Felt every word especially the judgment people place when you’re not seemingly happy or expressive of the hard day or moments you’re experiencing on social media. Like we are human! Some people are not wired to be flawless and happy 24/7 with everything they post. Your journey is incredibly inspiring sis ❤️

Replacing social media with hobbies will completely turn your life around. After I deleted social media, I started reading more physical books. I feel more relaxed my mind is getting sharper because of it. Most people on these sites dont care about the next man when things get rotten in the real world.

Social media also causes you to not move on from people. Personally I like to "lurk" on people's pages, and sometimes curiosity would cause me to be nosy. Therefore upset/triggering me whenever I'd see an ex with someone else.

You’re telling the truth Sis. That’s why I’ve been off Facebook for 2 years and snap chat for two months. Social media has us too invested in other people’s lives. We meet people, but not everyone is meant to stay or be a part of our lives. As time goes on people change, and everyone we went to school with doesn’t need to know what we’re up to now. Social media is a pool of self absorbed individuals, that was me. I’m sure that was you. It’s more damaging than people think, and the worst thing that could have happened to society. I think so many will benefit from your experience as I'm sure a ton of people, especially women who depend on public/social acceptance and approval are oblivious to the consequences of social media addiction. Try to step outside of your comfort zone and enjoy spending time with yourself first, and once that is settled, the people intended to appear and stay in your life for the long run will come forth. I deleted social media because i started to feel like a loser seeing everyone around me having the “best life” in social media when in reality I don’t have any idea of what going on. I just felt like nobody cared about me, nobody like my stuff and started to feel jealous or sad seeing my friends have fun, i felt like my life was so boring compared to everyone else.. when in reality my life is fine. I am happy were i am in life i just comparing myself to everyone else… and it was making me depressed.. it got dark. Hours on tik tok scrolling my life away, not living in the present. Thankfully i deleted the app of my phone and fell so much better about everything.. But now the sad part is seeing that my “friendship” was never real..

I like Instagram, but i do take breaks on there. Also, I don’t overshare either. I’ve been dating for some time and I don’t show photos of my boyfriend like that. If someone wants to know how we’re doing they would have to literally ask me when they see me in PERSON or through a text, phone call. They’re not getting “updates” on my page whatsoever about my relationship..I learned this the hard way when I was in my 20’s now in my 30’s. But, taking breaks is nice tho because I’m focused on what I’m doing in the moment and I’m not worried about other people

Thank you for sharing this really spoke to me deeply. I’ve been depressed for over a year now and recently have started to see how it’s affecting me. I put my goals aside, but when it comes to social media I drop everything I’m doing just to see who’s posting or if xyz shared a story, etc. I would often compare my life to those on media and would feel like crap because my life didn’t look like theirs. As I deleted Instagram and Snapchat I got recommended this video specifically. I think the timing was meant to be, because I refuse to let another day go by without living it with purpose, with authenticity that resonates with me. You’re right, live an intentional life. Who cares if you don’t post, your life is not inside social media, it is outside social media, but most certainly don’t get them mixed up. Thank you once again for your video it really is nice to see I’m not going through this alone. Thank you

The amount of social media breaks I’ve been on. Currently on one right now & I related to everything that you’ve said! Going out and feeling like “if i don’t post it didn’t happen” or feeling so connected to the News that it would break me mentally/emotionally just even hearing it. I swear the only reason why I have social media is to promote my content & music but if I didn’t do anything, I would be completely MIA. This video really helped validate for me to continue to be intentional with my life & to appreciate it way more than just for content and/or promotion. Thank you for your vulnerability. After that I saw your film (I do not know how, is the magic real? This Idea was only on my mind and your film just popped up) , the film that I am really related with, now I feel it is really right decision to delete it from my life, maybe not for my whole life but for now it is the best choice. You are so right. I deleted my ig 2 years ago. I had to ask myself what would I gain or lose being off there. It was the most freeing feeling ever. My mental stay was much better too. I did reactive my page 8 months ago. But I learned to limit my time on there. I can go weeks, months and days without being on there. I could never do that before. If I feel again is affecting my mental state I will deactivate & it will never see me again lol.
