I think the issue with Curry is that in last possession moments, the Warriors can’t really run their motion offense which is how Curry gets open majority of the time. So in those last minute 1v1 moments with guys just standing around ball watching, it makes it easier for the defense especially when Curry isnt the biggest guard and can’t elevate over bigger defenders. Yeah, but Steph is a better shooter than Jordan. LeBron has more clutch shots made in the postseason with 1 second left on the clock than Steph Curry, but that doesn't make LeBron a better shooter unless we define "better shooter" as a shooter who has more clutch shots within a certain amount of time left on the clock. The qualifier tells us if a player is a better shooter in a specific category, but if we average/include all shooting across all categories, such as distance from the basket, time on the clock, regular season, postseason, and closet defender while the shot was made, etc., Steph is a better shooter than LeBron James.
Curry is probably the least clutch superstar in the game. I can’t think of a single big shot he has made in his career when a game was in the balance in the playoffs. Steph always chokes those moments away. Luckily they have been good enough where he doesn’t have to be clutch for them to win playoff series.

it can be both. like his point was steph had 50 in a game 7 or even giannis to win the title can be looked at as clutch even though it wasnt a game winning shot. Sort of like if you needed a win and that player balled out the whole game you wouldn't consider that clutch?

Steph struggles in the clutch has to do with fatigue. Like most players his shooting really suffers when he’s tired. Lakers did a good job of making him play defense in the 4th.
Numbers speak for themselves when it comes to the final 24 seconds or so but I’ll say if it’s free throws you need he isn’t likely to miss in the last 24 seconds.
The guy with the most points in the 4th quarter this postseason isn't clutch. The guy who dropped 50 in a game 7 on the road isn't clutch. The guy who has the record for most points in OT in a playoff game with 17 isnt clutch. The guy who put his team on his back in game 4 last year with 43 points snd 10 boards in a must win game isn't clutch. That's the same with MJ vs. LeBron. The same people who think LeBron is the GOAT are probably the same people who grew up loving the Star Wars Prequels and thinking they were true classics when they're not. But ever since the Mary Sue Palpatine Trilogy, it only made a turd in the Prequels look more decent and at times deemed masterpieces by comparison.

Rob, so when curry blows the game wide open in the 4th and wins the game with a blow out is that just as good or better than a game winner? I bet you ignore those wins as “clutch” wins. Clutch is not just making game winning shot at the last minute, dont be a simpleton
No it’s not but it’s a Klutch game if it’s win or go home …. Why play good the entire game for it to come down to a game winner just for him to miss the shot to win the game ? Inspire of all the shots he hit all game
I would argue that Klay is a better shooter than Steph. Ive always said Klay is way more clutch. There isnt a shot Curry can hit that Klay cant. Curry has a better handle but Klay has a post game that curry doesnt.
Rob has made a better argument. It’s easier to make shots during the game but it’s difficult to take and make them at the end of the game. Steph hasn’t proven this in his career.
Quite the opposite, i think Steph's size makes it harder to be clutch, if he shot cleanly, it's likely he'll make it. You can't compare KD and Steph clutch capability since it's easier for KD to be clutch because he's far taller than most. But if you are guarded mostly by foes around 6 inches taller than you, it's harder. You see how hard he exerts just to score a basket

Wonderful news for Rob Parker.
Rob is right and Chris is wrong trying to redefine what clutch is. I hope i dont see yall using this argument in the future smh
@@ScottRachelson777 the topic is about who is and isn't clutch, not who is the better shooter. those are two different things.
Curry is probably the least clutch superstar in the game. I can’t think of a single big shot he has made in his career when a game was in the balance in the playoffs. With using Chris logic, Lebron’s clutch shots are in another stratosphere lol
Reason why they needed kd for those 2 chips...
KD is 6’11” and can get his shot from anywhere on the court. Its easier for him to get that type of shot. Curry has difficulty going 1v1 where everyone is just ball watching so the defense can lock in on him more
Curry is most dangerous when he’s running around all over the floor, but in a 1v1 half court situation you want bigger guys like KD, Lebron, etc. who can elevate over bigger defenders
But he fried the Celtics defense last year that bottled KD up cut it out
well for them to want kd , kd has to be down for it which he was. who wouldn't want kd???

