This can’t be said enough, thanks for bringing me back to SC2 and making me absolutely love it because of your videos. That despite me not being very good
One thing I believe you should consider taking advantage of is the overlord's generate creep ability. When you transport queens with a nydus you'll usually have an overlord nearby, use that overlord to dump creep on them so they can transfuse, even just long enough to place a tumor in their base. :3 You can also do other cheeky things like building proxy spines without a hatch, delaying expansions since it takes 45 seconds for that creep to fully dissipate, or dropping a queen with it to place a creep tumor at these expansions that vs terran they'll have to spend a scan or tech to a raven to be able to take. Edit: or use it to hide tech buildings by placing them away from your bases.
@@soulofshukaku Marc's strength is micromanaging fighters. I'd be hard pressed to say there's many others than top tier players that can match him. But managing base stuff, especially overlords, creep, etc...not so much. But he's great at managing workers of every race, he just needs to extend that to Zerg.
I like how in each video, the titles get more and more certain that THIS is the most disgusting cheese ever, lol. Also, whenever I hear you say ""Maybe he's not paying attention", I instantly become glued to the screen to see what you're about to pull off! XD It has "last thing you hear before you die" energy
that shadow of the mule at 17:40 because there was an overlord in the natural that had vision on the mineral line. Haven't seen that from so far away before
Absolutely loving your content. The cheese ones are by far my favourite, however it's also enjoyable to watch you transition from cheese into macro games so fluently.
uThermal is exactly what you want to watch from ppl with high skills in a game: using their great skills to make garbage work creates unique and entertaining watching experiences. Pro games in any game are incredibly boring as they always funnel down to the same strategies you see in every other pro game it's like a groundhog day. uThermal puts modifiers/conditions on himself, every pro game should have a wheel with modifiers spun to decide entertainment from said game seeing incredible skills players have to make a real spectacle.
My guy, I love your videos. I really enjoy them, I've tried out SC2 on and off and your videos inspire me to come back. I just think you could have twitch chat create your video titles for one or two videos (maybe with spin the wheel mini game?) Just to add any kind of variety to them. Keep up the awesome work & content
I know it has already had it's own time to shine in other series, but that doesnt usually stop you from pulling out builds you enjoy haha... I am quite surprised to not have really seen any classic uThermal spine rushes recently haha
Imagine how much better this would have been with a faster ultralisk burrow. It’s such a critical buff for Zerg, a truly qualitative change that the unit desperately needs.
The vs protoss game was great, it was like a cinematic or something where you threw unexpected waves of zerg units at the enemy in surprising ways. which he couldn't handle. Loved it. More like that game please, haha.
Admittedly, I haven't seen every video. Been watching more. If you know or have a theory/educated guess, I would love to hear why a cheese build probably doesn't work in pro or why you think it could. Obviously, this would be tedious to do every video but I'm always interested in hearing more about theory/strategy especially in pro SC.
When you get a worm in the main I think you should use a queen to place creep tumors. People seem to underestimate the power of denying realistate with creep. It also forces them to commit attention and resources to clearing it.
Same; ive only ever seen them be used as a late game desperation play; almost a pity-play as to say to the opponent 'look how trash my zerg late game units are this game is imba amirite'. But I have to say when rushed like this (and when your opponent refuses to build marauders I suppose) they do seem really scary.
@@eelcohoogendoorn8044I use ultras generally as finishing move if im ahead and i know theyre stuck on a high marine count. Ultras with the armor upgrade make marines useless as seen in this video. But yeah ive also thrown games before with them 😂
I watch a good amount of pro play with a friend and Ultras are the one we make fun of the most. Love that you're doing zerg cheese since it's almost non existent. Really hoping the patch fixes my, limited, view of competitive SC. Terran is my fave but it's too strong. Zerg had fallen far but made a bit of a resurgence. Protoss had seemed so so weak.
You don't have to watch the games uThermal plays, you can simply listen - he explains everything as it happens perfectly! It is preferable, though. Those are some wild games...
With a new incoming patch 5.0.14 I'm looking forward to seeing more Ultras from Thermy and everyone else. The new QoL buff is going to make them much much better.
I don't have the APM anywhere near Uthermal, but I did know that adrenal glands are 200/200. Don't ask me how as I'm a terran player, but I did haha. fun cast sir!
Ah, yes. The "attempted ling drop, into nydus ultra rush, 7 minute attack timing". Standard gameplay, but hey will say this, you could have pulled an overlord to creep for your queens when you were pushing the main.
I'm surprised you haven't used any strategy that involves droping creep from overlords. Maybe something like you go for dropolords and along with other stuff you drop drones that morph into spines on creep that you drop and then rush with them? Great episode.
Please do a "Legendary Bongcloud to GM" challenge. Bongcloud but you have to take a base on your opponents side of the map and you should probably harass with some or all of your SCVs while your command center is flying.
I love watching your videos. I haven't played since Heart of the Swarm, and my 12 year old wanted to learn too! But thing is, is that after some of the campaigns, we both tried a 1v1 practice, got made fun of for sucking, and he hasn't wanted to even try the other campaigns....
Well…he’s brand new he does suck I’m sure. He’s probably been told he sucks in halo or cod or some equivalent too, and I bet he continued on fine. StarCraft is high effort high reward payout but to get the reward you gotta be willing to be taken to task over and over. Not everyone wants to do that.
@Uthermal If you end up wanting to do longer macro games for zerg content ling/bane/infestor/ultra is a real composition and you are basically a baneling nest away from getting to it off of your ultra rush. I still reckon if you want early game zeg aggression you are better off going up to 3 bases ASAP just so you can really try zerg your opponent... Even unconventional cheesy and aggressive zergs like Bly and Meomaika will typically go up to 3 bases before they get aggressive usually trading very efficiently just off the back of higher supply than their adversities and either crushing them, getting good eco damage or trading up in resource value with a follow up of either further macro, more units or upgrades.
That 3rd game gad me on the edge of my seat haha. Great work Also, you know Thermy is smarter than us when he doesn't even have to think for a single moment to spell GLHF backwards. Took me like 15s haha
had enough to nydus infront of the queens for creep... you have lair, so an ov can follow and make creep... become the zerg.. bring the creep. yeha if you do a queen walk, there is atiming wit hlair and overlord speed so you can drop creep spread... for trasnfuse.
This can’t be said enough, thanks for bringing me back to SC2 and making me absolutely love it because of your videos. That despite me not being very good
Same man, same. I’m not even to hot keys level 😂 but I love this game and played the original for way too many hours a day growing up haha
Same for me 😂
Ultralisk rush. The pinacle of zerg superiority

Agreed
Spoiler alert😊
@@AcerPrime Ultralisks were in the thumbmail tho.
@bleflar9183 Thermal also says it in the first 30 seconds of the video haha.
"I guess that means we're improving as Zerg." - Thermy while doing his hidden no creep spread challenge. 😅
Shhh his saving his creep spreading skills for his widow mine spread. Somehow he can cover the map with mines but not creep.

Yea. Or even prevent spines from taking damage when the hatchery dies

Thanks for the ultras. It was very fun to watch. Hope for some more ultras or hydras or somtheing weird like that in future games :)
I'd love an ultra/hyrda rush! ultras to soak up the damage for the hydras.
Gotta love the Ultra Autobahn, I would be salty after a loss like that Terran had ouch. Great cheese uThermal!

Thermy one of the greatest of all time, single handedly brought me back to SC2 - you rock man it's a treat to have a channel like yours
