Ultra Wide! After dealing with the frustrations of dual and triple monitor setups for years, Ultrawidrs wound up being a very elegant solution to that problem.
I respect BenQ products. Easy setup. The 21:9 is great for gaming and not great for most other applications. Wow cool monitor arm setup, i've never seen that before.
21:9 is awesome for most PC tasks. Far more efficient and easier to run than 2 separate monitors. Some folks at the office have 5120x2160 monitors and they are the envy of the office. Just an insane amount of room to work with.
Got the 34" LG850-B IPS due to the nano IPS, but I almost got this one. Factors that decided me to go for LG's : 1. IPS panel colors 2. Best pixel response from 600-1000$ monitor range 3. Got it on sale for 649$ 4. The 1000R curvature seems too much for me, I am not a big curved monitors fan, so Lg's has 1800r Reasons I cosidered before changing my mind: 1. This monitor has great HDR for being 400VA 2. The speakers makes it extra appealing 3. PiP / PbP mode (LG's doesn't have it) 4. Contrast looked awesome on your comparations 5. The stand is way smaller yet sturdy than LG's. (lg's stand is 31.1 cms / 1 feet) 6. It has a darn remote control and a HDR button ! how cool is that ! MOnitor is arriving tomorrow, so if it has any flaw, I will just return it and get this one instead for sure. Great review, very well put together, the HDR/Colors comparition proves that this VA panel can handle the colors well, but they also need some tuning to remove the red/green vail . Question: Does it has 0 black smearing/Ghosting ? There is 0 videos about this sort of geek stats regarding pixel response, input lag, There is only a couple of website that cover that subject, but nothing in deep like RTings website sadly.
@@GeekStreet I keep the LG-34gp83a-b, is an impressive monitor. I am in love with the brightness and color accuracy that comes right out from the pocket, while my last monitor had a FAKE HDR400 (Aorus AD27QD) , this LG is actually capable of handling the HDR just fine, not as good as an OLED or VA top notch panel like the mobiuz on the video, but is actually pretty cool if setup correctly. Got a great panel with 0 imperfections, pixel response is super and input lag is impercebtible. Using it at 144hz 10bit colors with HDR. Never been happier. I am about to replay a couple of games just because of the Ultrawide boredomness. The 1900R curve is quite allright, I swear I was going for the mobiuz if was not for that 1000R high bend curve. Kudoz for your channel, will keep watching it. Cheers from Ecuador, South America PS: yes, I imported the monitor and got it 6 days after purchasing it on amazon. I got a fast courier (expensive but worthy)
How’s your monitor bro? I’m contemplating this benq because I want an ultra wide/curved monitor. I like LG too but their monitors are a little more expensive (understandable) and don’t seem to have the ultra wide and/or curved monitor I want in stock. I’m an Xbox gamer and not playing competitive shooters (only cod) so the ultra high spec graphics and refresh rate isn’t necessary for me. 144hz with good visuals is good enough.
@@ssc1232009 I sold the Ultrawide because I got a ps5 a few months later and this monitor has very poor compatibility with it. Got a gigabyte m32u for 4k 120hz hdmi 2. 1, I don't miss the extra wide from Ultrawides because I have more vertical view on 16:9. I don't miss the poor compatibility on indie games and some AAA games with 21:9 resolution. If I have to be honest with you, stay with 16 9 for gaming, if you want productivity get a secondary monitor on vertical with your 16:9, is a safer choice. Let me know any question
“Ultra wide” - really dig BenQ’s displays. My 1080p 144hz monitor is feeling quite dated these days and I would love to upgrade into the 1440p high refresh world. With Sony’s Inzone announcement recently and their bonkers high prices, this seems like a much better value panel.
hi , can you tell does this monitor perform bad in dark scenes? My current budget VA panel has pretty bad black smearing in darker scenes while otherwise i much prefer VA to IPS... Its either this one or going all out for OLED
Thank you very much for the detailed presentation. You explained everything very well and based on this video I chose Benq again as a manufacturer. I am currently using Benq EX2510 the best 1080p Gaming monitor. Because of the pandemic, I work from home more as a System & Network Administrator. This purchase is great. I ordered today here in Germany in Munich and the price is 560e. Two year warranty. Greetings from rainy Munich🙃
I have the 3210r and like it a lot. Might get this one too, because I could use pip. Great review, it reflects my 3210r experience. May I ask, which monitor stand you recommend?
What shocked me more than anything is the fact the monitor has a remote control, which is very rare in the monitor industry. I have always wondered why they never have remote control features in many of today's monitors. I'm currently using the BenQ EL2870U 28-inch 4K 60Hz monitor, would love a 144Hz monitor but feel the prices today, especially for 4K in gaming can be expensive. I find it difficult to play games at 1080p since going up to 4K, plus I love to watch many TH-cam videos in 4K.
I have previous model to this at 100hz va and its still banging to this day !! The contrast and black equaliser is astonishing on va panels!!! I downgraded from.165 because the panels peak nits was only 256nits but was rated to 400, "never got close" on the asus panel without using nvidia control panel tricks
Thanks for the video. Very detailed feedback. I think for PS5 gaming I’ll stick with 4K but I do like the ride screen. Please could you provide a link for the monitor arm used?
I recently bought that monitor, but with G-Sync activated I have some very strong screen flickering, not only in dark scenes of game, but also on the desktop and in chrome. More or less everywhere unless the screen is showing a white picture. I know it doesn't support G-Sync officially and that this can cause screen flickering, but in none of the reviews of this monitor screen flickering was mentioned, also from what I've read usually it only should be noticeable in dark scenes in game. So did you have a problem with that? I'm wondering if I should try to get another unit
Great review I just found your channel will sub! Would i be able to use a Lenovo Ideapad 1 on hdmi into this i play poker online and am looking for something light on eyes strain. And will be getting a gaming PC in the future so i wanna get a decent monitor ahead of time
