Imma just spoil coin battle. Basically you pick a level it is vs. you and another player (friend, family member etc.) try and get through levels whilst collecting the most coins. Star coins are worth extra, and whoever has the most at the end wins
I also just always hold the run button when I play any game, not just mario, idk it's just so much faster