Agree.. 💯
I normally agree with Chris but I 100% disagree. Clutch has to be in the context of time. You can’t say someone’s clutch because he played well in a big game! That’s crazy! Clutch to me is less than a minute of a 3 point game or less. The lesser the time, the bigger the shot.
it can be both. like his point was steph had 50 in a game 7 or even giannis to win the title can be looked at as clutch even though it wasnt a game winning shot. Sort of like if you needed a win and that player balled out the whole game you wouldn't consider that clutch?

Tbh I’ll put Dame ahead of Curry when it comes to Clutch Shots
It’s called a clutch performance. Definitely all clutch when you put a good game together. But I agree it’s hard to be that guy shooting from 30 plus feet.
Whatever you think about Skip. He's been pointing this out for years.
The guy who dropped 33 second half points in a ga,e 6 closeout game isn't clutch. Its the dumbest and lamest argument right now. I’m with Chris I don’t only view clutch as the last 45sec. you can keep adjusting the seconds to fit someone’s narrative. Steph has had plenty of clutch performances thank you.
I like the way Chris is trying to glorify Steph’s performance, which is something Lebron did for most of the 2000’s

It is kinda funny Bron gets hate for losing in the finals/getting to the finals in the east. But guess who beat Steph in the West? No one. Except Bron when he went to the west lmao.
As a Lakers fan, Steph Curry is the greatest shooter. That's why we have to defend his behind and make it difficult for him.
Nobody is debating that. They are talking about when the game is on the line.
Chris is moving the goal post he is. By Basketball Definition,Clutch is when the game is on the line and you make shots to define the outcome of a game within the closing minutes. Chris is just digging his own grave. Steph is the greatest shooter but he is not even close the clutchest shooter.

People still watch Jordan documentaries while nobody cares about LeBron's series as a high schooler on Peacock based from the More Than A Game doc nobody watched. Nobody cared about him and DWade producing that Redeem Team doc on Netflix. Or his Space Jam or House Party movie.
Remember when Michael Jordan got a standing ovation last year in that Top 75 celebration? He was in Cleveland! He used to do repeated "Cleveland steamers" (look it up) on Cavaliers fans constantly and he's getting the loudest ovation over LeBron? 🤣 My favorite stat from Jordan is not losing 3 in a row from 1990-1998.
What exactly are we arguing about here? Jordan accomplished MORE in LESS TIME. LeBron only has longevity stats over MJ. The same kind that Stockton has over Magic because John played 20 years and Karl ✉ has over many NBA greats. LeBron has never been a great jumpshooter from anywhere. He's actually hurting his team from all his LeBricks that the Warriors are daring him to shoot like teams do to Westbrick.
MJ also had a 69er in Cleveland in 1990 which has the highest GameScore ever topping Kobe's 81. He had the Double-Nickel in 1995. But carry on, BSPN. Trying to make LeBron look like the Secretariat of basketball when he's really not and never will be. Secretariat is the Michael Jordan of horse racing. Nobody says the LeBron of something because he isn't the GOAT.
I can't wait after LeBron wins his 5th ring next month, everyone will start calling him the GOAT. Laughable. 🤣 I saw a poll recently where Padmé was beating Leia in it. Padmé? "Hold me like you did by the lake in Naboo." Padmé did nothing meaningful except conceiving the twins. Made me realize too many 1990s and 2000s babies voting. A generation of people think the Star Wars Prequels were good when they're not. It's because of their childhood nostalgia.
That's the same with MJ vs. LeBron. The same people who think LeBron is the GOAT are probably the same people who grew up loving the Star Wars Prequels and thinking they were true classics when they're not. Only Revenge of the Sith was good and even that had problems. But ever since the Mary Sue Palpatine Trilogy, it only made a turd in the Prequels look more decent and at times deemed masterpieces by comparison.
