I think Translink has been trying to make it a permanent thing to have a few of those on the Millennium Line…the only thing I don’t like is the aggressive brakes it has in some areas lol
The sudden braking in some areas is because the onboard computers miscalculated the train's current speed and braking input required to maintain the set speed for a particular section of track and the train ended up going too fast so the brakes went into emergency for a split second causing the aggresive braking you felt, as well as a rough and sudden jerk, until the speed was back in tolerance for the track section. This miscalculation is likely casued by a lack of maintenance.

I asked them and they said it was because some 2001 cars are undergoing maintenance
