- A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE STATION'S HISTORY
Columbia Station was built in 1989 as the first eastern extension of the Expo Line for about a year until Scott Road opened in 1990 as the eastern terminus in Surrey. In 2002, the Millennium Line opened initially as a small spur to Braid, but the rest of the line opened in August 2002 to Commercial Broadway.
With this, Columbia became an interchange station for the Expo and Millennium Lines for the next 14 years. In 2016, the Millennium Line was rerouted to terminate at Lougheed to prepare for the Evergreen Extension to Lafarge Lake Douglas, as a result of this, the Millennium Line portion from Columbia to Lougheed became a second branch for the Expo Line, terminating at Production Way-University.
Today, Columbia serves as an interchange station for the Expo Line's two branches to Surrey and Burquitlam (Lougheed and Production Way) and is one of the busiest stations during the rush hour period, with some trains arriving in sub-60 second headways.

Looks like some paint came off with ad wrap being removed. They don’t seem to be painting the cars much as they near retirement.
