XC Paragliding w/ NO LANDINGS!!!

- Paragliding flight on the Flow XCRacer2! This was the first ever crossing of the Cascades from Central Oregon, and furthest flight to the West from Pine Mountain. The day was unusual in it's wind direction, and spectacular in it's lift. Because of this, I was able to fly an unflown, and previously thought unflyable, line across massive forests without any good landing zones. It's not every day you get to trust the sky like this. A special flight that I'm happy to share!

So good! At 66 there are still things I want to do. This is one of them. You bring it to me vicariously so far. Thank you, Ari! I know you make your father proud.
YAYYYYY HE'S BACK ON TH-camEEE!
I'm trying! Its a lot of work!
That’s so awesome!! I just did my first SIV a few weeks ago, then my first flight after that was my first ever time really leaving the safety of the main ridge, did a 10 km flight (20+ 5 point free distance) and landed somewhere completely different it was amazing. Then this evening glass off I flew a pod for the first time, planning on flying Dunlap tomorrow in my new (to me/used) GTO lite. Super excited that the last 3 flights I have actually seen places of my local sites that I haven’t seen in the last 2 years of flying. I’m taking it slow, only got a little over 60 hours since day one, but these little progressions feel amazing, and seeing what is possible from pilots like yourself and many that I fly with it’s like there’s no limit. Just make safe choices and send it when it feels right, and you sometimes have those incredible moments.
Nice bro!!! hello and thanks for a very beautiful video from the brothers in the sky!!!
Great stuff Ari
Tks bud
Perfect timing to land at 4:20. Awesome flight! It’s so green there right now.
Hahahaha! Should pack a joint in my harness
That was a really great excursion, way to go Ari!!
Awesome flight Ari! That’s lookout point lake and it’s usually dryer on the east end of the lake so there should be plenty of place to land in a normal year and 58 runs pretty much the length of the lake so you’re never far from it. I guess it would take an epic day to get there from Pine.
Amazing and so beautiful.
Thanks Greg!
Smooth landing man 👌
Great flight thanks for sharing brother
Thanks for watching Dave!!!
So sick 👌
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing Ari. Nice flight that was. You are right about no landing spots. I don't think I would chance that flight in that direction without some sort of vol-biv setup. I guess that when the skies got you, well it has you.
Hell yeah Rod!
shangrila..it was working out good....great conditions..
Heaven is a place on earth!
Unconditionally subscribe 😊👍!!!
One thing you are always taught is " plan your landing before taking off, this includes xc!" You are setting. Yourself up for injury if you don't!
Don't you just love flying in clouds and then totally give the FAA all they need for a probable successful prosecution in this video... lol ((I've flown in clouds before but always by total accident :) 😁
if you are falling short, don't use your brakes, use the c lines
Hi Ari - great video. Can you send some details on your XC clinics? I am still fairly low-time but have flown in the UK, Spain and Colombia. UK Pilot rated IPPI4.

Would love to have you!
@Ari in the Air Thanks Ari. I will have a look and make some plans.
@@theflyinggauntlet I've also got a Dolomites trip for the last week of july that is in the works. Email me at ariintheair@gmail.com if you're interested!
When you're in the right place at the right time, with the right skills and mindset, and the sky path opens up to somewhere you've never been and looks incredible, what are you supposed to do- not follow it?
When you're prepared to spend a night or two out, and lose some gear, XC is way less stressful. The upside of flying over long stretches with no LZ is that it's one less thing to worry about, so you can focus on flying...
THIS GUY GETS IT!!!!
The difference between an adventure and a disaster is only the ending. The action is the same. I don’t think I will book a course. Too much risk for one live. I don’t respawn at take off if things go south.
Your saying is fairly true. My own flights and my instruction is very different, I'm sure you can imagine
Also, tree landings are rarely the end of the world.
@@AriintheAir True but it’s annoying as fuck
@@AriintheAir no why should I? You promote yourself with that even dare to promote your become a man through me courses and then you show some crazy lucky adventure… I wouldn’t recommend eh ne my son to behave like you. You are charming and for sure a nice guy but bring a role model means some shit
@@minibroncogermany You could use your imagination to question your own judgements, and find charitability in your views before passing them along. It seems that you're judging my flight as "crazy lucky" and you use that judgement to inform your judgement of my capacity to guide people in personal development. Well, thats ok, thats your judgement. Surely we have different risk tolerences, and you are projecting your tolerence as "the good, right one" and mine as "crazy. Looking through that lens will only provide one judgement. If you want that self-righteous judgement, then the lens is serving you to that end. If not, maybe you could use your imagination to consider how one might be able to make his own decisions and advise people to make theirs as well?
Drama queen.

@@AriintheAir you behave like a drama queen.
@@frodenimbus Wow, you added 4 words! Great job! Expansive and insightful vocabulary! Thanks for watching and for your wonderful contribution!
