Dave: You see in a speedrun you don't want to die.. You see, skipping stuff is ideal... You see, I really didn't want to take damage there because it really slows me down...
Speedrun tip: I’ve only done this with peachette, but when you hit Kamek once, try to maintain air and hit Kamek in between boss phases. Makes the boss so much easier and faster.

Absolutely more speed runs of this game. Honestly I’d watch any speed run you play. Love all the content and to be able to watch more of your classic “DGR” moments while speed running....priceless!!!
The Ice Flower isnt my favorite but Ive always liked it and I wish they put it in MM2. Im sure there is a Mario Galaxy powerup that is worse though 😂

Love this Dave. Putting up with you for an hour is a pleasure. Would love to see more. 35 seconds over target is nothing to be sad about. Great run. You’ll keep improving as you aren’t even that familiar with the levels

The ice flower is one of my favorite powerups if I'm going to be honest with you Dave. And frankly, I wish it was in more games. My grandparents had a Wii, and we had New Super Mario Bros. Wii which had the ice flower and the penguin suit which are 2 of my favorite powerups. In that game, the ice flower made levels so easy and so much fun. There's nothing more fun than turning enemies into ice and yeeting them at a line of enemies. My favorite powerup that I can think of at the moment is blue shell mario. Not in 3D world where you hop in a shell, but you literally wear a shell on your back. New Super Mario Bros. One of the first mario games I ever played. And that game... was an absolute masterpiece.

You grew up with the wii... so that means you didn't get to experience the best Mario Power up... The hammer bros suit. Not the builder suit from MM but a suit that allows you to throw hammers like a hammer brother. It is also immune to fireballs when crouching

In all my time watching Dave’s videos, including his trolled series, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this consistently stressed.

that is not true - watch it again. It is a different cloud.
On 19:29 you can see the first cloud scrolling out of the screen on the left and on 19:37 you can see a new one coming up on the right of the screen.

I have no idea what a bad powerup might be, but at least the ice flower has "cool" mechanics

I think its the Penguin Suit, because it is basically a fusion between the Frog Suit and the Ice Flower
The painful part is that if you could skip cutscenes Dave would have easily gotten a time under 50 minutes

DGR, here's a good thing to know.
In Soda Jungle-2, there is a secret exit you can use which lets you skip the ghost forest section. Might be helpful.
Ghost forest is neccesary to skip the confusing mountain area.
Best Powerup penguin & nut suit. Worst powerup super mushroom i know it’s iconic but compared to other powerups is just not that great. Ice flower is great just a little bit unnecesary because of penguin suit.
I mean without the super mushroom you are technically unable to get other powers up in levels. So it’s one of the more useful in that regard
i know it's useful but on standalone is just ok. in games like super mario maker 2 you dont need mushroom to get other powerups.

Here’s a few tips
1. To get the power up from toad after beating a level, the last two digits of the time limit must be the same e.g. 233
2. Also, if you hold the jump/swim button underwater it makes you tread the water; I think it makes you fall slower
3. Try to aim for the bottom of the flagpole since it wastes a bit of time to slide down to the bottom of the pole

I personally think that the mushroom is the worst just because of its simpleness and the fact that the ice flower can kill multiple enemies really puts it up there for me

There is a power up right before the fight on Bowser Jr’s ship. It’s in the create by the pipe.

For anyone wondering, I watched the video in 0.5X speed and giant final boss bowser takes 60 fireball hits to be a hit hit

Worst powerup is the Peachette Crown. Only works with one charecter but the Acorn Plains toad house gives it to you anyways.

It could probably take me three days to reach there maybe two if I am on speed running mode but I’m multiplayer considering how busy player two is half of the time think that took me about two weeks
Before the fight with Bowser JR, ground pound the cardboard box to get the power up

In the bowser junior fight, I may be wrong but some of the big wooden blocks have power ups the one by the pipe might have one if you ground pound it before the fight. And during the fight when he goes low you can hit him with a bomb I believe
Fun fact: in soda jungle after the first level you go down to the fork in the road what u wanna do is go left and when your in the level near the end you should see a block in between a few pillars keep in mind you will need a nut suit 🌰 when u get there pick up a turtle shell and throw it and let it hit the block then climb up the vine that comes out of the block and then you glide across the gap and boom skip the boo house and everything
