i have faced my life mostly alone and i can relate to u abt the inner voice thing last year my mom turned off wifi for like 2 months and its been the happiest days in my life even tho there was 1 exception, i used wifi at some nights to download good content from youtube( answers to my life problems/curiosity ) during the time(like 15 min) she checks her notification just around this time i made a habit of reading books, exercising and all the good habits u can imagine The way i speak the way i looked and everything about me changed because i listened to my true voice
Currently going a month without Instagram and boy do I feel more free to do what I want including free thinking. I have allowed most of my thoughts and opinions be influenced by constantly changing strangers on my feed, made it near impossible to be consistent on anything. Now I feel like my brain got room the stretch and breathe 🤔😤
What a Great experience Stephen, actually every time I feel the need to delete social media, I knew that a spiritual growth experience is waiting for me, so I took my decision since few weeks and deleted them, I had discovered that this was an inner call to understand myself more without distractions, to grow spiritually, to reach mental stability, and to heal, Peace ✌️
Im glad i found your video...i'm thinking about this too. There are way too many distractions in this world...its quite scary. takes you away from whats important. Thanks for sharing your experiences I hope to hear more of your wisdom and experiences. Rosie, London
at 4:10 that "something within me" reminded me of the book I was reading, Total Freedom by J. Krishnamurti. "There is intelligence only when there is no fear, when you are willing to rebel, to go against the whole social structure in order to discover the truth of anything. Intelligence is not knowledge. If you could read all the books in the world it would not give you intelligence. Intelligence is something very subtle; it has no anchorage. It comes into being only when you understand the total process of the mind - not the mind according to some philosopher or teacher, but your own mind. Your mind is the result of all humanity, and when you understand it you don't have to study a single book, because the mind contains the whole knowledge of the past. So intelligence comes into being with the understanding of yourself; and you can understand yourself only in relation to the world of people, things and ideas. Intelligence is not something that you can acquire, like learning; it arises with great revolt, that is, when there is no fear. "
Holy shit. I feel like it’s crazy this video is in front of me right now! Especially considering it’s less that 1k views (congrats on making such excellent content btw!!!) I’ve heard this inner voice tell me to go travel alone and also been hearing the strong urge to quit Instagram! I’ve been off Facebook and Snapchat for years now and haven’t looked back, but I’ve been holding on to instagram. But I’ve realized a similar thing to your story… you said you were planning out your graduation post to post on social media… i feel like whenever im in a beautiful place I end up thinking about what picture I can take that would be cool to post … then I catch myself and im like “NO NO NO, BE IN THE MOMENT!” … but it’s hard!!!! I don’t want social media in the back of my mind all the time. Anyways, this was really inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! :) and that's a really cool synchronicity that you're going through the exact same thing. Solo travel is awesome to learn about yourself - you should go for it!
Hello, i feel this exact same felling idea and i found it very sad. Every time you just even thinking about doing or going somewhere directly the idea of the potential story that will come of it emerge, even if I delete instagram month ago and i still think about my apparition on my friends story and the potential reaction of people when they see me. Like you said being concscious about it i do my best to think about living the moment. It's a little gift of modern society haha.
I see so many people on Facebook showing off their $1000 worth of merchandise that they went and purchase online from Amazon just to get likes and validation from strangers. It's so stupid, because you are only wasting your money and putting yourself into debt just to impress people (I am guilty with that myself). I came to realize and now that I am older people truly don't care about what you do or what you have in life.
Yeah that’s it bro! What you said reminds me of this quote lol: “When you're 20 you care what everyone thinks. When you're 40 you stop caring what everyone thinks. When you're 60 you realize no one was ever thinking about you in the first place.”
Great content. You may delve into existentialism like of Nietzsche and kierkegaard, buddhism, jung, greek philosophers, and many more. Finding the inner self in this world full of distractions can only be found in solitude. Solitude is a very peaceful place. They may think you are alone and have few to no friends but nope they didn't know you find your greatest peace and contentment, its very liberating 💙 and cathartic. Its paradox that Im watching in a online platform and commenting about how bad is virtual world in distracting to hear our inner self! Great wisdom quotes sometimes are paradoxical in nature 🤩 But I sometimes see the paradoxical benefits of being with others. The hardest part of being is maintaining the balance between solitude and being among the multitude. Sorry for this comment but your content is beautiful and caused me to be engaged in thinking socratically about paradoxical beauty of the self and solitude.
hey Kerby - thanks for the comment! It's great reading comments like these so no need to apologise :) and yep - I've went through the rabbit hole of philosophy and have explored all those things you've mentioned! Maybe you've heard of Alan Watts as well? He was a big part of my journey too. haha yeah it is a bit of a paradox but i guess youtube can also be used as a learning platform as seeing other people's spiritual content helped me on my journey. Yeah that's a struggle of finding solitude/other which I'm still trying to figure out!
@@stephen-michael Agreed my friend! I'm quite fascinated to find a like-minded individual, on TH-cam, literally near me, in the same city haha btw I've subscribed :)
@@Mr.Gul0 thanks bro! haha yeah - i feel the same hey. sometimes I feel that like minded people are only found online - but i think it's only a limiting belief. Thats something i struggle with and need to change!
That rabbit hole of social media is dangerous if you aren't in the proper mindset
nah. it’s just bad
As a fellow self-development creator, this is awesome! TH-cam needs more authenticity like this!
thanks man! appreciate it :)
