Great video, cleaned mine out. Was good for a day then service light came back on. This part was replaced a year ago. Glow plugs changed. Switches between service and engine light. Starting to think it's faulty or wiring maybe... been frustrating for months now..

Great Video.. Thks. The works manual say disconnect the -ve battery terminal. Is this to reset ECU or will car automatically learn new parameters?? Also, my EGR has a dirty split pipe under EGR with screws in it?? My next project… another dirty hole to clean
Yes, if you disconnect the battery the ecu will do a soft reset, but if the car is running fine the check engine will go away. I will film more videos in the future regarding the egr and intake manifold cleanup.
Very helpful video. Excellent picture quality makes is easy to see what you are doing. (Too bad about the cheesy music...) But, did it get rid of the "service engine" light?
My car have a low rev I tried all I could then I sold it ..cuz it won’t rev up and the car with spammer lights keep flashing and the check engine light keep flashing too.. I got tired and scared of loosing the car engine totally so I sold it …good by to Diesel engines
Last year it cost me the EGR Valve and the sistem flashing 996£ it is crazy how costly is, did you do sistem flash before, if not can you make a video on sistem flash? The short runs are the killer of the EGR VALVE because the exhaust can't heat up enough to get burned off the diesel partials in the exhaust filter, so the particals block the valve, it is anoing, it got insaid a gas recycling sistem in pleased.
@stuartplume9597 Did you also changed the metal gaskets for the egr?, it is possible to leak some exhaust gases and if you are stationary they can enter the cabin
Cleaned mine 3 times. Was still jamming. Just seen this video now and not realised you need to actually take off the servo motor. Thats where my problem was. I couldnt even push it. When I did it would get jammed fully open. Sorted now just soaking it then I'll try again 😅
@@slaweksawicki I have replaced the oxygen sensor , i have clean the EGR , i have clean the throttle , i have clean the earth cables underneath the battery ,and finally i have taken out the fuel pump and cleaned it with air pressure .
I heard that s a common method, the cooler is more sensitive than the valve itself. And on newer vehicles like yours is best to get it to a specialized mechanic to do it

Yes, it can be, but also if it was not replace with a genuine part it could behave like that. Mine is a bit worn out as well, i clean it once 6 months

Hello, sir, wd40 is a lubricant, I don't think that it will clean it that good. Try with a degreaser, even a kitchen degreaser should do the trick

Sorry to hear, diesel engines are very hard to maintain, they can break at any point.
I before used on mercedes c220 egr cleaner and contact cleaner mixing them once contact cleaner then egr cleaner 5 times if need more and job done

You should try and drive the car a bit, it should dissapear, if not, cleat it with an obd scanner and pray that it never comes back :)

the majority of the cars have an EGR valve, but usually the petrol ones do not get clogged

how does that ribbed hose change, which goes in front of the EGR valve?
it has one clip on the coolant tank and one on the radiator, you just remove those 2 clips and then pull it out

@tibanu23 any idea which way the gaskets should face? I've always put the ribbed part facing the egr valve. My friend reckons thats wrong
@@jackulaoutdoors i ve put them with that part towards the intake manifold, either way, there is no wrong side. it should work both ways
What was the symptom and you needed to clean the EGR Valve ?
The engine was interrupting and i wasn't running smooth, and it was smoking a lot
