battle, for spectators as well as players.
Another thing: Less disapearing, reappearing units. Everything onscreen should be easily followable. Things blinking in and out of existence should be mitigated. Drop ships should lower some before picking up units. If you wanted it to be really atmospheric, you could have a very large ship actually land and a door to swing open to drop off a number of units. A drop ship could be an extremely slow unit that transports damn near half the army, and is highly protected.
Basically the game recently released new maps that have a special back entrance that can be opened only by using workers. However, getting through them requires pulling those workers from making money and opening up the path instead, so most people try not to do it until their economy is booming. Elazer decided to sacrifice his economy early on for a cheeky play and won off the risk. Had it not worked he would be really far behind upgrade wise and unit wise and make winning extremely difficult if not impossible

From what I understood, the Zerg simply sacrificed mining time so that his drones can clear his enemy's base mineral barricade to open up a way for his zerglings to pour in. I'm as far from a pro as it gets, but basically you're right. It's just that no one had done this at the pro level, and he pulled all his drones on a guess and hope that Drogo hadn't prepared more early units like zealots in anticipation of this move. If Elazer had failed, his economy would have fallen behind irreparably. Quite the all-in strategy.
Fun fact that most people don't know: workers that are carrying minerals deal +1 damage per hit! This is why pro players often attack using workers with minerals.

(not necessarily would choose to do it, but definitely could for sure) You could even say that playing 3 times a super generic safe build is some form of cheese (as players will expect their opponent to vary their play)

Are you talking about their 2019 gsl vs world finals? Because Serral didn't beat Elazer with "generic safe play" 3 times in a row. Serral only won 2 out of 4 times when he played "safe" builds and in between those he did a nydus rush and a friggin 12 pool. So no, not even Serral has disproved that statement.
