    Nailed it. Good one.
    One technique that’s also worth mentioning is if you have to get on the bar quickly, decide how much bar you’re going to push (for example 1/2 bar) and then push 1/2 that quickly (1/4 bar), glider will dive and then as you swing through the bottom and it is about to climb, you Push the second half of what you were going to push (another 1/4)... and you just fly fast and straight. This really minimizes the pitch movements and altitude loss of quickly applying bar.

    It’s worth mentioning: don’t touch the brakes when on bar. My glider manual says that the glider will stall if brakes and bar are used simultaneously (Airdesign Volt, EN C).

    Skywalk mentioned this : We do not recommend controlling the glider through the C-levels. As opposed to gliders with two line levels with which you can change the angle of attack by pulling the rear risers, doing the same on a glider with three line levels causes the profile to deform. This results in a crease forming between levels, which makes the glider more susceptible to collapses. i'm confused. (i wanted to put C-riser control handles on my EN-B glider)

      So, this is an interesting point. Realistically, you can use the rear risers on bar, but like the manufacturer is warning, its not totally designed for this.

      @@AriintheAir i am flying competition with a B glider. Should i fly hands up when on bar? Instead of active flying with c's?

      @@IvoBELGIUM Definately use the c's. Even though its not the most effecient thing, its all you got, so use it.

    Heck I haven't actually started paragliding yet and I was already afraid of speed bar collapse! Well, not afraid but the association was being laid down :D (Not meaning to be a dry land tourist; I just know I go through crazes with interests and bucket list items, and this would be an expensive craze to jump into reflexively, only to drop shortly after for the next thing! Giving time for the interest to either grow or wane while learning as much about the real experience as I can from where I am here on the ground!)

    Hi Ari, valuable info you are sharing in did. My experience (of last couple of years, flying Ozone Mantra, Niviuk Icepeak 7 and Davinci XChorde) is that I had zero, 0, zilch collapses when I was pushing speed. Mostly I'm pushing halve or full, and I use C or B risers control ... All my collapses in this period are without pushed speed, they are mostly minor (nonevents) except maybe 2-3... and they are mostly happening when I don't follow good, weight blend risers ... that is my experience. Do continue to post your videos, please... Many good flights and safe landings.

    Nice video, good info, at 10:19 you say how much you pull the back risers ...can you show it? With a helmet camera during the flight for example?

    Speed bar and lift question. When entering some lift, the wing pitches back, should I push some bar? Just to keep the wing over my head and my speed up? To penetrate the edge of that lift? Then let off to fly slow while in the lift? Or no. What’s the technique there. Thanks Ari your videos are awesome!

      Wes Goulding I would say that it depends; if you know there is stronger lift further into the climb because you can see birds or pilots rocketing up, then sure push more bar. But typically I would maintain my bar as it is so that I can assess how much lift im actually in. If you push more or come off the bar, it will be hard to tell your vertical airspeed accurately.     Thank you! Why pull the rear risers instead of the breaks to control the wing (minut 08:30)? I'm new in the field.

      Pulling the brakes while on bar will deform the airfoil in a way that could induce a frontal collapse. Pulling rear risers will allow safe steering while on bar and help keep the cells open.

    You say dont fly bar close to the ground. What if you're coming in to land or just taken off and going backwards on launch? What's the best way to push out of venturi safely rather than be smashed into rotor and rocks behind launch?

      Don't launch when its that strong. If you gotta use the bar close to the ground, you gotta use the bar. Landing with bar is a trick! Sometimes a fun one, always on a 2-liner.

    Hey ari! Wich is the best en a glider for a sporty beginner? I'm anding school and i'f to buy my firt wing, I was luking for something like the phi symphonia or maybe the skywalk tequila 5 (Wich is an en B... 😬😬)

      Reflex wings have different properties but most of this applies to them. Maybe not rear riser control?

    5.5 glide ratio on full speedbar ... Naaaaah.... Im sure my C wing keeps a nice GR... I'll pay more attention next time

      How is the speedbar's affect on GR on an A class different? I'm sure they're different, but don't know what the affect is.

      @@hippoyell Yes actually I think 5.5 GR is not wrong.. full speedbar does make you go down a fair bit.. but also forward. My Phantom gets up to 50kmh and unfortunately 5.5GR I think, hard to say since air s never still. After having experienced 5m/s sink though last days, I can say that speedbar is worth its weight in gold regardless of the unimpressive sounding GR. Basically as soon as you hit headwind or sink, speedbar does help you get back some efficiency of moving through that airmass, can be easily calculated/proven.

      @@AvengerIl I think also that glide ratio 12 and 5.5 for a CCC-wing is incorrect. I rather expect 9 and 6.5. But I definitely need to do some testflights in winter.
